09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Good Morning All!

On my second cup of coffee - hope you are all feeling well today, especially for Lisa and Dianne who are still not up to snuff! :flower3:

Yes, like Lisa said last night, we did get snow again. Just a little about 2" or so but the nice kind - makes everything look really neat but not on the roads! We are forecast for a big storm on Saturday though.

We're taking our scouts up to the Poconos for a ski weekend this weekend. We are very fortunate that one of our scout families has a house up there that they let us use for the weekend, so it really helps keep the cost down. Hope the weather holds out.

I'm really getting excited about people saying that they are going on the SSMC11 - that will be soooo amazing to travel with all of you again. Its really giving me something to look forward to.

Thanks for the input about July. I'm not really looking forward to going at that time, but I am really looking forward to seeing my friends from England and meeting some of the new scouts.

Well, have to go to a doctor's visit today. Not feeling real great these days so I need to get my blood tests done to check my thyroid checked, among other things. Send happy thoughts!!

I'll check in later on today.

I'm so excited to hear that so many of you are planning/thinking about the SSMC11! What a fun time. However, I am bummed that none of you are joining on this years cruise. :upsidedow If we hadn't bought points we probably wouldn't be going either. But there will be a couple of familiar faces with us. Marsha and Monika and their spouses will be sailing with us this time. And we are taking our girls. So all will be good. (However, who will splash DH in the pool when he is not expecting it, Sue? :rotfl2:) He still talks about that, and the towel snake. He really enjoyed himself on that cruise.

Well last weekend we made our ADR's for our upcoming March trip. Can't believe this late in the game and we got what we wanted. :woohoo: Only one place was booked at the time we wanted so we went with the number two choice on that one and got it. I think DH said we leave in 36 days. Can't, can't, can't wait to go back. I know we were just there like two weeks ago, but with all the snow here, I'm ready. We have broken a record here for having over 5" of snow on the ground for over like 30+ days now. And we are expecting a measurable snow on Friday. :confused3 Thanks, Phil for seeing your shadow!

Well, have a great day!

Sue - :wizard: for luck at the doctor today. It is always such fun to go there. My thyroid has been out of wack for years. It runs in my family. Hope yours is ok.

Sounds like your weekend will be fun. What a great family to let you use their home.

And your July trip sounds like it will be such fun. Hot, but fun. Spend lots of time at the pool.

Sue - :wizard::wizard:for the doc today.:grouphug:

we went to the Pocono's for are honeymoon many many years ago.:) It is so pretty there. We landed in wilksboro airport and when they say they are going to land they do. That is the one and only time I felt sick on a plane.

Massive doses of PD for those of you who aren't feeling well pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:. This means you, Lisa, Dianne, and Sue.

Lisa, it's a real blessing that you will be able to finish your Master's. It may be a good opportunity for you w/ your division being bought out; you might end up w/a better position. You're so smart and hardworking I know you'll end up on your feet.

Chris, if we hadn't already been booked on the WBTA, we'd probably have tried for this year's member's cruise. But the WBTA is such a big deal for us, we had to stay w/it (and that's assuming we can dig up the remaining funds :scared: ).

Joanne - The WBTA sounds like a wonderful cruise. I don't blame you for not giving it up for a four day cruise! Will be anxious to hear about it when you and Dave get back from it.

I second what Christ said.

I sure with the member cruise was longer.

Thanks everyone!

It's official. We are being sold. Supposedly settling 3rd quarter. At least that will allow me to finish school and then see what the future holds. Will start updating the resume and researching other opportunities in the meantime. If I have anything to be thankful at this very moment is that I am finishing up my masters and with the Information Assurance degree I should not be stuck within one industry. Obviously we have no idea right now what the future holds as far as reductions to staffing.

We shall see. Maybe it will turn out to be a good thing. Who knows?!?!?!

Take care and thanks again for the good thoughts and pixie dust.

:flower3:

It's snowing again!!!!!!!!! :scared:

And I am starting to feel worse yet again . I just can't seem to kick this illness. Achy and sore throat.

I am definitely planning for SSMC11 but I think most of you already knew that just from my signature. DD is still talking about going on a cruise. Even DS inquired today as to whether our trip this year was a cruise or just WDW. I told him we were saving out points for SSMC11 and he said....is that when we get to go on the new ship with the new TWEEN location. He and DD are so excited about the new kids areas.

Chris we will be on the Aqua Duck with you. I am so excited to try the slide.

Thanks again everyone for the positive feedback and well wishes. Appreciate the kind words.

:flower3:

Lisa, here is some pixie dust, to wish you well :wizard::wizard:These are hard times, but we have each other to lean on.

I am still under the weather I finished my second dose of meds the other day. I am better, but far from over this.

I got some great news today, I won round trip tickets on Amtrack for either Chicago or Kanasas City, Well I guess, that may be my vacation this year, It was very nice of God to provide that for me.

DH is planning Chicago, I think that is a good choice.

We are expecting snow tomorrow, with ice forming tonight.

My DS is in Vegas for Superbowl, with a group of friends, I would not mind being there either.

Yes, I am going to find some way to get on the 2011 cruise? I don't want to miss the opprtunity to be with all of you.

Everyone stay healthy, And for those of us that are under the weather :wizard::wizard:

Dianne - Congrats on the tickets. Like they say God works in mysteries ways

I agree it would be nice to be in Vegas for the superbowl.

we are supposed to get the snow here to.

Chris - How is it by you?

T. G. I. F.

Morning my SSM09 Friends!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

If you are going to a superbowl party have fun.

Good morning everyone! I agree with Flo - TGIF!

Remember that software package I was learning and later teaching? Well we went live on Monday! So it is been a hectic week with lots of little things popping up but overall a good launch. Management seems to be happy.

Yesterday was also my one year anniversary of my surgery which means today is my one year anniversary of my PE and ending up in ICU :scared1:. Good news is that when I was at the doctor this week he took my off the coumadin! So life is good!

Dianne - great news on the tickets. If you do end up picking Chicago we'll have to try and have a mini meet and all get together.

Joanne - I know you and Dave will both have a great time on the WBTA. Sounds like a great time I just can't see us having that much time to take off. We did pay off our July 5 night this week and that was stretching our budget.

To all who aren't feeling well here some pixiedust: that you start feeling better soon.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning. :goodvibes

Dianne - hope you get to feeling better soon. You must be sick of being sick. Best of luck for recovery, and soon! :wizard: And congrats on winning the trip. Sounds like fun.

Flo - it is snowy here. We are to get about 2-3 inches by tomorrow. Nothing like out East. Sounds like they are going to get slammed with a storm. All of you in the path of this storm, stay safe! :littleangel:

Mary - glad to hear the new software is working out. It is so stressful to change. And wow, it has been a year since your surgery. I'm so happy things are going good for you. Here's to continued good health :cheer2:.

This weekend I had planned to stay home and get some work done. But, plans changed during the week. Brooke has a basketball tournament now for Saturday and Becca wants to go start looking for a Prom dress on Sunday. So, no staying home for me. Oh, well.

Have a great Friday everyone! :flower3:

Good morning, everyone!

Dianne, congrats on the win . Now you just have to get better so you can enjoy it. I truly hope you will be feeling better very soon :flower3: . Have you decided where to go yet? Both locations have a lot going for them; I know I'd have trouble picking.

Mary, I can't believe it's been a year since your surgery. I'm so glad things are better for you this year :thumbsup2 .

Flo, I wish all of you could come on the WBTA. I know we'd have a great time. And I also wish the members' cruise was more than 4 days. I wonder why they don't make it 7. Maybe they don't want to have to plan a week's worth of entertainment :rotfl: .

Chris, I remember shopping for prom gowns (w/3 daughters there were a lot of them). Good luck; I hope you find something pretty!

We're bracing for our 3rd major snowstorm of this season. They're predicting 18-24 inches this go-round. That will make ~5 feet of snow for us so far! At this rate, the kids here will be making up school into July :scared1: .

Here's hoping that all of my East Coast cruise buddies are safe! Sounds like one heck of a storm out there.

I 2nd what Chris said! Hope they are all safe and sound.

Well, can I say I'm sick of snow? And there's more in our forecast for Tuesday-Wednesday AND next Sunday. :scared1: We're up at about 18" so far and it's supposed to continue 'til late tonight. Hey, maybe we've been teleported to North Dakota by aliens :lmao: . But we're warm and safe, so no complaints really.

Flo, I just noticed I still have the St. Patty's Day shamrocks from last year. I guess I'm early for this year ;) .

18 inches already? pixiedust:

Hi everyone! The news on my end is that on Thursday I found out that I have a meeting in Manassas VA a week from Monday. I have been down to our site in Manassas many times but never on a Monday. So I decided to head down early and spend the weekend in DC. I'll fly down to Dulles on Friday evening and stay in Manassas for all 3 nights. I'll then head into DC on Saturday and maybe Sunday depending upon whether I get my long list of sites to visit done on Saturday. If I do get them done then I will head to Arlington National Cemetary on Sunday and then maybe the Clara Barton site.

JoAnne - wow. Lots of snow. I know we are sick of it too. We are breaking records here. I don't remember having this much snow for years.

Robbie - sounds like a great trip you have coming up. Have fun.

Hope that Lisa, Dave, Sue, Marsha and Monika are all safe from the storm. And everyone else that is out East.

Thanks Chris, we are not even expected to get any snow, the storm has stayed south of us again. Very strange weather patterns lately. Hope everyone in the storms path and wake are all safe.

Thanks everyone, I think we have chosen Chicago, I picked up the vouchers today, I must make the trip befor July 22nd. Yes we want to meet up with all of our chicago friends, It has been about 15 or 20 years since we have been it Downtown Chicago, and about 10 years ago when we where in the suburbs, I know a lot must have changed and would love sugestions on where we should go, and what we should do. :thumbsup2

As far as all of my friends where the snow is landing, My wish for you is to stay safe and warm. ;)

Mary, I am so happy that things are going well for you!:wizard:

Eveyone enjoy the superbowl, so whom are you rooting for?
