09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Hi Everyone!

Sue - That would be a great experience to do the Richard Petty. Let us know if you do it.

Robbie - It will be a once in a live time experience. I am putting the young ones in the up stairs and we will be on the main floor. This way we will be seperated.;)

:coffee: Good Morning Deck 9 Sunrisers & all my Friends :coffee:

Well, at least the sun is out this morning! Temps are going up slightly and by the middle of the week they say we will be in the forties - wow!! - heatwave! :rotfl2:

Chris, your weekend sounded great! We haven't done a date night for quite a while - we should! And Joanne is right, around here the prices are much higher, even for a matinee. Although they don't charge for the 3D glasses (yet!). That's why we usually go with your other idea - wait for it to come out on dvd and then enjoy it at home!! There are certain movies, though, that you just need to see on the big screen. Haven't seen Princess and the Frog yet, but John saw the big preview on the Member cruise and said it looked great. Hope to see it soon!

Yes, each day I am checking the forecast to see if the temps are going up in Florida! By the time you guys get there, Chris, it will probably be back to normal. With how cold it has been at night, I'll bet the pools are going to be really chilly! DS & friend really wanted to swim - we'll see! :rotfl:

DBFF just sent us some info on a cool deal that DH is now really excited about. She found this offer from the Richard Petty Driving Experience for Annual Passholders - which we had gotten this year, only because we had this trip and one more in July with our Scouts & England Exchange kids. It is for now until March 31, passholders can go over and get a 3-Lap ride-along for free!! We had scheduled in a "down" day for relaxing - well, now guess who's very happy that I made him put it in the schedule, and guess who is going directly to the Driving Experience. I told him I would think about trying it too. DS is really bummed because the minimum age for the ride-along is 14 - he just misses!

Monika, when do you guys go and where are you staying?

Take me back to Deck 9 !!!!!!!! :worship:

Sue - Bobby keeps checking the weather too. Maybe the boys could at least get some hot tub time in? Those are usually warm enough. It is just getting from the building into the hot tub that is the problem! :rotfl2: But they are young, and if they are like my girls-- sometimes no brains, and they would go swimming. Maybe not for long, but they would have to to say they went. :confused3 Ahhhhh, to be young and crazy again. :rolleyes1

Yes, I read about the driving experience and I'm glad John is excited about it. That makes it better for you if he is excited. To bad Dustin isn't going to be old enough to ride along. I guess another reason to have to go back to WDW.

We loved The Princess and the Frog. We laughed, we cried, we schmoozed, we had a good time, then went home. :lmao: You'll enjoy it when you get to see it.

And, DH just told me that he did online check in tonight. Can't tell he is excited much can we. He is even packed and ready to go! Not me, haven't even got a suitcase out yet. I mean, geez, we don't leave until the 22nd. I have plenty of time. He is just always excited to go. :dance3:

And I'm with you, CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm with you, Chris! That Calgon is good stuff!

I'm about to pull my hair out! John has had a stuffy cold since last Friday and is still pretty stuffy. Hope he gets better really soon. And then Dustin went to school today just fine, and by 9:30 I got a call from him saying he had gotten sick. School nurse told me he was also running a low fever. So much for the Social Studies mid-term he had today!! He feels better now, but the school always says they want 24 hours before you send them back. So not only is he missing three days next week, but at he will at least miss one more day today if not tomorrow too! AHHHHH! :rotfl:

I guarantee that the boys will be in the pool at least once! And if you read Allears.net, they cancelled the Spirit of Aloha show tonight because it was too cold! Can this really be happening with this weather? I hope we get to see the luau show - I was really hoping to see it! Cross your fingers for me.

Hope the guys get to feeling better soon, Sue. Also hope you don't get it! Better start popping come vitamin C. Don't know if it helps or not but sounds good. :rotfl2: I know our school is the same way about the fever thing. Hopefully Dustin will be able to make up his test before you leave next week.

My fingers are crossed for you and the Spirit of Aloha show. I know you will love it. It is a really fun show, I thought. I also enjoyed the food. In fact, we just watched Blue Hawaii and I was thinking it would be fun to go do the show again. Come on weather, straighten up! Please? :worship:

We had some guy in the office yesterday saying that the end of January we are to get a really big snow storm here. Said he read it in the Farmer's Almanac. Said we are to get like 24-36" of snow out of it. :scared1: I so hope that is wrong. But the weather guy said something this morning about a storm the end of the month, so who knows?

Here is a little :wizard: for the weather to be great when you get there! :flower3:

Thanks Chris! I'll take all the help I can get. And I'm with you on the vitamin C! Been taking them and those Cold Ease drops! Dustin got sick again last night just after I went to bed at about 11:30! So I let him sleep and he's still in bed now. Hopefully he'll feel better later.

I have to call member services this morning again. I called on Sunday to add Tom back onto the reservation. Well because the reservation is in two parts and linked, because we were on a waitlist for the two bedroom for the first night and got it, somehow the cast member who helped on Sunday added him to the first day but not the rest of the trip! So now I have to call back and fix it - hopefully it will all be fine. I started the online check-in and that's how I found the problem. I hope that doesn't make fixing it harder either!

Wow, sounds like you are in for alot more snow!! I hope we get at least one more good snow - I like it - don't like getting around in it but love to see it!

Flo, I'll let you know (and maybe get pictures) if I decide to be brave!!

Hey Dave - where arrrrrre you!!

Wow, it's getting really quiet around here. Dustin is still sick so I'm thinking I may have to call the doctor tomorrow. Everything seems fine but then he can't keep anything down. We'll see how he is in the morning, I guess.

We were just watching "Bolt" for the first time - that is really cute! We laughed and laughed.

Guess I'll check in on the kiddo again - brb. :)

Good Morning Everyone!!

Sue- Hope everyone starts feeling better quick!! You leave soon for Disney don't you?

Chris-Hope all is well and you are prepared for your trip.

Flo-How exciting to be headed down at the Holidays, everyone should see it at least once.

Mary-Hope all is well with you and Mark

Lisa-Congrats on the A in your class, how is your family chart working out?

Hope I didn't miss anything, have a good day all!

Good morning everyone! Sorry I haven't been around as much. Having way too much fun on facebook and also very busy at work.

All well on this end. It is warming up which is nice.

Right now just working to pay off our July cruise. Don't have anything else planned yet for this year. I wish D23 would announce if they are doing an expo this year. If so we'd like to go. If not we'll most likely book Disneyland for early December. Haven't been out there for about 5 years and love it at holiday time. What they do to Small World both inside and out is amazing.

:coffee: Good Morning Deck 9 Sunrisers & all my Friends :coffee:

Hi everyone! Glad to hear from folks!

Hi Dave! Well I hope they all feel better too, because we leave very early Sunday morning. Have you recovered from the crowds yet? How is the start of your New Year going?

Glad to hear all is well with you Mary! The weather is doing a little warm-up here too. We'll see how long that lasts. I've been to WDW twice to see Christmas, and absolutely love it, but I would really love to see Disneyland at Christmas. I've seen a few pictures of the changes they make to Small World and it looks beautiful.

Dustin is home again today  - just when I thought he was better, it wasn't! But he's still asleep right now, so I'll have to wait to see how he is when he wakes up. The sleep will do him good, I hope!

So home today! Maybe I'll try to wrestle all of the Christmas totes up into the attic - we'll see how strong I feel. :rotfl2:

Good Morning.

Sue - I so hope Dustin is feeling better. He sounds like he has a real bad case of the stomach flu. Yuck!

Mary - we have never been to Disneyland before. We want to go out there someday. Where do you stay while out there? And how far away from the park are you? Just wondering.

We are starting to warm up around here and things are starting to melt. They said we lost around two inches of snow yesterday. :yay: Hopefully more will go away today as we are to be in the upper 30's.

I am starting to get excited about our upcoming trip to WDW. I just wish the girls were coming with, but with all of their activities they are unable to come with this time. But they will be along in March for Spring Break when we will be staying at WL. Can't wait for that one. It is so beautiful over there. And it will be our first time staying there so we are all excited.

Have a great day everyone! :flower3:

Chris we've stayed at all three of the Disney hotels (Disneyland Hotel, Paradise Pier Hotel, and Grand Californian). My favorite by far is the Grand Californian (which now has a DVC wing). All three are walking distance to the park. When you get there you don't have to drive anywhere. Downtown Disney it right in the mix there as well. It is wonderful. Many people do stay off site and there are tons of hotels/motels to choose from but I like being right in with the action.

Yes as you might have heard Disneyland is smaller than Walt Disney World but it has a very unique charm all its own. To me it is because Walt actually visited there. It truly was his park.

Hoiday time out there is amazing and they really do so much to make it special. We'll definately be back at holiday time just don't know if it will be this year or sometime in the future. Doesn't matter because Disneyland is great any time of year you go!

PDFG and all our friends who need it.

Evening Everyone!

Sue - :wizard: for Dustin.:surfweb: Better soon.

Cruis - We have stayed at the Grand Califorian to. We went there for Danny's 50 birthday. We had a park view. It was great. They gave us that for his B Day. We could never have afforded it. I agree with Mary Disneyland has a Charm to it. I love Califoria Adventure to.

Take care

Hello, everyone, not been feeling very good for a while, had both upper and lower respority infection, still recovering, And boy am I paying for it at work, I was posting things everywhere except where they belong, I have been trying to correct it all all week.

Well, I don't remember much about the cost or how big the locker is. DH did this. We will be getting it for the first time when we go down in January. We plan on putting alot of bathroom stuff (shampoos, sun screen, toothpaste and the stuff that is hard to take on airplanes anymore), laundry soaps, extra drinks that haven't been opened. We want to leave some unbreakable mugs and other stuff. If you go to the owners locker site it can tell you all about it. We just figure that we are going at least two times a year and that it will be worth it for us. We are hoping to not check luggage when we fly by doing this. And we have read that they can even meet you at MCO to give you your box and you would be able to take it with on a cruise!

As for groceries, we have never utilized the service Disney offers. We have always gone to Goodings by DTD, expensive, or we have found a Super Wal-Mart that is close by that we will go to. So, sorry I can't help ya there.

Have a great day with mom! And stay warm.

I have the owners locker, used it for the first time, in september, I packed a lot in it, including our pirate gear, soap, creams, swimsuits, and the list went on and on, You keep a detailed list on thier website, which makes it easy to keep track of your items.

It has been cold here and lots of snow this morning. Mark has been up and out the door for a few hours now as part of his job is plowing at the plant where he works and one of the other stores as well. Luckily I don't have a far commute.

Yes Mark and I have our own computers. We have a small two bedroom house and we converted the 2nd bedroom into a computer room. Since that is pretty much how we got together it was one of the first rooms we could fully furnish. We have a desk that wraps around so I face one wall, he faces the other and in the middle is the printer, storage and the tv. So there are times when we are both in here on both doing the same thing. What can I say we are geeks. :surfweb:

We are geeks to, yes we sit on the sofa, with our laptops..isn't it great it is something we can do together and still be individuals.

Flo, we sayed at Old Key west 3 bedroom villa. It was wonderful, the rooms there are larger, than all of the others.

There was 9 of us when we stayed there. My daughter walked though the door and hugged me and said this is awesome, thank you, that made the membership worth every penny. It was very roomy and we loved it. SSR is my home resort, but It cost a lot of points to stay at SSR, so after the 7 month mark, I was able to book at Old Key west. And I am so glad we did.

Have a good night
