09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Joanne - Were are you staying? Yes we will be out there then. Would be great to see are table mates.:) This will be are 2nd time there. We had a 2 bed the last time. I am sure your DGD face is going to be precious.:)

Lisa - I have scene that doggie patch commercial. The first time I saw it was when I was out of work. It was so unbelieavlebale that I taped it to show Danny and Steven. I agree with DD yuck!

I was laughing at your DD response. She is hooked on cruising. Good for her.

Big Congrats on you "A". You have worked very hard.:thumbsup2

I noticed that you put a pic on facebook. Nice pic.

Take care everyone. Like Chris said try and stay warm.

Flo, since we'll have 5 adults w/us, we're going w/the 2 BR at Kidani House; it has 3 bathrooms, which is a bonus for us!

I am sitting here reading your's and Chris' posts. I just finished reading your comment regarding DD's comments about the crusie and she comes over and sits next to me. She sees the screen and immediately says, "Mommy, why can't we go on the cruise?" I had not said anything about what I was doing or the cruise. :confused3 DD is really upset because one of her friends in class is going on the SSMC10 but she does not understand why she is not going also.

Oh NO! And, the potty patch commercial just came on and she says, " EEEEWWWW! Seems to be a popular commerical on the Discovery Kids channel.

Lisa,

Why on earth do they keep showing that on Discovery Kids channel. That is not what I would call for kids. But they probibly do that to help make kids ask there parents for animals.

When my DS was little and his friends were doing something tht he wanted to do he would say write a check. When he got older and his own acocunt he realized that there has to be money there.

take care

Joanne,

I could understand why you would want 3 bathrooms with 5 adults. That is were we really wanted to stay but since that is not are home resort I would have to wait to 7 months out and I don't think would get a room.

But you could give it a try, right? I never thought we'd get BC last year, but we did, so it's worth a shot. Of course, we had AKV booked at 11 months, just in case.

That is true! That is something I have to think about. Thanks I forgot I could switch.:)

Hey everyone! :goodvibes

We have been having a great weekend. Even if it has been record breaking lows.

Last night me and DH actually went on a date! Shocker. He has been going crazy sitting in the house day and night, so yesterday when I was taking a shower I had the radio on and an Alan Jackson song came on and I came out and said "let's go dancing tonight". He looked at the closest dance hall's schedule for the night and low and behold it was a country band. Score! So we got duded up, put our boots on and we went. We met at a country bar and used to go dancing all the time. I mean every weekend. So, last night was really fun. But boy oh boy are we out of shape. Twice around the dance floor and we could hardly breathe. And my legs hurt so bad. But, we had such a good time. The next time they have a country band, this dance hall/bar alternates between Big Band, 50's/60's and country, is on January 30th. We are seriously thinking about going again. It really brought back a lot of memories of how much fun we used to have doing it.

Then today, we got up and took the girls out for breakfast and then to see "Princess and the Frog". Loved it. So colorful and toe tapping. Happy and sad. Just the way I like it. It is definitely one we want to get for home when it comes out for sale.

So, it has been a pretty good weekend for us around here. Hope everyone else has had a good weekend too!

Chris - sounds like fun!

Yesterday was a quiet day at home but we went on a date today. Saw Avatar in IMAX 3D and then an early dinner at Red Robin. Now just chilling for the rest of the day.

Chris, sounds like you two had a lot of fun! My DH and I met on a blind date where we went dancing, but we haven't done a lot of that lately.

Mary, we saw Avatar in 3D (not IMAX) last weekend and, although the story was not exactly original, that movie blew me away. It made me want an Avatar body so I could move to Pandora. (And yes, I want to go to Hogwarts, too ;) .) Now I want to see it in IMAX.

Chris,

Sounds like a great weekend!

Good Morning! It was a great weekend.

Sounds like a bunch of us went to the movies this weekend. Avatar being most popular. It is fun to go to the movies but so darned expensive. For the four of us, and we got matinee prices, $20 to get in, pop and popcorn, $20 but just spending the time together, priceless. And we don't go very often because we usually end up buying the movie and watching at home.

Well, we are on a gradual warm up here. We might even make it above freezing by Wednesday! :yay: It's pretty bad though when 25-30 degrees sounds good. :rolleyes1 I hope Florida warms up. Right Sue and Monika? We all will be down there within days of one another so we need us some warmer weather. Sue, please put in the request with the mouse when you get there, ok? :lmao:

Gotta get to work for the day. Have a great one everybody. :flower3:

$20 for the four of you? Around here that's great. Tickets for matinees go about $7.50 or so. And it's $10 for the 3D ones. But at least we didn't have to pay for the 3D glasses like my sister in NY. They charged $5/pair and then had the nerve to ask for them to be returned after the movie! BTW, what did you see?

Hi Joanne.

Wow, I think that is awful high for a movie. Then the glasses to boot. Oh, boy. We just have a hard time spending that much money when we can wait and buy it at Wal-Mart or somewhere for around $20 and then eat our own $.25 bag of popcorn and pop and stop the movie when we have to go to the bathroom and I can be in my jammies watching it. I don't know. :confused3 I guess we are just cheap that way. :confused3

But we went and saw The Pricess and The Frog. We all loved it and can't wait to add it to our Disney movie collection. Tiana is a wonderful addition to the Disney Princesses. :thumbsup2

I have to share!

:woohoo::woohoo:I am so excited!:woohoo::woohoo:

I just booked ar December 2009 vacation to the world at SSR in a grand villa.

Lisa - I say good by to sometimes then post again. But then I sometimes think I am brain dead.:)

Mary - We all have are own lap tops to. We sit on the coach with them.

Chris - We are supposed to get that cold tonight. Then next week they say it may be in the 30's late next week.

Robbie - Hope the snow misses you.

Wow, a Grand Villa? That sounds awesome!

Yes, the snow missed us. :yay: I was very surprised when I checked the weather and it didn't have any snow besides a few flurries.

:woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay:

I'm so excited for you Flo. That is exciting. But I hoped you booked 2010 instead of 2009. :lmao: Isn't it so hard getting used to the new year ????

How many will be going with you if you have the Grand Villa? It would be so cool to stay in one of those. I bet you have a Grand time. :rotfl2:

Yep, we are in for a warm up next week too. As long as we get through the next couple of days. Tonight we are to be at -19, and that is not wind chill. That is just to darn cold. We are keeping all of the curtains pulled to try to keep the heat in, and our dog doesn't even want to go outside to do her business. But, we are mean and we make her go out. Don't want no accidents in the house! :rolleyes1

Since it is so cold out we are having another exciting Friday night in our house. Me and Brooke on a computer and watching Food Network, Becca in her room doing whatever, and Bobby in the bedroom watching movies. Are we an exciting family or what?

Hope everyone else is having a more exciting night than we are and that everyone is safe and warm. :flower3:

Flo, since we'll have 5 adults w/us, we're going w/the 2 BR at Kidani House; it has 3 bathrooms, which is a bonus for us!

Good decision! With 5 adults, the 3 bathrooms will be great.

Awesome! I was orginally hoping to go see it this past weekend, but didn't have time. Hopefully, I will be able to go a week from Friday.

We'll definitely see The Princess and the Frog, just don't know when. And we did exactly the same things when our kids were growing up....buy or rent a movie and make our own snacks. It's a heck of a lot cheaper than taking 5 people out to a theater. Plus, like you said, you can watch in your pjs and pause whenever you need w/o missing anything.

I will say though that some movies will lose some of their punch on the smaller screen at home, which is why I wanted to see Avatar in the theater, and O.M.G., it was so worth it (at least to me).

:surfweb:Good Morning Everyone:surfweb:

Hope everyone is staying warm, we are just trying to get back into the work mode. How I miss the "Deck 9 Sunrise Club".

Have a good day all!!

Good morning everyone!

Robbie - based on it's box office history I think it will be around for a good long time. Enjoy!

Joanne - I agree. We only go see about 3-4 movies a year and the rest we watch at home. Some years have more we want to see and some less. Yes, some movies just need to be seen in theaters. Usually when we watch the previews it gets one of 4 responses from us:

  • Can't wait to see it in a theater
  • Can wait until we can rent the video
  • Can wait until we see it on TV
  • Have no interest in seeing it

:surfweb:Good Morning Everyone:surfweb:

Hope everyone is staying warm, we are just trying to get back into the work mode. How I miss the "Deck 9 Sunrise Club".

Have a good day all!!

I agree Dave! Wish we were up on deck 9 now enjoying our beverages and discussion. Not to mention the warmth of the Bahamas.

Morning! :goodvibes

I too wish I was sitting on deck 9 with my Pepsi basking in the sun enjoying some lively conversation.

Hey Dave, got any pictures of your trip to share? Would love to see them.

:coffee: Good Morning Deck 9 Sunrisers & all my Friends :coffee:

Well, at least the sun is out this morning! Temps are going up slightly and by the middle of the week they say we will be in the forties - wow!! - heatwave! :rotfl2:

Chris, your weekend sounded great! We haven't done a date night for quite a while - we should! And Joanne is right, around here the prices are much higher, even for a matinee. Although they don't charge for the 3D glasses (yet!). That's why we usually go with your other idea - wait for it to come out on dvd and then enjoy it at home!! There are certain movies, though, that you just need to see on the big screen. Haven't seen Princess and the Frog yet, but John saw the big preview on the Member cruise and said it looked great. Hope to see it soon!

Yes, each day I am checking the forecast to see if the temps are going up in Florida! By the time you guys get there, Chris, it will probably be back to normal. With how cold it has been at night, I'll bet the pools are going to be really chilly! DS & friend really wanted to swim - we'll see! :rotfl:

DBFF just sent us some info on a cool deal that DH is now really excited about. She found this offer from the Richard Petty Driving Experience for Annual Passholders - which we had gotten this year, only because we had this trip and one more in July with our Scouts & England Exchange kids. It is for now until March 31, passholders can go over and get a 3-Lap ride-along for free!! We had scheduled in a "down" day for relaxing - well, now guess who's very happy that I made him put it in the schedule, and guess who is going directly to the Driving Experience. I told him I would think about trying it too. DS is really bummed because the minimum age for the ride-along is 14 - he just misses!

Monika, when do you guys go and where are you staying?

Take me back to Deck 9 !!!!!!!! :worship:
