09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Wow, what a day! We got another 6.5 - 8 inches of snow here. We are over 36 inches of snowfall for the winter so far. Now it is blowing like a banchie out there and like no visibility. We got to leave work early because we don't live in town. When night time comes I wouldn't want to be out driving that is for sure. Then we are also under a wind chill warning. It could get as low as -40 :headache:. Man that is cold.

Brooke is outside right now using her snow paints. Don't want her out there long but she looks like she is having fun.

Hope everyone is staying warm.

Sue - How fun to have him with you.

Chris - We got another 6 inches here today at least. Now they are saying tomorrow it is going to be blowing and cold tomorrow. You have to agree this is one crazy winter.

take care

Hello DIS Friends!!

Okay, so I am going to try this again. I think rather than typing one long note I will break it up into smaller ones. Just so I do not hit the wrong button again. :headache:

Sue - No, we are not going. I was on the fence at the time I sent my note to you. But, none of the other boys in our den are going. I would actually take him but then I would have to get someone to watch DD because their father has to work. I am still trying to catch up on things around the house and think maybe the kids and I will just hang out.

We need to create our job chart so I think we will work on that this weekend. We also need to get the Wii Fit set up for each of us. We will also play some new games the kids got for Christmas. Apples to Apples Jr. Edition and Sequence. I have never played either one of them. Oh, and I also want to play the Toy Story Mania game for the Wii. It has been here for a couple of months now and I have yet to try it out.

Robbie - My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Susan - I also own at SSR. The last time I stayed at SSR (2008) it was my sister and I in a studio. The room was not in the condition you mentioned; however, we could not get some of the drawers open for our clothes. When I called, the person was telling me what I needed to do to get the drawer open. It was obvious this was a 'known' issue. It would not come open no matter what we did. I told the person that it was quite obvious this was a known problem and that they should fix it or not use the room. I know there were a few other small things but I can not recall what they were. We never did get to use the drawers for storage. Kept our things in the suitcase or on hangers. I was disappointed. I think more for the fact that we are owners and it was not up to what I feel should be their standards. Hearing your story makes me even more disappointed.

Hello again. Playing it safe as I mentioned in my last note.

Chris - I can not imagine what it must be like when it is that cold. That just amazes me. My boss, who lives in Andover Mass., on occasion will tell me I should move up to that area. I just :lmao: and tell him, NO! It is too much snow and too cold. If I move anywhere I am heading south. I do enjoy the change of seasons and I like to play in the snow but not all winter long. I am thinking somewhere from Virginia down through the Carolinas. Maybe one day. Who knows. Although I do occasionally check the jobs for Disney. :thumbsup2 You never know. :confused3

Same goes for Flo and Mary in Chicagoland. Brrrrrr! Flo it must be awfully cold heading to work that early in the morning....or that late at night. I guess it depends it you are a night owl or an early bird.

Dave - So glad you enjoyed the trip - for the most part. If only you could pick and choose the people that vacation at the same time as you. Wouldn't that be nice. I think all the rude people should be required to vacation together at one time. Those would be the same inpatient, rude people we are forced to encounter while Christmas shopping. :lmao:

When our family vacation is over Thanksgiving, it is definitely not my first choice of times that I want to go due to the crowds. But, we just plan days into the following week when it is less crowded. I always plan other things on the busiest days instead of standing in line at the parks. It all works out and we have a good time. You really just have to plan ahead and make sure you give yourself lots of extra travel time if you need to get to a reservation. We have even used a taxi on a few occasions instead of using the buses. That is when having a vehicle with you would come in handy.

Mary and Mark - I do have a question for you. So, based on Susan's post you are both on Farmville (or whatever it is called). I was wondering....are you both on at the same time? As I sit here, I am picturing you both sitting in the same room together - maybe even next to each other on the couch - with laptops in your lap working on your farm. :lmao: I have never tried any of the games out there. I barely get on Facebook as it is. I am afraid I would get addicted to it and spend all my time out there playing games. This would be me :surfweb: up all night checking the DIS posts, playing games, and trying to do my school work.

Right now DD got me hooked on a 1000 piece puzzle. It is a Thomas Kincade Victorian Christmas picture. DD's grandmother sent it home with her after the last visit. I promised we would work on it. Well, if you recall I am a Thomas Kincade fan. Love his work!! I helped her get started the other day and then guess who has been left to work on it. Yes, the thrill was gone for DD after the first, let's say 100 pieces. :rotfl2: I actually have stayed away from it the past two days just to make sure I did not stay up late.

Sitting next to it right now thinking of working on a few pieces but I need to be strong and walk away. So, what am I doing? Staying up and typing on the DIS! :confused3

Okay, well I will call it a night. Take care everyone and stay safe and warm.

Still dreaming :cloud9: of the SSMC11 with all of you. Did you all get those savings accounts set up? I seem to recall that was a suggestion a few months back. Start saving up!!

Good Night!!

Oops! One more thing. I know, I know. Why is she still on here posting yet another note. She had said Good Night!!

I just realized I did not say :wave2: to Joanne. Hope all is well!!

Good Night!

This time I really mean it.

Oh, and I just found out today that I got an 'A' in my last class. :dance3:

It has been cold here and lots of snow this morning. Mark has been up and out the door for a few hours now as part of his job is plowing at the plant where he works and one of the other stores as well. Luckily I don't have a far commute.

Yes Mark and I have our own computers. We have a small two bedroom house and we converted the 2nd bedroom into a computer room. Since that is pretty much how we got together it was one of the first rooms we could fully furnish. We have a desk that wraps around so I face one wall, he faces the other and in the middle is the printer, storage and the tv. So there are times when we are both in here on both doing the same thing. What can I say we are geeks. :surfweb:

To everyone effected by this nasty weather stay safe!

Chris, Flo, Mary, Mark, well if you guys just had or are getting more snow, I guess that we'll be seeing more snow in NH in a couple of days. Ok is it time to say that I am already tired of snow this winter?

Disney weather: So based upon the FB posts of some of my friends in FL, it looks like it was warmer here than in FL yesterday! :scared1:

Robbie - My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Thank you so much!

I have to share!

:woohoo::woohoo:I am so excited!:woohoo::woohoo:

I just booked ar December 2009 vacation to the world at SSR in a grand villa.

Lisa - I say good by to sometimes then post again. But then I sometimes think I am brain dead.:)

Robbie - Hope the snow misses you.

:woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo::yay:

I'm so excited for you Flo. That is exciting. But I hoped you booked 2010 instead of 2009. :lmao: Isn't it so hard getting used to the new year ????

How many will be going with you if you have the Grand Villa? It would be so cool to stay in one of those. I bet you have a Grand time. :rotfl2:

Yep, we are in for a warm up next week too. As long as we get through the next couple of days. Tonight we are to be at -19, and that is not wind chill. That is just to darn cold. We are keeping all of the curtains pulled to try to keep the heat in, and our dog doesn't even want to go outside to do her business. But, we are mean and we make her go out. Don't want no accidents in the house! :rolleyes1

Since it is so cold out we are having another exciting Friday night in our house. Me and Brooke on a computer and watching Food Network, Becca in her room doing whatever, and Bobby in the bedroom watching movies. Are we an exciting family or what?

Hope everyone else is having a more exciting night than we are and that everyone is safe and warm. :flower3:

Chris,

Yes 2010.:lmao: You are right it is so hard to put 2010. We have neve been to the world to see it all dressed up for Christmas.

The reason we got the Grand Villa was more for Steven. He has helped us out so much while I was out of work that I told him he could invite his collage friends for the weekend. I know the kids and they are excited to. It is are way of saying thanks. It is also for his 25th Birthday. I am putting the kids upstairs and we will be down stairs.

Your family sound just like mine.:thumbsup2

The cold you are getting today is supposed to hit here tomorrow. I am not looking forward to that. My dog is the Opposite of yours.

Lets all try to stay warm.:)

Flo, that is so cool. We stayed at SSR once but only in a studio; we liked it there. I'm so happy for you. :thumbsup2

When in December are you going? We're booked for 12/5-12/10 and we'll be bringing our littlest DGD Riley who will be 2 1/2 at the time. I can't wait to see her face when she sees everything.

Chris, Mary, and everyone who's experiencing such harsh conditions, please be careful and stay warm and safe.

:rotfl2: I am cracking up thinking of the dog and a commercial that has been on a lot lately here. Your dog might need the Potty Patch. Have you seen it? Oh, it drives me crazy everytime it comes on. The kids are now starting to comment on it based on how much I hate it. Now, every time it comes on DD says.....Yuck, it is just going to teach them to go to the bathroom in the house!!!! That is crazy!!!! :rotfl2: I wonder where she got those ideas?!?:confused3

If you have not seen the commericial, it is basically a piece of fake grass that you put in your house and the animals use to go to the bathroom. :sad2:

And if it is any consolation, I just spent the past 2 hours tallying $10,000 worth of ACME receipts in an Excel spreadsheet while watching Air Force One. Our scout pack submits them and we receive money back from the grocery store. Every little bit helps. So, I would not say your evening was as uneventful as mine.

Stay bundled up out there. Snuggle up  and stay warm.

Technology!! What would the world be like without it? I have been trying to get on Facebook on a daily basis this week just to check things out. I do not do anything but look around, read comments, see what everyone is up to. I send a few messages. Oh, and I actually uploaded my first picture today. I scanned one from the cruise of the kids and I so I at least had a picture. People were giving me a hard time because I had not posted any pictures. It just had that blank screen.

Oh well. I guess I made some progress today. When I get some more time maybe I will upload a couple more.

Take Care :flower3:

It would be nicer if we could all be together chatting in person. I did not have that opportunity on the last cruise with the morning group. It will be on my agenda for the SSMC11! :thumbsup2

Well Good Night Everyone!!

I am sure most of you are already in bed. Hope everyone is having WONDERful and MAGICal DREAMs.

I better get to bed now because the kids and I are going to the bank in the morning to open the vacation clubs. They each have to use $10 of their own money to open their account. This is going to be for their annual passes and special activities for the November trip.

Oh, how could I have forgotten to mention this one. When discussing the vacations club accounts this evening, DD said, 'Yes, this is for our cruise.' I said, 'No, it is for the trip this November at Thanksgiving.' She quickly turned and looked at me and said, 'We are not going on a cruise in November!?!?!?!'

Yikes! Do you think she is hooked on the cruise just after the first one? She actually looked disappointed.

Take Care Everyone. Enjoy your weekend.

Nope, haven't seen that commercial. It sounds gross. Don't think I will be getting that for Tessa any time soon. Yuck! She can tough it out and go outside.

Right now they are saying we are around -9 with a wind chill of -24. Sorry to those East of us that are going to get this weather. It is horrible. Just saw the weather forecast and after today we are to start warming up. Tomorrow it is to be 20. :yay: And that is above zero! :dance3:. Then a gradual warm up through out the week clear up to the 30's.

Well, have a great day everyone. And stay warm. :flower3:

Joanne - Were are you staying? Yes we will be out there then. Would be great to see are table mates.:) This will be are 2nd time there. We had a 2 bed the last time. I am sure your DGD face is going to be precious.:)

Lisa - I have scene that doggie patch commercial. The first time I saw it was when I was out of work. It was so unbelieavlebale that I taped it to show Danny and Steven. I agree with DD yuck!

I was laughing at your DD response. She is hooked on cruising. Good for her.

Big Congrats on you "A". You have worked very hard.:thumbsup2

I noticed that you put a pic on facebook. Nice pic.

Take care everyone. Like Chris said try and stay warm.
