Good Evening DIS Friends!!!
(and Good Morning for those that will not see this until sunrise)
Hope all is well with everyone!
Flo - Something just dawned on me as I was reading through the notes here. I believe you are an empty nester (right??) and as you respond to everyone's posts it is neat how you are always reminiscing about the days when DS participated in the different activities. I can almost picture you sitting at your computer drinking your coffee and smiling as you reminisce about the fond memories. Maybe I am reading in to this but it seems to me like you are ready to be a grandmother. As much as you probably really enjoy having the time to 'do your own thing'. Something tells me you are looking forward to having a little one around to spoil (and then send home of course) and create many more memories. Does DS have a significant other??? Okay, maybe he is still in college. Maybe it is too early yet. But I still think you are ready. Hey, someone else with whom you can share the joy of Disney.
Lisa - Thanks for the above! It meant alot.My DS graduated college in 2004. He is now working. He moved back home ( well if you call it living at home. He isnever here.) Yes, I would love grand kids at some point. I want him to get settled first. He will do a good job showing them his joy for Disney to. he loves it. They grow up so fast that is whay I say enjoy every minute with them. Do all the activies you can with them. I know I do not regreat any of them.
Hey, where's Sue? I did not see her out here.
Agree! Hope all is well?
As for me, I finished up class this week. Had a frustrating ending to the class but it is done and over with and I am not going to re-live the events. Putting it all behind me. Good class but glad it is over.
Glad you are done for a little while. Congrats! Sounds like you could use a
I spent the weekend working on the bathroom. What a job!I removed all the caulking (or whatever you call it) from around the bathtub. I think it had a couple of layers. Yuck! I also ripped out some extra moulding that really served no purpose other than to collect lots of dirt on it and underneath of it. I bleached everything and scrub it all down (walls, ceiling, tub, etc) I put all new caulking in yesterday and had to let that set. I started to paint last night. I did not get any painting done today so hopefully tomorrow I can get it finished. I had one of those....why did I start this moments?....but once I saw how much better the tub looked after doing all that work I was pleased. I figured I was going to have to replace it soon but I can definitely get more use out of it. Other than the toilet, everything in the bathroom is the original from when the house was built many years ago. So, it is not very stylish but serves its purpose. At least the good cleaning and painting should freshen it up a bit. Hey, if I can get more years out of this stuff that means a few extra dollars for vacations!!
Sounds like the bathroom is going to look great. You took on one heck of a job. Good for you.
A real exciting weekend wouldn't you say!Hey, I have to get it done when I can. We have 3 games this week for DS and DD has dance and then there is Halloween next weekend.
I like the way you think.Good luck with the games and dance this week. What are the kids going to be for Halloween.
The kids are off for a 5 day weekend in November for the NJEA convention and then Vet's holiday. That is the weekend we will put up our Christmas tree.I know some may say...WHAT?? Your Christmas tree the first weekend in November. Yup! I love to get that up and out of the way. We do not have a real tree so we can put it up early. It is so much fun being able to take our time as we put the ornaments on. Of course, we have to discuss each one. It used to be that we put it up the weekend after Thanksgiving. But, we started doing our annual family vacation at Disney over the holiday. The first year I did not have the tree up and when we got back everything was so hectic. I did not get half of my decorations up and we really missed the special time of just sitting around enjoying the holiday. So, from that year on my tree was always up before our November vacation.
Sounds like fun for the kids.
We are not even going to Disney for the holidays this year but it has become a tradition now to be the first one on the block with our tree up. We actually get cars stop out front. I am sure they are doing a double take.It really is a lot of fun and leaves me with time to do so many other things. It is definitely a conversation piece when someone drops by in November. I am getting excited just thinking about it.
I see nothing worng with putting the tree up that early. If I could I would. But my family makes me wait till Thanksgiving week. I sart playing christmas music right after Halloweeen. in fact we have a radio station that plays noting but Christmas musick starting November 1st.
Okay, well I have to get the cub scout advancements done before I go to bed. I sat down an hour ago to work on them but got on here first. I know better than to get on here if I really need to get work done.
Hope everyone is able to Stay Healthy with the flu going around.
Lisa
Take care Lisa!
