09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Good Monday Morning!!!

Just got back from my regular check up at the dentist. :jumping1:

Can you see my smile from here? :lmao: Would love a cup of coffee but I hate to have anything after getting the teeth cleaned. Oh well. I do not think I can wait. :surfweb: This will be me the next couple days.

My last class for this session is Wednesday :banana: So that means all nighters to get my paper done. But nothing like the feeling when you are walking out of that last class. :woohoo:

Okay, I can not celebrate too much because I only get one week break before the next class starts. But the best part of that is the professor of that class doesn't even have the syllabus or an outline of the course schedule posted yet. :confused3 Normally that would stress me out at this point but right now I am thinking...:cool1: because what I do not know about I can not stress about. Does that even make sense??

I am getting closer and closer to deciding on booking the WBTA versus the SSMC10 and the Alaska cruise. Still no final decisions but at least that is where my research time has been spent. Just the length of the trip and thinking how much time I will have to just kick back and relax just weeks after I finish my master's program has pretty much convinced me.

SUE - Great job on the walk!!! You are a true INSPIRATION!! :cheer2:

Hey, you are our :cheer2::cheer2:DISNEY INSPIRATION!!! :cheer2::cheer2:

:rolleyes1 Sorry I could not resist.

MARY - Wondering how things are going with you. Have you been able to finish up any last things that needed to be done with regards to your health and the treatments? I seem to recall that you had some things to do after the trip. Not sure if I am remembering that correctly.

CHRIS- Congrats to Becca. Great you could get out and work in the yard this weekend. With the rain here we were all stuck inside.

DAVE - So, have you turned on that heater yet???? It's not November 1st yet!!!! 1 1/2 inches of snow!?!?!?!? I will have to check with my boss and other coworkers this morning since they are up in Mass.

Okay, gotta get off here and log in to work. I have a conference call with the our SAS 70 auditors and some folks across the pond in our Wexford office.

Have a great day!!

Lisa

Lisa-They got to me and the heat has been on :confused3 I saw you post that your company is in Westboro, MA. I am only two towns away, and use to live there. If you saw any of the Patriots footbal game you saw the snow, they were shoveling it off the yard markers :).

Have a great day all!

Sue - Congrats on your walk:) Job well done.:thumbsup2 Hope you get some rest today.

Dave - :scared1: 11/2 inches of snow. Wow! Can you keep it there for a while.:rotfl:

Lisa- Good for you only one more week of class.:) At least you will get a little little rest.

We are supposed to have a nice week here. It is supposed to get into the 60's. We will see.

Have a good week everyone!

Take care

Hi Mary are you going to start a 2010 Board ? Hope you are well ...

Hi Bruce - no I'm going to have to leave that up to someone else. Mark and I won't be doing the 2010 Member Cruise. Instead we are going on a 5 night Bahamas cruise in July. Are you guys planning on doing 2010? If so good luck on call in day!

We won't be calling in either. Tom showed me what we received in the mail today and it just so happens that I had the 2009 mailer. With all the money DVC is making off of us . . . don't you think the DVC Marketing department could come up with a new layout? Oh well! See you real soon! I don't think so!

Good Morning Deck 9 Sunrise Crew and all of my friends!
Have sore ankles, will travel, here!!

Well, I'm back and none the worse for wear - except for two slightly sore ankles! I think the cold and wet part contributed to that, but I can't be sure whether it's that or just plain old age!! hehehe :rotfl:

Thanks Dave, for the thoughts! I'm sure that they helped, especially when it got to the end and the feet weren't moving quite as fast as they did in the beginning! :rotfl2:

We all (my team of four) had gotten up early on Saturday and went over to one of our area malls and did about 7 or 8 miles inside there. It was still fun because there must have been over 500 of us or so just at this one. Some of the Crew came over and set up a little "pit stop" for us in the atrium at the center, with water bottles and snacks. We were hootin' and hollerin' like crazy! And the merchants were really great - some of them even handed out samples and goodies!

Then we were up at 4:30 am yesterday because we had to arrive in Philly before 6:30 and we knew there would be a line to get in - and so there was. (Upon talking to one of the Crew later that day, they were figuring about 2/3 of us would show up to walk since it was still really nasty in the morning - but we showed them! Almost every walker arrived and walked!!)

They opened the route at day break, about 7:05 am and we were off! Still in the rain, about 40 degrees and windy, so the windchill factor was about 34, so they said! :scared1: It wasn't the walk that made me a bit tired, it was the extra weight of all the extra clothes plus raingear!! I hope a lost a pound or two because I sure did end up sweating! I hate rubber rain jackets! Next time it's goretex all the way.

By about 11:00 the rain eased up to a mist and by about 1 pm it had all kinda stopped - except for the rain off the trees and such when the wind would blow - which was ALL day.

But after about 15.4 miles, we all made it to the finish line and closing ceremonies, and it was great!! John, Dustin and Gail were all there to cheer me in! :cool1: And yes, I'd do it again in a heartbeat - it's fantastic!!!! :yay:

Wow! I can't believe that it was so cold & wet for your walk. :worship::worship: Congratulations on accomplishing it!

Sue-You were in my thoughts all day yesterday, how did the walk go? We had 1 1/2" of snow...:confused3 Hopefully the weather was a little better down there.

!.5 inches? Wow when I left Webster yesterday to head home, approx 3 PM, it was still snowing but I didn't see any accumulation.

Started in the evening, while the Pats were on, at Worcester Airport they recorded 1.5

Dave,
I have made several trips to that office in the past. It has been several years though since I have been up. We also had an office right in Boston but they closed that a few years back and relocated people out to Westboro. I doubt I will be making any business trips up that way. I was hoping to take a personal trip up this past year and bring DD. But we never made it with my work and school schedule. She absolutely LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the book Make Way for Ducklings. I promised I would bring her up to see them, do the Duck Tours, and other things. They even opened up an American Girl store in Boston since we started making our plans over a year ago.

I was onsite in Westboro for a 2 week period and DS(10) and his father came up for a long weekend. DS was 3 at the time. We went sight seeing and saw the statues of the Make Way for Duckling ducks and also did the Duck Tours. I had no idea at the time about the book. Needless to say that when DD got hooked on the book, DS announced how he saw them and got to drive the Duck Tour boat. So, you understand the need to make the trip to Boston.

At the time I was travelling, we had both offices and our accomodations were located in Waltham since the group of us had to travel to both offices.

I really enjoyed our trips up there and would love to come back up....but not in the winter. So, maybe a trip this spring.

Sue, I know you have to be up watching that game! How excited are you?

Awesome, just awesome.

One step closer to the big parade. Let's just keep the momentum going.

WOOOO HOOOO!

Darn, the next game is Wednesday night and I have my last class with a final exam. Let's hope my professor is a sports PHANATIC and excuses us from the final. :lmao: I can dream can't I?

Okay, back to the paper.

Lisa-Boston is a beautiful and FUN city to visit. When i first moved here in '83 I would go in to the city on a regular basis. Now, as always, I rarely head into the city, the novelty has worn off and traffic is a pain! How old is your DD that is into the "ducklings"? I know my youngest, DD8, asks about a trip in, as her sister has done the same thing.

Have a great day everyone! :)

Good Morning. I have an early start today. Paperwork is piling up on my desk so I need to get to the office early and doing some typing & filing before my meeting.

Go Phillies! If only the Eagles were doing the same.

Have a good day.

:cheer2::cheer2: :cheer2::cheer2: :cheer2::cheer2:

Yes, Lisa, I am soooo excited!! And old age must be setting in fast - or I can blame it on the Walk - but would you believe I nodded off during the top of the ninth!!!! I woke up this morning and - YES - they WON!! Sometimes with Lidge these days, you close your eyes and just hold your breath!! :lmao:

:) Good Morning Deck 9 Sunrisers and All!! :)

Wanted to say thanks again to everyone for your support of me during the 3Day Walk! Even with the weather - and this was the first time that the event ever had to cancel two days - it was a fantastic experience. but here is the best news of all - with over 4000 walkers signed up - the most I have known to walk in Philly - 3700 showed up in the rain on Sunday. And we raised just short of -

Dave - you echo my feelings about Chicago. I've lived here all my life and used to work downtown but the novelty has really worn off. We rarely go downtown and when we do we try and take the train.

I would go to Boston about once a year from '98 until about '01 as I had a client there. Didn't see much of the city then just a lot of running through Logan airport! :lmao:

Morning All!

Dave and Mary - I agree with both of you. I rarely go into the city any more. I loved it when I worked down there but don't want to deal with the hussle and bussle any more. :)

Sue - You did allot this past weekend any one would be tired.;)

Lisa - Good luck on your test.;)
