09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

Barely home, but here is a first of a first - MY first picture post, of MaNascarFan & Tanya (sp?) being the FIRST in LINE - outside the gate - at nearly 10:00 am. We thought, based on our 2007 experience, that we would be about 1,000th, but we were second. Is it the online booking of Palo's that helped reduce the need to get there so early??

Hey I know them!!!! Great picture, guys! Can't wait to see more!! :yay:

Just checked my e-mails and my TA got me the 7/5 date we wanted and for less than the 7/12 date (guess the 7/5 date included the on board booking discount). We had booked a dummy date on board the member cruise as well.

Also on the good news front I went to the oncologist today and he told me I officially graduated from chemo! I go back to see him every 3 months for blood work etc. Next appointment is in December!

That is fabulous news, Mary! We're so glad to hear it.

I looked up the points for the WBTA and they're not that bad - but the airfare to Barcelona is out of sight!! :scared1:

We got our airfare from Disney and flying from Boston to Barcelona then from Orlando to Boston I believe was around $800.00 each, Including transfers. Did you find different rates?

Sue, it would be so fabulous if you could join Dave, Tanya, and us on the WBTA. That goes for all of you fellow cruisers out there. What a great time we'd have!

We got a quote that included airfare because, frankly, I didn't want to have to deal w/it, plus if Disney books it, they have to make sure our flight makes the trip. For a first time, I'm trying to take out as many places for things to go wrong as possible.

I would love to cruise with everyone of you again.:cool1: you make my heart sing.:cool1:

There seems to be a theme here. We feel the same way, Dianne.

Oh that would be so much fun to all be together again! :cool1:

Amen!

You experienced cruisers may all laugh but the one statement I made from the start was, "By the time the cruise was over and it was time to leave the ship, that is when I would finally start getting the hang of things." That was pretty much it. I look at this adventure as a learning experience. I will be much better prepared next time. Although, I have already told the kids that my next cruise will be with no kids. I love them dearly but I came home much more tired than when I left. I did not think that was possible. :confused3

I also think I would like a longer cruise next time. Want some ME time to just relax. I think maybe that will be a present to myself when I finally complete my masters. A cruise to do what I want when I want!!!

Lisa, we all went through that the first time. And I can tell you for a fact that cruising w/and w/o kids are two completely different experiences. Oh, yeah.

Great pic, Dave and Tanya.

We spent the last few days finalizing stuff in my mom's condo, which required trips to the bank, insurance company, realtor's, title company, etc. Whew, I'll be so glad when this is over. At least the place is empty and clean.

Hi Joanne!
Glad everything is winding down around your mom's things. It's lots of work and I know you'll be glad when it's all over. It's one of those happy yet sad moments.

I can't wait to see more pictures that everyone has! Mine are still in the camera but John promised me that he would download them for me when he gets home from his school board meeting tonight. then I'll post some too!!

It's almost time for the season opener of "NCIS" and the new "NCIS: LA". Well, at least it is here on the eastern shore! Does anyone else love this show!!

I totally understand! Sandi and I were commenting on how this cruise was so much more relaxing than our first one.

Me too! watching it now!

Hi all

Watching Ncis now and Hell's Kitchen is on Tivo.

We're thinking of doing the Alaskan cruise too. Have to check on the weather...but looks like June 15 – July 15 is the best time to visit Alaska. If you want a great web site go to www.alaska.org ....lots of good reading.

Wow, you guys are corrupting me! :rotfl2: I have been thinking about an Alaskan cruise for some time, but was targetting '12 for it. Also, I have to admit, that I was looking at Holland America because they have some nice land/sea packages. Now you guys are making me think about the DCL cruise! :lmao:
