09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 4!

I do have some questions to ask...

I have never taken or purchased any type of medication for motion sickness. I am not sure if we will need it but I just realized I better get something just in case.

Do you have any recommendations as to what to purchase?

Has anyone ever used it for kids? Do they make something for kids?

Help!!

Another question...

For those experienced CC members, when you are sitting along the beach at CC are the parasailers close enough that someone on the beach could be video taping you?

Or, do most people bring the video camera on the boat?

That really worries me bringing it in the boat.

Wow Lisa you are non Stop!

Hope class goes well for you today. Is it the last before vacation?

I think you will fall a sleep at the BCV. But wakeing up there will be so nice.

See you soon.

Tonight is the first class of my first Fall class. I will miss the 2nd week while we are cruising and will have a paper due on the 3rd week. :scared1:

Hopefully I can get a little bit of an extension on the paper. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I will be up on deck 9 getting my coffee at the latest 6:30. That will seem like sleeping in :lmao:

Will you be meeting at the Cove Cafe or the Beverage station on deck 9?

Never mind. Just saw the answer to my own question......The Sunrise Coffee Club will meet each morning at around 6:30 a.m. at the Beverage Station on Deck 9 with Dave (manascarfar) and Sue (SusieQ)....:surfweb:

Not close enough on CC unless you have an extremely great zoom lens.

We took ours on the boat. In fact, took it up and shot while up in the air parasailing. No problems. You might just want to carry in a ziploc bag if you are worried though.

Sometimes, it can be just a little rougher than I like it leaving Port Canaveral, so I generally take 1/2 bonine (purchased over the counter at Walmart) about 12 noon on the day we sail.

I would ask the pharmacist at Walmart if kids can take this, not sure.....

If you folks would be so kind, I would like as many of you as you can to gather at the Conched Out Bar on one of your days at Castaway Cay. Then I would like you to ask the DJ to put on a Jimmy Buffett song, preferably "Margarittaville", purchase an adult beverage (They had two-for-ones last year),and raise a toast to your favorite Swan and Pirate scorekeeper.(That would be me) If possible, please get the whole fiasco on film/digital picture/video all-of-the-above!!! THAT would make me very happy and make the whole thing worthwhile.

Cheers! Will do!!

Dianne,

I am sorry to hear that. It is not an easy decision. I have been there.

Dianne, consider yourself hugged  . We've also been there and it was one of the hardest things we ever did.

Hey, that's a tough job but somebody's got to do it :lmao: .

On another note, your kitty boy is beautiful. I hope he brings you much joy.

Yes, the coast is a nice short ride, especially Cocoa Beach, in case you were wondering about that, too.. It takes me 25 minutes to get from my door to clock in at the French Quarter or Saratoga Springs. We can get from our house to the parking lot at EPCOT in just under 30 minutes! How about them apples?:banana::banana::banana:

Lucky you....

I can't speak to the kid's dosage, but we've taken Bonine w/no problems (and we had 25-35' swells during a hurricane, which the captain tried to skirt). You can check w/your local pharmacist; they'd be able to help.

they make both Dramamine and Bonine for adults and kids... but Bonine is reccommeneded for 6 yrs and up, while the dramamine can be cut in half and used at age 2... at least that is what I read on the packages. I also confirmed with the pharmacist.

Well, I am off to make dinner, than watch Obama's speech tonight... while finishing my FE gifts!!

We are ready to go, and we will be leaving in the morning! I will be on later tonight... not sure about the morning! We will see how early I get up!!

This time tomorrow I will be in disney!!

Chiming in as a former SSMCer - We took our kids one a 7 day and the last night was very rough. There were 4 families traveling together, and all of us had kids. One family had their kids on the patch the entire cruise. Kids ranged from 7 - 16. We gave our daughter Bonine (I do better on that than Dramamine for some reason) - she was 14. I had a head injury in '84, and since then, I get motion sickness. I take a Bonine each night starting the night before the cruise, and I have never had a problem. Enjoy the cruise!

You will be my new best friend if you want to take over diaper duty!! Ha!!

in all seriousness if you need help, i would help you!

I will have a virgin drink and partake in the celebrate that we will call garypoloza!:cool2:

What's for dinner everyone?

We had popeyes tonight. It was so good. It has been a while.

Hello!

Could someone let me know if there is an iron in our cabins and a blow dryer...I am pretty sure about the blow dryer, but can't remember about an iron??

thanks everyone!

No iron in your cabin, but your steward will press whatever you might need ironed.

I'm the newbie at all of this, and have thoroughly enjoyed everything - the chatting, getting to know people, and the game - so its up to everyone else! It has made getting ready for this vacation a truly memorable time for my entire family. Thanks to all who have been involved!

We leave early (and I mean early) tomorrow morning and probably won't have a computer handy - so after I say my goodbyes in the really early AM I will be off until I see everyone on (hopefully) Saturday or definitely Sunday! So, that being said, I will be totally surprised by who wins - that will be cool!!! :cool1:

Hi! I will be leaving early tomorrow also. Have a safe trip!

Our new kitty boy, rescued from an animal shelter.

Awww how cute!

What time is everyone getting onboard? I am not sure how early we can get there!

I'm still not totally sure, but I am hoping to get there between 11:30 & noon.

Good morning everyone - Happy Wednesday. Today is my last day of work until the 21st. :cool1:

This time tomorrow we will already be on the road and out of Chicago already.

Tonight we'll go out to dinner, pack away the few essentials that we needed until today, and then pack the car.

Hopefully we'll see a number of you at the Saturday DIS meet and then everyone else at the onboard meet. We may even see some of you around the parks or Boardwalk area. A couple of years ago we were getting out of the car at Boardwalk and someone called out my name. :lmao:

Mary and Mark - safe travels! We hope to see you on Saturday.
