09/13/09 SSMC09 S.S. Member Cruise 2009 - Part 3!

Complete what set? Is there a special set of just DVC pins other than say "year" ones? DS likes to do trade the pins, I just like to buy them!!

The ones I am looking for all say "Heard the best kept Disney Secret?" and they have a character with a raised ear. I believe the original was Pluto. I also have Goofy, Stitch, Lady & the Tramp, and now Dumbo. I was told by a DVC cast member that there are only 6, so I'm just missing Timon. These have been out for quite some time. They are not sold, just given out by DVC at specific locations. When we got the Lady & the Tramp pin, I was told they were only handing them out on the cruise ships, so anyone else had to find someone to trade or find them on eBay.

Good morning everyone. I had a wonderful weekend with my parents. They enjoyed spending time with their grandson and he with them. The weather was beautiful on Sunday for the drive back.

Of course, I had a lot of pages to catch up on. I wish I could have been here for the sailaway party but in less than two weeks now we will be on the Wonder for the sailaway party.

Got to the old house today and sure enough there was the package sitting on the front porch. Woohoo!

We will be starting the drive on Friday the 11th and driving into the Beach Club Saturday morning.

See you all at the meet on Saturday afternoon.

Glad your package was there. We will be starting our drive on Thursday, Sept. 10. We will also be staying at BCV before the cruise. Can't wait to meet you (and everyone).

We have a family emergency fall upon us and we have had to cancel going on the cruise. My wife and I are heartbroken as we looked forward to the cruise so very very much.

Today's tip is to help you stay healthy on the cruise. You've all heard of Norwalk - some of us more than we'd like While there hasn't been a Norwalk outbreak recently but the lessons learned from it can help us all.

The key? Wash your hands, wash your hands, wash your hands! Seems simple but it is amazing how many people don't do it.

So here's your tip to make sure you and your child are washing long enough. Water, soap, start rubbing and then sing "Happy Birthday". Yep by the time you sing the birthday song you've rubbed long enough to get rid of those germs then rinse and dry.

So "happy birthday" and here's to a great germ-free cruise!

And yes, the weather here is chilly too. Just like Mary, 50's this morning and low 70's by later in the day. Sure does cut our pool time with weather like this. We were hoping to get some more sun before the cruise. Hopefully this weekend will straighten up and be nice so we can be by the pool.

Lisa because this is a charter all cash had to be paid up front. So whether you do all cash, half cash or whatever all cash needs to be done up front. For a regular cruise (not a charter) you put a required deposit down and then you just have to be paid in full by a certain date but you can pay it off as you wish.

My hubby is in downtown disney right now... I'm so jealous!! I want to be there! Today is the arrival day for all of his supervisors for the safety meeting that he's holding down there. Of course, he went to Captain jack's and got a strawberry margarita... then sent me a pic of it. They are my favorite!!

I have two kids in bed- waiting for a movie to be over for the last one to get to sleep. Then... what to do with myself? I'm thinking of starting a fire- it's a nice cool night out, and playing with my scrap book stuff.

Ahhh, won't that be nice!

That sounds great!! We love having fires outside but it is hard to do when it gets so hot and humid. This should be a great week to have evening campfires. Hope you enjoyed your evening!!

So... has anyone ever eaten at that dino place in downtown disney? I know it's own by rainforest, so I am guessing it's good- but looking for confirmation!!

We have not yet eaten there. We were supposed to last year but never made it. I promised DS that we would go this year. Our plan was to go over upon arrival to BVC. Once we check in we were going to head over to Downtown Disney for lunch. We fly out of Philly around 7am on 9/11. We love going early so we can check in and then head out for fun in the sun. We tend to go more in the October and November time frame with the rest of the family (parents, sister, aunt, uncles, etc) Often times over Thanksgiving so the kids love to hit the pool first thing. But since it is still hot here we do not have to worry about hanging around the pool when we first arrive.

Any other pin traders out there? We're not as crazy as some, but we enjoy trading pins. My two year old traded probably a dozen times yesterday. He would trade a pin and then a few minutes later trade it for another one. It didn't matter what it was, he just enjoyed the trade. I was also excited to find the Dumbo DVC pin, all I need now is Timon to complete the set. We'll definately have our pins ready to go on the cruise.

Looked at our collection and we don't have a duplicate of that. Sorry. I did find I have a lot of duplicates so I'll bring my small pin bag with our duplicates. Would love to trade!

Yes, it is cooler here also. I turned off the air and we opened up all the windows. I love it!!! I love summer but I always love a nice cool day now and then to freshen things up. I hate having the house closed up for long periods of time.

As for the last Monday...I am hoping this is my last Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday this week. I asked to have all of next week off in addition to my regular scheduled vacation. Not sure yet as I have lots to get done at work this week. I am going to work very very hard to get it all done.

Good Monday Morning, everyone!

A chilly start to our morning here in Jersey, and it's only supposed to get to a high of about 74. So, with lots to do in the house, with still sorting and putting DS's room back together, it's off with the air-cond. and open those windows!!

Although the FE gifts are all done, now just have to put my extender together, but that shouldn't take me that long. Need to get down the suitcases today and see what will fit where. DS is getting bigger, and therefore the clothes are too, so he may need a little more space in his bag (or a bigger one).

And even though I've gone through DH's clothes and DS's clothes, I have as yet to check on my wardrobe, what there is of it, to see if I'm set for the cruise or not. Better get on that today too!!! Gee, that must make all of you who are already and packed just slightly crazy!!

I have a friend who LOVES Jimminy Cricket...and he keeps telling me that there was once a Jimminy Cricket cruise pin...anyone ever see it?

Yeah, isn't it rough? He's given me weather updates and he's gone to the Christmas store to look at ornaments. Each visit, we get at least one... sometimes we get one for each kid and have them personalized. My goal is to have a disney Christmas tree!!

Do they sell special Christmas stuff on the ship? Or would I be ok to get ornaments through the regular store?

You know, that is what I have to do for the kids. I always pick up a bunch of ornaments at the Christmas store and then think...oh, this isn't enough and put them back...I need to just start slow...I am so impatient. One of my biggest faults. You have inspired me to start a Disney ornament collection for my grandkids...I will get one on each trip for them...and maybe I will put up 4 small trees in my house and they can start their own little Disney trees.

Funny, I've been looking for brown dress shoes- more like sandals, cuz I'm not big into heels... and I can't find any!! I'm wearing flip flops to Palos! Well, if I can't find anything, that is! No one needs to be snooping around my feet anyway!!

Oh, my gosh, that is my trouble too. I have worn crocs and sneakers and nurses shoes for so long that nothing fits me...and heels, well forget that.
I can remember wearing heels all the time...of course you know that's not good for you...it shortens your achilles tendon...but I am always at a loss for shoes on the cruise..I will put on these black ugly sandles and hobble to Palo's and back...but otherwise, I will wear my crocs...and I had so much pain in the balls of my feet on Friday, I saw our podiatrist here...he gave me new inserts to life my heel and told me my "wide" size Nu Balance sneaks are not wide enough because I pronate then I walk...oh lordie, just let me wear the boxes...getting old is not easy

Thanks, Flo. Yeah, sometimes the two palms cam gets stuck on me, and I have to refresh it. Oh well, it was great seeing it on the other cams.

I couldn't see the ship...all I saw was this other ship in the way...and then I had to miss the sail away...DH had taken Cameron mini golfing and I hate mini golf...like I said I have no patience and I just want to throw the ball in the hole or throw the club or something...and so I had to go out to dinner with everyone since I begged off from mini golf. We all had fun, but I hated to miss the ship again!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've been having Internet connection issues for almost two weeks and are still having some, but I was able to get online for a little while today. Here are a couple pics from our Bay Lake Tower stay a few weeks ago. You can view more pics here. All of the pics are taken in the resort, from the top of the tower, or the bridge connecting to Contemporary.

We're so excited with just two weeks left to go. Most of our FE gifts are ready to go, just have to finish creating our FE's.

Buttton Production Is Officially Done!

We finished up button production today. Mark had them all printed already and today we made the buttons, put them in the individual envelopes and they are packed and ready to head to FL.

You will be able to pick up your buttons at either the Saturday afternoon DIS meet at the Beach Club or the Sunday afternoon DIS meet on board. If you don't make either of them they will be delivered to your stateroom fish at some point during the cruise but we don't guarantee when.

Had fun with Makayla at the Harrisburg Senators' baseball game...I put pictures up on facebook of Makayla in Kyle Bush's car and also her with Sponge Bob. My SIL hates Kyle Bush and it was so funny to torment him with those pictures. I got my favorite hotdogs with chili, onions and mustard...ummmm. And it was M&M night and on the way out...free Snickers and M&M's...WooHoo.

Yes I was talking about the 9/11 pens all DVC Members got right after 9/11.
I have been told there value is quit high because there engraved on the back. In rebemberence of 9/11. Only DVC Members received these pens.
Oh ya Nancy and I ended up paying cash for our Oct cruise so we will have all of this years points plus next years which will be 400+ points. So we will have plenty to spread around HA HA.
