Morning everyone hope all had a great weekend. I hope it warms up very cool last night in chicago area. Who has a short week this week

The ones I am looking for all say "Heard the best kept Disney Secret?" and they have a character with a raised ear. I believe the original was Pluto. I also have Goofy, Stitch, Lady & the Tramp, and now Dumbo. I was told by a DVC cast member that there are only 6, so I'm just missing Timon. These have been out for quite some time. They are not sold, just given out by DVC at specific locations. When we got the Lady & the Tramp pin, I was told they were only handing them out on the cruise ships, so anyone else had to find someone to trade or find them on eBay.

I do indeed have an extra Timon, so if you are interested I'll bring it. Do you by any chance have an extra Stitch or Goofy to trade for? Also, if anyone is interested in Lady & the Tramp pins, I've got extra of those, too. LMK.

Hi Joanne!

I would love one of the Lady & the Tramp pins, mostly because they are one of my favorites! What could I bring to trade? Looking for anything? :)

Sue,

No problem. I love Lady too; always did. If you have anything cute, that'll be fine. I like Stitch, Bambi, Mickey, but I'm really not fussy. I don't have a lot of pins, so lmk if you have any suggestions or extras.

oh no please lets no let this board go the route of pin trading. lol I have a cpl hundred pins and not sure what to do with them. I have thought about selling on ebay but really don;t want to deal with the hassle. I am not even sure which pins I have. The kids started to get them many years ago and now they just sit in a bag.

Two of my boys have collected pins for years. So that they didn't sit in a drawer somewhere, I made them a wall hanging out of heavy duty felt material. Just sewed a pocket across the top, slid a nice sized wooden dowel in, and tied some nice colored cord at each end to hang it from. It looks great on the wall, and they can add or subtract from it anytime they want.

Oh, gosh, Disney pins...I was an obsessive pin collector when this first started 1999 into the millenium...I had to have them all...some were very valuable like the Mickey for President back then...I think I sold that for $175 and the matching Mickey presidential seal for about the same...I had every holiday collection and oh, it was a sickness...I would see some of those poor souls in WDW without decent shoes but they had thousands of pins and I envisioned myself living in a cardboard box one day surrounded by my pins. So to kick the "habit" I sold them all on ebay. It was an entire summer project, I would list and collect, DH would box and ship. And I just have stayed away from them, with the exception of an occasional cute one that I see like the flip flop pins, and Mickey in the yellow rain slicker and some other ones from the 50th Anniversay of DL, but I only have maybe 25 pins in all.
Never again, NEVER NEVER again. I also sold all of my Boyd's bears before Boyd's had to declare bankruptcy...another obsession. So now I am just a DVC freak and again, like I said 5 contracts...NO MORE. You know, I am seeing a pattern here...maybe I need a 12 step program.:rotfl2::lmao:

When DH sees me just glancing at a pin, he drags me away.

I know what you mean, on some of our trips from 2000 to 2005 I would come home with a couple of hundred, if not thousand, dollars of disney pins. I was addicted to the AP Pins, DVC Pins and anything else limited edition I could get my hands on. They now sit in my like 6 Pin bags collecting dust. Maybe now that we won't be going on vacation in the summer anymore and going in November and December instead I will have the want to wear a lanyard and actually do some trading. :confused3

I do have a ton of pins but I was never heavy into the trading. I have 6 shadow boxes of them in the computer room from when we first started but ran out of room. Now I have them in two of the pin bags. I go for ones that mean something to me and I look at those pins like I look at my scrapbooks. Some of the ones I have duplicates are some that we got as gifts from DVC and some I just bought extra because I don't know why:confused3. I've really slowed down over the years and now only get ones that really really mean something to me.

I don't know of a Jiminy Cricket cruise pin but I can tell you one of our raffles is a very special DVC Jiminy Cricket pin. :) Maybe you'll get lucky and win it for your friend. Or maybe you'll just keep it for yourself.

Sorry. Didn't mean to start trouble. I was just trying to help a fellow DVCer.

Sue, that is so funny. I've got bags and boxes of Boyd's (including the original Bailey). I was pretty obsessive about them until we got a dog, and then some grandbabies. Now most of my extra $ is spent on them. Wouldn't it be nice if they like bears and Disney (not that there's much choice on the latter ;) ). Fortunately with the pins, I only buy one or two a trip (the ones I just can't pass up, like the one w/Walt and Mickey that opens up).

When I bring up to my kids lets display these somewhere. I also get oh ok but you do the work. I have started to say if you are not interested anymore and that is understandable then we should do something with these pins I get no resistance.

Well I have good news to share...I was able to start my last chemo today. So come Wednesday when I get unplugged I'll be done with chemo.

Not to say that it will all be over. I have to have surgery to remove the port when we come back from the cruise and will have many tests over the coming years, but it is an important milestone.

Thank you all for your support over the past 7 months. It really means a lot to me and has really helped.

Wow, Mary! That is fantastic news! I know it must not be pleasant at all, but that fact that you know now that you are DONE is terrific and must help in some little way. :lovestruc My prayers will continue to be with you during the many tests to come. They aren't all easy and sometimes it's like holding your breath forever, but continue to stay strong! Happy Thoughts are with you - now and always! :yay:
