Did I read on someones post yesterday about a Captains night or Formal Night?

I did not think this cruise had anything which we had to dress up for.

I had not planned for dressy clothes. Do I need to?

No dressy on this cruise - mostly only on the seven day cruises. But I like dress-up night, so I guess I'll have to book a seven day cruise soon!!

Dianne, do you like Facebook? I have heard good things but then I heard some real horror stories about what gets said or posted! Do you feel secure with it?

I know you asked Dianne but I do like Facebook. It is a way of keeping in touch with family and friends. Plus, you can set your privacy settings so that it will be a little more secure. And, the games are quite addictive and free. I play Farm Town and Mafia Wars.

The easiest way to find people is through their email address, especially, if they have a common name.

I don't know of any thread for the kids. I have a 13 yr old boy who will be doing the teen club when we get on board and he can't wait. We have been on a couple of cruises with DCL and his older brothers went there when he was in the kids clubs (where he had tons of fun too). But now he thinks he's a big shot and can't wait to go the the Stack. He can be pretty quiet until he gets to know people - but then he's fine. He is signed up for the Wild Side program on the second day we are at CC (Wed.) and if she's active, which she sounds like she is, that might be something she should consider. It sounds like fun and Dustin is looking forward to that alot. If she wants to actually "post" with Dustin to ask some questions, we could set up a time and I'll make him a profile so they can chat - I'm sure he'd be fine with that - why not, he texts everyone else in the world!

Last cruise we were on was a few years ago, but back then, we just about saw him at dinner. Otherwise he was at the club. I'm thinking, and hoping, that it will be about the same. Not that I don't want him around, because he is my last little one (he'd not be happy with that term) and he's fun to be with. But I think they all have more fun with kids their own age.

So let me know if your daughter would like to chat - we'll see what we can do. Hope this helps a little.

My kids will not be going with us this time but I will tell ya that our oldest DD did the Wild Side program on the members cruise in 2007 and had a blast.

And what is great about a cruise is that it is three vacations in one! Parents alone, kids alone and then family time. It is a win - win for everyone I think! On our cruise last October we hardly ever saw our then 12 year old. She was always doing something with friends. And they knew to find us by the adult pool.

Hope your kids have fun on this cruise.

I am not Dianne but I will say I did not want to do it at first. But now i like it. It is a way to keep up with people you have not talked to in a while.

I have found allot of people I used to work with and it is nice to see what they are doing in there life.

So many people have been bugging me to get on. And DS of course wants to because his friends are on. I'm okay with it I guess. But I'm worried that if I let the DS have a page, he might write something - before he thinks - and then it will be broadcast everywhere!!

Oh yes, I hear that is the best for his age! When Dustin was little it was Blues Clues, Little Bear and Mickey, of course! How is he doing in school? Is he still having the shouting issue?

He is doing better in school. He is now using his walking feet and inside voice inside the classroom. However, he has picked up this annoying habit of saying "no" to just about everything even when he means yes.

I hardly have time to keep up with facebook. I'm on it, not too often however, but I prefer the Dis. I have a hard enough time keeping up here! Look how many posts we have had in the last couple of days!

Yea, that would be me too. He's a really smart kid, but just blurts things out sometimes - although those things might be true - but probably not said aloud, if you know what I mean!!

As for dressing up on the cruise, we love to do it. It is the only time we really get to do it.
