Well the celebration will have to wait on the chemo. My platelets were too low to get it so I'm scheduled for next week. If by chance the numbers still aren't good he's fine with delaying the last treatment until after we get back.

Mary, so sorry that you could not get your last treatment today. You will be in my prayers.

1ST CALL FOR THE MINI NAVIGATOR!

Okay all.......

as many of you know I do a Mini Navigator for the Member Cruise each year. It will include the disboard name, first names (no ages), stateroom numbers, and fish extender information for each family on the cruise. I use Mary and Mark's official list and the information Flo has already sent me for the Fish Extender exchange.

In addition, there will be dates, times and places for any official (or unofficial) gatherings of our group. These include the pre-cruise get together, the info on the buttons that Mark and Mary so generously provide our group, the sailaway party and pre-sailaway party and the group pirate pictures.

So, if anyone has anything they are planning that isn't on Mark and Mary's page, please PM me the info so I can add it in.

In addition, I am happy to add any celebrations during the cruise. PM me the person(s) name(s) and what they are celebrating and the date of the celebration so I can put it under the correct date.

Okay, I think that's it.

Oh.....DEADLINE FOR SUBMITTING: THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 3RD 5 P.M. MOUNTAIN TIME!

Each stateroom will receive one copy of the mini-navigator. You will receive it at one of the get togethers or if I haven't met you by the time we board it will show up in your fish mail before we sail at 5 p.m.

DIS Meet Reminders

The First DIS Meet - Pre-cruise:


Saturday, September 12th 3PM Eastern time
The Solarium in the Beach Club

This is an optional meet for anyone who comes down early, if you get there, cool, but just as cool if your first meet is onboard the ship! This is a no time limit meet. Just come and mix and mingle and get your buttons. A good way to get to know each other.

The Second DIS Meet - Sailing Day:


Onboard the Wonder Sunday, September 13th 3pm
Promenade Lounge

Try and get there early. We are going to have a small raffle (nothing big just little things we've collected over the years that we have duplicates of and would like to find good homes for them).. Also we'd like to have some time to do a group picture like last year.

We are watching the little league World Series on Williamsport,PA. i love to watch baseball. It is NY and Iowa. They are in the beginning stages of this. Iowa is not doing so well.

Totally off topic, but has anyone checked out rental car prices recently?

I started looking last week for my December trip and the prices were outrageous! I like having a car so that I can go to the grocery store, drive to other resorts, etc. Plus I am doing some of the DAP events and based upon Mousefest last year, having a car is a plus.

I finally found an almost OK rate with Dollar so I booked that, but I sure hope that the rates some down.

We finally got our cruise documents! Wendy will be so excited when she gets home. Her name was on the envelope and I refused to open them until she got home. My brother didn't think I should wait, so he opened them. This way I get to blame him.

Some of you mentioned printing out the online check in forms... I didn't see a print button, or anything that said I should print them- am I missing something??

Well, nighty night ya'll. I do need to go to bed so I can wait by my front door for the Sears guy between the hours of 8 and 12. I have nothing else better to do with that kind of time!!

Hi All!!

It's been awhile since I've posted. I've been so busy and it's all I can do to keep up with everyone!! I have a 14 yr old daughter who I'm trying to get to get active on the boards before the cruise. She claims she "doesn't know how" to start conversing or getting in touch with other teens who will be on this cruise. (Yea right, a teen who doesn't know how to text/email? I told this child of mine that she'd better be careful or she's going to have arthritis in her thumbs before she's out of high school!) Is there anyone who has a teen who will be sailing with us? She's a little shy in new situations but really opens up after she feels comfortable. She dances and is on the pom/dance team for school, so she's not a wall flower but I can definitely see her attaching herself to mommy and daddy if she doesn't already have some contacts to "break the ice". I don't want her to miss out on anything for this trip. This is our first cruise EVER and I've heard so many fun things about the kid's club and the teens club. (Not to mention, it would be fun for mom and dad to have some adult time.) The 9 and 11 yr old are completely on board (no pun intended) with getting into the kid's club right away!

So.....with all of that being said, is there a thread somewhere, just for teens on the 09 Member Cruise, where she can introduce herself and get to know some of these kids before we set sail? Any help you can give would be fabulous!! I set her up on the boards with her own sign-on. Thanks!
