Loved the picture of the Wonder sailing out yesterday. Can't wait. :yay:

I don't know about the rest of you but I am getting excited! The day I was able to secure a cabin, I started a weekly countdown in my office so everyone can see. Once the weeks were less than 100 days, I changed the countdown to days. Some people may think this is crazy but there are about5 people in my department now own DVC. Anyway, besides for Mary's weekly update (totally appreciated) do you have a special way to count down the weeks/days/hours/minutes/seconds :lmao::rotfl2:

Annmarie

Annmarie - we have a countdown counter on the computer that we got off the DVC website. My DH looks at it and reports the days to me every morning while getting ready for work. We set the counter as soon as we have something booked so it has been counting down for a long time!

Have a great day everyone! :flower3:

Hello my fellow SSM09 Cruisers!

Below is the list of people that are participating in the Fish Extender exchange so far.

If you sent me and e mail or PM and do not see your name please re send. I do not have it, sorry.

Also, everyone has two in the room except were I have it listed.

If you need the information on what the Fish Extender is all about or would like to know who to notify if you would like to par take, please see the first post on the first page of this thread.

The ones that have ** in front of them have one adult in the room. The ones that have *** have 3 adults in the room and the ones that have **** have 4 adults in a room.

So far there are 31 cabins.

Please keep in mind the cut off to participate in the Fish Extender exchange is August 12, 2009. This way it gives everyone time to get there items.
If any one would like a list with room numbers and such before the SSM09 send me an e mail (girlwolf@excite.com) or PM me your e mail address and after the cut off I will send you the spreadsheet.

:happytv: Hello everyone.... IT is time to get excited 2009 member cruise

good to be back on line

:yay:

Hello Pinocchio :)

:welcome: aboard. Looking forward to meeting you. 8 weeks....we are all very excited. This will be our 2nd members cruise. Our first one was 2008.

Take care....Monika :flower3:

You know, I was just checking the member cruise website, and discussing things with DH, and remembered a conversation that DBFF and I had with Jim Shore, the artist that I'm sure most of you know with his Disney character sculptures, thru Enesco, when we were at a special event where he was signing his pieces. He said that his "people" were talking with Disney about having him on a special cruise this fall with new and cruise-only edition pieces. I wonder if our "secret" is Jim Shore!

Haven't seen any advertising for a Jim Shore cruise this fall - anybody else seen or heard anything about one? Jim Shore is a favorite of mine and I have several signed pieces now.

That would be nice to know. I have a couple of smaller pieces I would be willing to bring to have him sign if I knew 100% that he was going to be on the ship.

This will be us in 8 weeks. This photo was taken from RonJon cam.

Take care....Monika:flower3:

If it weren't for the smoke stacks, I would almost swear that the ship was docked in shallow water and the people on the beach were from the Wonder!

Can anyone tell me how to get two reservations linked for Dinner on the DVC Cruise? A couple we met on last years cruise and us want to link up for the dinners again but I am not sure what information I need or who to call.

Thanks,

You just need to call DCL with your full information (full names and reservation number) and thiers. Simple as that.

We've linked with a family we met 5 years ago and have sailed with 4 times before!

Annmarie,
Thank you for the fantastic welcome. Loved the icon. Hope I can learn to do that. I'm not the greatest on the computer.

I am also a bit shy but can warm up easily. I think you idea of a VOW renewal would be a blast. Hope you go for it. I can't imagine a better place to renew your VOWs or to get married.

I have 2 more weeks until retirement. Yippie! Our son will be coming home from college in Aug. DH (Smilling Jack) and I will take him on a short DCL cruise before he returns back to school. He loves DCL.

Look forward to meeting you,
Andrea (Smillingjacks DW)

Hello everyone,

Life is finally back to normal. Both DH & I were able to put in a full day at work since DS had the all clear to go back to daycare. He had a tiring day though and is taking a nap now.

I had a "Disney" evening last night. I spent the evening watching Disney weddings and Yard Crashers. Both were epsiodes that I had on my DVR that I hadn't seen before. The Yard Crasher episode featured a family that was selected to help with an exhibit at the Flower & Garden Festival at Epcot. It is amazing how much work goes into making all of those topiaries.

Marsha,
I'm so glad that things are back to normal for you and that DS is finally feeling better - although I'm sure that you still miss that cuddling!

What channel were those two shows on - they sound really good.

I almost forgot to say Congratulations on the pirate: & princess: !!!

Chris - I use the pocketwatch DVC countdown on my home computer. What a better way to wake? ;)

:wave2: Andrea - There is a list of smilies on the DIS and you can post it into your response. I don't know if you read my prior posts or not but I am shy. I thought it would be a lot different "talking" to people you "know" than meeting them.

I will say, going to the ice breaker/DVC meet where Mary and Mark give out pins with our name, Dis name etc). It was nice to put a face with a name (both DIS but also real name). While I say this was a good way to break the ice, at first all I could see were people who had cruised together and already knew each other. This went away as soon as someone came over and wanted to finally meet me. The social gathering certainly was a good event to attend. This way, when you see others on the beach or walking around the decks you may remember them. Another thing I would recommend is to do the grouped dining. SSMC05 we decided we would eat wherever Disney sat us. Afterall, we were all DVC members! I think we would've had a better experience. Sorry to throw so much at you but I'm just writing as I think of things. I am also sure that others will put in their $0.02 0one of the reasons I like this place. My final comment (at least in this message - :rotfl:) one good thing about being on the ship or at Castaway Cay, you don't have to get involved with DIS people if don't want to. You can be off to the adult pool area or stay at the Family pool. It is all up to you is how vacation turns out.

Wow! I wish I could retire . . . never mind in only 2 weeks. Good for you! Our son graduated from college in 2004. Still dealing with the empty nest but we found DVC & DCL very theraputic :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I also look forward to meeting you,

Annmarie

Glad to know DS is better. Darn! I forgot that Epcot / HGTV was on! I could've DVRd and that way DH could watch (or yell at the TV) because the Redsox were losing! :lmao: (I'm not laughing because they lost! I get a kick out of a grown man yelling at the screen! Do you think they would play better? lol!

I'm glad things are getting back to normal too. I do miss the cuddling. The Disney wedding was on WeTV and the Yard Crasher episode was on D.I.Y network (I think).

Dianne, since my b'day falls on 12/27, you can believe I'll NEVER get to celebrate it at WDW! But, you know, that's small change compared to taking our DDs and DGDs to WDW  .

I know what you mean but mine is only 10 days before the cruise. Shame Disney won't give me free admission for having a birthday in that month, since I won;t be there on my birthday,

Ok for all those keeping track, DH has recovered pretty much from the knee surgery and is being released, to go back to work.

So tomorrow its off the the Union Hall to see if there is a job for him. He said there are 2 calls for a job tomorrow, So we are keeping our fingers crossed.

Oh well if it dosen't happpen tomorrow, thats OK, he can then go to Therapy in the morning. He says the more he walks the better the leg feels.

Good morning everyone - happy Tuesday!

Marsha - glad that things are looking back to normal at your house.

Diane - happy to hear that your DH is doing much better and can go back to work. Good luck on him getting something today that won't tax him too much but will get him moving more.

Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning.

Glad your DS is better Marsha. Always hate little ones being sick.

Diane - good to hear your DH is doing better. He is probably anxious to get back to some kind of work. Hope all goes well for him today.

Annmarie - thanks for the insite as to the meet. We won't be at the meet before the cruise but we are going to try and make the one on the ship. I know we went to the meet last October on our cruise and it was fun to see the people to whom I had been chatting with. Then when you would see them around the ship you always had a "Hi" or "Hello" or a friendly smile. That was so nice. And I think it will even be better for this cruise! :thumbsup2

Have a great day! :flower3:
