Would anyone have any ideas for a limo company from WDW to the port? Thanks!

If there are just 2 of you it might be cheaper to use DCL bus system.

We've used Happy Limo for many years when we don't want to rent a car.

Or rent a car for the day from hertz or someone who has a drop off at Port Canaveral.

Scott I will try to answer first since I have also asked the question but since we are first timers - those with experience please add to or correct me!!!!

Capris are fine...in the main dining areas the dress code states: no swim suits, tank tops or shorts. Jeans and tennis shoes are permitted. Palo I am gathering you are correct - jacket for you and dress for DW.

For DH I plan to take 1 pair of khakis and one pair of black pants (thanks Marsha!!) With his black dress shoes (which we will use not only for dinner but also for pirate night). For myself I have 2 sundresses and 2 pairs of capris - I am trying to not overpack so my plan is to use whatever I wear for dinner the next day if needed. For our two days at CC the tips suggested just wearing your bathing suit so really no need for a set of clothes! I hope this helps!!!

Great advice! I am the first to tell people not to overpack but I am overpacking! I need an intervention. I have 2 suitcases packed & a carry-on & I still am not done.

Hope the storms stay away from down there. It is storming like crazy here at the moment. Thunder and Lightening. Power has gone out a couple of times. Eeeeeek.

I guess, count us in on the pirate picture too. Hope we remember to make it to this years. Does someone remind everyone about it? I am very forgetful about these things. And our oldest DD has been working so hard on a costume. Don't tell her I told you, but she is going as Peter Pan. She thought it would be fun to be Peter Pan at a Pirate Party.

Thank you! My DW is in major panic mode as I am at school from 7 till 7:30-8 every day. I am an easy packer but she has to have everything in order. I can pack in 10 min lol.

Another question: I have my little spiral booklet that came that has the adhesive luggage tags. My MOM told me that I should receive decorative luggage tags as well as some other goodies. Is this true? If it is I need to get a hold of DCL ASAP.

If anyone cancels at palo let me know so I can grab the reservation.

Tick Tock time is quickly passing. My brother keeps on teasing me because I am so excited about spending Friday and Sat. at the parks with my DW. This is our first vacation with just the 2 of us since we had our DS's. It will be different and I am sure I will miss my boys since they are my riding buddies but my Dw and I are gonna be like little kids our first time at WDW by ourselves!

As a PP mentioned, your luggage tags should be in your spiral booklet. You will receive more luggage tags the last day. They will have characters on them.

Hello Wonderful DVCers!

For those who may remember me, I (along with DH and our 3 kids) was supposed to be on this year's member cruise. Unfortunately due to a family gathering that got arranged in late spring, we had to cancel. I have continued to lurk and follow along on this thread and have been sharing in the excitement that continues to build up. You all are going to have a wonderful time!!! I think one of the things I am most sad about is not getting to meet this wonderful group in person.

I have been thinking about next year's cruise. I think it will be in September again. I have a couple of questions for you seasoned veterans who have been through the craziness of booking day. How far in advance did you know the booking date? Also, if you happen to be at WDW on booking day (which there is a chance that we might if it is in the first week on November) then can anyone at the DVC desks help with the reservation process or do you still have to call yourself? This year's cruise hasn't even happened and I am trying to strategize for next year!!!!!!!!!! It is truly an obsession!!!!!!!!!

I have one other request. When I had booked the member cruise, we had kept it a secret from the younger two kids. However my DS9 had figured out what I was up to and was following along all the details with me. When I had to cancel, he was very disappointed as he had (like me) gotten hyped up about this being a very unique experience than the other cruises. We are now booked on the Halloween cruise and none of the kids know. I had an idea for revealing the surprise which I need your help for. I was wondering if one of you would share an item (or items) that is unique to the DVC member cruise that I can then present to them in a package as if it were sent over by Mickey himself with a note saying that he was sad that they could not come this time but is looking forward to seeing them at Halloween. I know that in the past some people have either passed on to relatives (or even sold on ebay) some of the cruise items that are given out in the daily gifts. If anyone is going to part with any such item, please do contact me first. I am happy to either pay you or make a donation to your favorite charity. I know it sounds a bit silly to get worked up about kids getting disappointed and then our attempts to create some magic for them, but I think that members of this forum understand this insanity!

Keep posting for not just those who are going but those who wish they were. Can't wait to read the TRs after. Is anyone going to be making live posts?

Anyone staying at BLT before cruise?

We are staying at the Boardwalk before and after the cruise. We stayed at the BLT a few times last year. We loved it. We had the Magic Kingdom view and the Bay View. Loved both views. If you get the Magic Kingdom view...you will be able to see the fireworks at night. What a sight. Hope you enjoy the BLT

That's a good question! As far as I know the only night they play a movie by the pool is on Pirate night. But I could be wrong.

IF I RECALL RIGHT, SOMETHING IS PLAYING AFTER PIRATE PARTY. LAST YEAR THEY PLAYED THE NEW VERSION OF SNOW WHITE. WE ALL WATCHED AROUND 11pm OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WATER. DURING THE EARLY MORNING DISNEY CARTOONS OR OTHER DISNEY FEATURES ARE PLAYING. THE YEAR BOSTON RED SOX WENT TO THE WORLD SERIES THE CRUISE WAS IN OCT SO SOMEONE CONVINCED THEM TO PUT THE SERIES ON . THERE WERE MANY SOX FANS. THAT WAS GREAT, IM A BLUEJAY FAN BUT WILL CHEER FOR THE SOX. HATE THE YANKEES.

I am using the DIS to help my insanity - yesterday I found out one of my dearest friends at work and the person who runs the show with me took a position for another company - it is a great oppurtunity for her - run my the Mayo Clinic it is a specialized school for kids in the Autism Spectrum which is her area of expertise....but I am sooooo and really stressed about how things are going to work without her.....it has been a rough couple of days and I need a break from everything.....SSMC 2010 can I go NOW!?!?!?!?!?

I'm sorry that your friend is leaving you at work. I know how important it is to have someone like that at work, it makes it much easier to go to work on the days that you'd really rather not! And it makes work fun, too! Just remember every closed door means another door is open somewhere...hopefully you will have another great person working with you soon. Ten days will be here before you know it and you'll be on that beautiful ship with all of your new DIS friends!!

We are getting closer & closer to sailing away. One week from today, my family should be on the road heading to FL. We will visit with our friends in Jacksonville and then head to WDW on Friday. I cannot wait!
