09/12/10 - DVCers Take Over the Wonder (S.S. Member Cruise 2010) - Thread #2

I am so beyond excited! only a few more days and it's off to paradise! :)

my FE stuff is all done - well mostly haha, i have started thinking about the clothes we are going to bring - we wont pack until the day before we leave, and the house is almost all clean - so let's go already!!

i guess you will be near us at the adult beach, we always head there. This year we are taking a couple pool noodles instead of renting floats. We find the clear inner tube floats tend to float away fast in the current if you let go at adult beach.
On a regular disney cruise very few dress up on pirates nite. On the member cruise more dress up but we are the minority. I know in the past they usually give you pirate bandana at supper. You can always pick up something on the ship. Thats how i started out.

I have taken my noodle to WDW many times but do feel foolish packing it. I had decided not to bring it this time and you have to go and say you're bringing yours too.:confused3 Do you have the little seat that hangs on the noodle? I like it for the resort pool but I'll probably be sitting, reading with my feet in the water as I said. Actually I don't like things nibbling at my toes or the seaweed or whatever that is at the adult beach. I'll stick to a chair. Or if I got there early enough to get a hammock I might not even get my feet wet.:rotfl:

thanks for reminding me about the seat part. we have 2 of those for our noodles

Yes, we're at BLT! We originally got a water view, and after a waitlist, got the standard view for less points.

Our first stay there - gotta find out how the Top of the World lounge works and if we need reservations or just show up.

TJ

Tj,

In order to get to the top of the world lounge you go to the main floor of BLT to the middle desk. Tell whoever is working the desk you would like to go to the lounge. They will escort you to the elevator and incert their special card and up you go. I expressed to DVC that I thought this process needed to be addressed but they said it is to keep those from other resorts from using the lounge. My response was you have all this technology but cant have the KTW card at BLT programmed to only let those staying use the elevator!?! They were like ummm ummm ummm.

The lounge is nice and watching the fireworks is cool. That is about the only thing we liked about BLT.

For those that are staying there in case you did not know if you have a MK view one of the tv channels plays the firework music so you can look out the window or deck and watch and listen.

all checked in at WL. Heading in Friday night. eating at Epcot then staying for emh till midnight. Going to get rides in at epcot and watch fireworks

So who can answer this question for me !!!! What is the average cost of a beer (m iller/bud) and a mixed or specialty drink from the bars ???? are they priced like at WDW 6.00 for a beer ????

I can tell you about the drink of the day. The first one you buy if you buy it in the souvenir glass which i always do is aprox $6and change, then your next drink is 3 something. You just exchange the glass and they give you another filled. Not sure about regular drinks. The drink of the day is usually something like a Bahama Mama

No ones here. Waiting around at school for back to school night. Have to put on my happy face and meet all the parents whose kids I want to strangle.:thumbsup2 I get to meet the nice kids parents to so that will be good. Of course I would rather be home watching the Buckeyes opener. :mickeyjum

ISNT THE BUCKEYES the OHIO team? Shouldnt you be a Terrapin fan.:rotfl2:

I just checked in to AKV-CL  This is our first CL stay ever/anywhere. We are driving up on Friday the 10th.

I can't imagine anyone who doesn't wear a pirate: costume is going to stick out like a sore thumb. One of my favorite things about "Disney people" is that they don't seem to judge anyone else and simply feel a sense of camraderie with anyone else who is a "Disney person" :thumbsup2 I'm on the other end of the spectrum with my pirate: costume. Some might find it over the top :rolleyes1 I showed it to one of my "doesn't get Disney" friends and she just looked at me  like I had three heads :lmao: That was when I knew I made the right choice in choosing a custom costume :rotfl2: I don't care, I'm probably going to need an instruction manual just to put the blasted thing on and I am sure walking in 4 inch pirate boot heels should provide entertainment value popcorn::

Terrie :)

((well it might make a great photo to show friends you tipped over in your Pirate outfit over the desserts)
