Here are the tips of the day.

EXTRA THINGS TO PACK TO USE IN YOUR ROOM

21. Crayons, books and plain paper for kids during the down time (is there such a thing on DCL) in the room --- have them make a "picture" scrapbook for when they get back home!

22. Assorted sizes of zip bags! They are life savers! You can keep books, camera, etc. in them, especially when you go to CC. You can use sandwich zip bags to put cereal in for snacks (if the ship is using dispensers for cereal).

23. Lanyards for your KTTWs.

24. Two-way radios.

25. Soft sided cooler to bring off the ship for excursions and beaches.

26. Buttonhole extenders (in case you eat too much ;-))

27. Bring (especially if you have a verandah) a small pair of binoculars. It's great for looking at passing islands, dolphins, etc. Be sure that the kids keep the cord around their necks when they're using them so they don't drop them overboard.

28. Windex wipes to clean your glass on your veranda - the salt spray accumulates and obstructs the view (the 1/4" glass is clear).

29. Several large-mouth plastic bottles (that will fit into your collapsible cooler) for excursions, or for keeping drinks & water in your stateroom beverage cooler. Keep them full of ice/water from the drink station and make your own ice tea, lemonade, Crystal Lite, etc.

30. Baby powder - sprinkle it on sandy feet, wait a second and the sand just brushes away with a towel.

Hi all - I am having so much fun reading about lice and ear wax and then Ian jumped on and a coupon for $3 and just to add to the fun.... I was swimming in my pool and admiring my nearly complete new deck:cool1::banana::cool1::banana:!!!! I'm soooo excited!!!

Only thing better would be cruising NOW!!!!

Which bottle of rum are we on??

I have questions about luggage....

First we are flying in Sunday morning do we get our luggage at baggage claim and bring it to the port ourselves or do they do tags like ME?

Next if we do bring our own to port....what do we do with it once we get there - do we take it to our room?

We have decided to rent a car from MCO to the port - and will get our OL at MCO that is alot of stuff for the two of us to handle with the girls - DH will drop us at the port and then go to Dollar (thanks for that tip Chris or Debbie I forget!!!).

I'm sure I have more....

It is wonderful that your deck is almost finished and you are enjoying your pool.

I agree that it would be wonderful if we were cruising now.

35 bottles of rum on the wall, 35 bottles of rum, take one down and pass it around.....

Oh yay I got home on time and the storms passed overhead so so far our internet is working again!

34 bottles of rum on the wall, 34 bottles of rum

I am not sure if you are able to put the tags on your luggage and have DCL transport it.

If you do have to bring it to the port, when DH drops you off, you drop off your luggage too. So, make sure you have the tags on them when you drop them off at the curb. A group of porters will be at the curb to take your luggage inside the terminal (this is where you will need small bills for the tip). Keep your carry-on/day bag and go inside while DH returns the car. You will need a luggage tag for your OL.

32 bottles of rum on the wall, 32 bottles of rum, take one down and pass it around.....

Bottle of rum??? :confused3 ??? Oh, yeah, like 68 or something, eh? (Ian, like the candian reference :rotfl:)

The coupon code ("TASTY") expires 7/22. You are able to use the coupon later.

Thanks Marsha. Good to know.

Uhhhhh, I think that was me!!!! Hehehehehe. I'm in such a good mood tonight. Why? Beats me. Just am :thumbsup2.

Not sure about the luggage question though. We always fly in a day or two earlier than the cruise because we have problems sometimes from the midwest and we don't want to miss the boat. Last year for the Members Cruise it was a nightmare for me and DH. First off we were missing a big hometown celebration that we always go to and our girls were both marching in the parade in their respective marching bands (will miss again this year too but the girls will be with us) and then we boarded our flight only to be unloaded because of mechanical problems and try to find another flight out of Des Moines. It was very stressful. I immediately got in line at the ticket counter and DH was on the phone trying to get a hold of Delta to see what could be done. I was only the 2nd one in line and it took the person in front of me 45 mintues to get a new flight arranged and DH was having no luck. Luckily when I finally got up to get our stuff changed we were able to get a flight out only to run through the airport in Memphis, about giving me a coronary because we got off at the furthest away terminal only to switch terminals and our gate was the furthest away from the start , all in order to get to Orlando, 3 hours behind schedule. Not a good start. We both were so spent and had had nothing to eat all day, that we couln't wait to get to Squid Lips (restaurant in Melbournne, FL) and eat. It was amazing.

Sorry to go crazy here telling my story, I guess I was telling about why we fly a day or two earlier, but I was just reliving it and kept going, and going, and going. . . . :rotfl2:
