Hi Everyone and Happy Friday!

Sorry I haven't been around much. It has been a busy week, especially since I will be off next week for the Holiday.
Cruise was nice, but short. Thursday when we arrived, it was colllllllld!!! It was really too cold to enjoy anything on deck. I had brought a hooded sweatshirt and was so glad - I needed it, hood and all! After the lifeboat drill, we headed straight towards the hot chocolate at the drink station. Then headed straight to the new Cove Cafe lounge and hung out there. DH went on deck for a little while while we were sailing out of port. He said he saw some dolphins. I said, "that's nice honey, I am staying in here where it is warm." Yes, it was that cold - brrrrrr!!!
We had a cat 5 cabin on deck 7 - 7108. We had booked a cat 8 and received a pixie dust upgrade.

It was located just off of the aft elevators, so it was super convenient to get anywhere we wanted. There were no cabins on the side across from ours, so it also really reduced foot traffic. The only downside was that it was directly across from a door for CM access. About 8am, we would hear "sqeeeeeaaaak slam, sqeeeeeaaaak slam." No sleeping in for us! It was also an adjoining cabin. We had noisy neighbors - we could hear them talking and opening/shutting drawers. We called them "the slammers." If you had quiet neighbors, it would not be an issue.
Our dining rotation was Tritan's, Animator's Palate, Parrot Cay. I didn't really care for this rotation. I has brought dresses to wear for diinner, but opted for jeans and a nice blouse because it was so darn cold. (I had actually just happened to throw jeans in "just in case" - again, so glad that I had them.) We were afraid that we would be underdressed for Tritan's, but everyone was in the same boat (pun intended

) that we were. Our servers were Dimitru from Romania and Boneface from India. They were phenomenal. We had actually had Dimitru on a previous cruise and requested him, so we were very pleased that they were able to accomodate us.
Friday was Nassau. We had been to Nassau a couple of times before, so we decided to just head out on our own. We walked to the Queen's staircase and up to the fort. Walking to it was interesting due to the lack of sidewalks. Outings like that make you really appreciate our safety commission in the states. I have to say, that Queen's staircase was totally unimpressive to me. Just a crumbling set of stairs and cement pads at the end of the parking lot going up to the fort. I kept looking around to see if there was another staircase that we had missed and went up the wrong one. Views from the fort were nice.
After the fort, we walked back into town. I wanted to go to the Del Sol store, so we did that first. I just love those shirts. Then we went to the straw market because I wanted to look at the Coach purses. After about 5 minutes of that we had had enough and headed back to the ship for lunch. We went up to the adult pool to try to get into the hot tub for a little while. Both were totally packed and people just stayed in them without budging. They would get hot, then sit up on top for a while, and then get back in. We never did get in.
We went to the show first because we had late dining. It was "Toy Story - the Musical." I thought that it was cute, dh just ok. It was basically what the title says - Toy Story in musical form. Dinner was Animator's Palate, which is my favorite. After dinner, we saw the movie "The Surrogates." I thought that it was weird.
Saturday was
Castaway Cay.

But, it was so windy that they had to cancel all shore excursions. They were not even renting snorkeling equipment. We had signed up for the waverunner excursion. I have to say, they were very proactive in this regard. They sent us a voice mail and had credited our account before we even knew it. So, we headed out to Serenity Bay to attempt to catch some rays. The wind made it really chilly unless the sun was directly on you. We were able to snag a hammock and the wind blew so hard that it actually rocked me. I covered my legs with a towel and took a nice little snooze.

DH tried to snorkel, but said the water was really cold and it was hard to see because the waves were really churning everything up. We had lunch - bbq ribs for me and burger for dh. It was fine, nothing to write home about. After lunch we went back to the beach for a while and then headed back to the ship.
Once we got back on the ship, we tried the whole hot tub thing again with the same results. Please people, be considerate and do not camp out for the evening! Ended up over in the family pool area. Let me tell you, that thing was HOT!!! We didn't stay too long. DH decided that he wanted to swim, so he went back to the adult pool and I headed back to our cabin to get ready for dinner.
The ship was already decorated for Christmas and they had this gorgeous Christmas tree in the main lobby by the staircase in front of Tritan's. We had our picture taken there before dinner. Dinner at Parrot Cay, nothing to write home about but good to say good bye to our servers. Did some last minute shopping after dinner and walked around deck 4 for a while.
It continued to be windy throughout the last night and the boat really rocked. Even DH, who is never seasick, woke up feeling poorly.

I was very grateful for my patch! We had a quick breakfast and said goodbye to our servers one more time, then headed for the
DCL bus. We headed back to MCO and then home to Dallas. It was great for a short get away, which is only what we could swing with work schedules. We also used our DVC points for the cruise and airline miles for our plane tickets, so it didn't hurt so much out of pocket.
Well, that is all I can remember. Have a great weekend everyone!
