09/08/07 Early Check in September 8, 2007 Western

I too think I will be running to Rockin D to see about a possible Palo ressie.:yay:
But if we don't get one we don't get one. :scared: I am determined to let things go and go with the flow when this holiday starts!:rotfl2:

But put your name in either way, because almost every time I have cruised, we have gotten a phone call in the room at some point during the cruise saying that a spot had opened up at Palo.

My DH broke his mug after the last trip so we will be buying a new one for him. We will also be bringing some aboard.
I guess that's allowed then? We weren't sure. I don't see why you couldn't if you already have it.
Can't wait...btw this thread hit pg 101!
It's gonna be great meeting all of you in person. I've become addicted to this website.

I had to put this information in here because it's funny. I was telling DH about the breakfast in your jammies party. I told him that I put our names on the list to participate. He asked what it was about. I told him that we go to breakfast with all the other DIS group in our jammies...he got a weird look on his face. I asked him why the look? Well, he usually sleeps in his underwear! I didn't even think about that. He doesn't even own a pair of pajama's! :rotfl: I told him we could go and buy him a pair of jammies just for that breakfast, because, god forbid he walk in their with only his underwear on! (If he was buff and tan, perhaps it would be okay, but he's 44, beer-bellied, and white as a ghost!) :scared:  :scared1:

So, off we go to find a pair of DISNEY jammies for the hubby! Any suggestions? :rolleyes1 :confused3

non buff and tanned can go a long way!:rotfl2:

Anyway to check how full the ship will be? If anyone needs to call DCL for something - do you mind asking? Just curious... I do find it interesting that no Fla discounts have opened up yet for any of the upcoming cruises. :confused3

The only slow way I know is to go to the DCL website and do a fake booking and start with cat 12 and work your way up to cat 4. It gives you a list of cabins available. I do know that several cats are sold out.
or the quicker way... call DCL:cool1:

Disney has opened up the ship to cast members, there rate was ridiculous. Ship is not yet full, close though.

Donita tells me that I am not allowed to join the jammie brigade in my normal sleep attire. She feels that all the other gentlemen aboard would be jealous of the deep dark Florida tan, the buff body by Jake, and the lack of night ware (Insert smile face here). I am sure that my brother Dan (DNJLAW) will be jumping in to comment on this, take no mind of him. Younger brothers can be so, so jealous.

It is raining (and lightning) in Orlando, just came back from Downtown Disney. Going back tommorow to see a movie and do some last minute shopping for our cousin's son.

Hope all is well -

DCL is actually not allowed to tell you over the phone how full the ship is. (Now, some operators will bend the rules, but most won't.) I do know that the ship is inching close to capacity....probably due to the number of cast member discounts that they released! Looks like there may not be too many upgrades happening. :guilty: But hey, I'm just happy to be on the cruise! I'll sleep in the engine room if they want me to!

Just checked on the Disney Cruise website and found the following information regarding ship staterooms that are still open:
Categories 4, 5, and 10 each have 8 open staterooms; categories 6, 8, and 12 are full; category 9 has 5 open staterooms; category 11 has 4 open staterooms on deck 5 and 2 open on deck 6. In all, there are like 35 staterooms still available. I don't think it is looking good for any upgrades. OH WELL! We don't spend that much time in our staterooms, so we'll just have to monopolize more of the ship!!

I checked this morning and if you are booking with only two adults all cat (12-4) are still available. That tells me they are getting close to beinf full for the number of kids and that many of the 4 person staterooms may already be booked. I find it interesting that different persons get different results when searching for available cabins. Lois

50 Days Until Sailaway, Folks!!!! :cool1:  :cool1:

I can almost smell that ocean air now!

Still dreaming of an upgrade, but a cat 7 is fine with me. Count us in for leis and anything else to ID us. Can't wait. DH is fussing a little about being away from his newly planted white birch tree, but we will just arrange for someone to "watch it grow" while we are away.

Following is the list for Breakfast, Lunch and leis. Let me know if I have missed you. I think I may have missed a few of our newcomers. Please correct me if I am wrong. Lois

Just a note to those trying to figure out how many cabins are left on the ship at this point... remember this.... travel agents can hold a block of cabin under their agency name for sale only by them. I believe it is 30 days (depends on the cruise line) that the cruise line will have them released back to them for general public resale. So there could be cabins out there available that you don't know about.... yet.

This is assuming that Disney is like the cruise line standard in doing this. I assume they are as I know that agencies do that with hotel rooms and airline seats.

I will be there..

Me, my husband and our 10 yrs old.. very first cruise and my 4oth birthday present..

Welcome to our group! Congratulations on celebrating your 1st cruise and birthday!!! Joy

Thanks everyone for checking on the capacity issue!!! I too was hoping for a less than capacity ship, but then its also the first Western after the Magic returns from being gone all summer........the 30 day hold possibility is also quite interesting. But I am happy that my 4yr old DD will get to meet lots of new friends!

I was gone on business all week,a dn it took about an hour to catch up!!!
Welcome aboard newcomers, glad to have you with us!!
Someone posted how they are tribe fans, we too leave near C-town and i will definatley be bring my tribe gear, AND my browns gear for opening day SUNDAY!!!! I can't believe it is soooo close to cruise time.

On a more somber note, I found out my surgery (hernia) got delayed till the 17th... can you say ALCOHOL!!!

and finally.... I FOUND A SONIC!!! it's about 2 hours from home, but it's like 2 minutes from my office in Columbus ohio, it's been open for a few months, but since i haven't been down there in a while, it was my first time seeing it.

My wife, if i haven't told you, LOVES the cherry limeaids, so as i was driving to work the one day, which my wife had driven me the day before, i saw this HUGE sign advertising sonic just down the road. I brought her a drink on what happened to be her birthday. Score one for ME!!!

Thanks for letting me blab a bit, i am going to surprise my kids now.

C'Ya all!!!:goodvibes
