Oh Bill, I'd love that personalized so I can send it to my DFi!!!! PMing you with the details... :)

Just had to celebrate because the honeymoon cruise is officially PAID IN FULL as of this morning!!! :cool1: :cool1:   :dance3:

Nod Celebrating at Palo's is cool also. When Palo's knows that it is a special night like that they give special treats.... :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Looked at Palos menu and didn't see much my wife would like and the fact that she eats like a bird doesn't help.

I'm a stuffed shirt and you'll never see me dressed as a pirate!:rolleyes1

I just found a picture of our get together before sailaway on our August Wonder cruise. I'm all the way in the back standing on a chair.

:cool1: Everyone has good news today:cool1:

Pay off's and ressies just around the corner and trips to DL, and the opening night of Priates! Bill... the pic is great!
And we pick up our ADD Erika tomorrow! Havent seen her since the EBRepo in 2005! I just wish I were going back with her. She reports back to the Magic on the 28th. Then off to the Med!

Speaking of Palo reservations - does anyone know the basic night schedule for the cruise? This will be our first 7 day, and I know there is formal night, semi-formal night, pirate night, etc... but I don't know which nights they usually are. Anyone know? It will help us decide which night is best for DH and me to book our Palo night. Thanks! :goodvibes

That's a great question but since I have not done the western before I really don't have the answer. I looked at some of the past navagators from the western posted on DU web site. I think we are going to try for Thursday evening. Seemed like that would be the best for us. What do those of you who have been on the western before think about the best time to visit Palos and not miss anything else. Lois

I'm glad this topic was raised. I did the western two years ago in Sept. '05 and Pirate Night fell on Wednesday night which is the day we port in Cozumel. Now if you go to http://www.castawayclub.com/ you'll see it lists Pirate Night as Wednesday on the most recent Navigator. But on other navigators it lists it as Tuesday. So maybe DCL moves it around? Personally, I like it on Wednesday, it's smack dab in the middle of the cruise, AND it's on Mexico night which is nice. So bottom line is, don't plan your Palo dinner on Pirate Night because you kind of have to dress up for Palo and that doesn't mean Pirate formal wear!

I like to take it one step further and make sure that my Pirate Night dinner falls on the night I am at Parrot Cay. It's even more tropical that way and there's plenty of room for Pirate limbo. So I am hoping for the dining schedule APLAPLA (Animators, Parrot, Lumieres... in that order) that way I can have Parrot Cay on Pirate night and use one of my extra Animators Nights for Palo. Because as many of us know, they don't do the Animator's full show after your first night dining there. And frankly, I'm not all that fond of the food at Animators.

So is the concensus that June 8 is in fact the 90 day out Palo ressie booking time for our cruise? Just wanna make sure. I am DETERMINED to get my Palo ressies! I didn't get to do the tea last time and was bummed.

By the way S.S. Oceanlover... loved your meet photo! I also loved that you guys all had leis on. Gives me an idea... we should do that except see if we can buy lime green leis somewhere since that is the official DIS color. I like the idea of being able to wear something as a group.

Also I read somewhere on some thread about these cool tshirts someone had made. They had their group name on the front and on the back said:

"I'm here for the:_________________"

The blank is to fill in with some sort of permanent fabric marker your favorite part of the cruise. So mine would say "I'm here for the sailaway party" What a clever idea! Wondering if we could all do something like that.
Do we have a group name anyhow? I think it should be "Pirate Posse" or something funny like that. ;)

I also want to make a confession today. I called the WDW dine line to make a ressie for Boma. (We are travelling to FL at the end of May so I want to stop by AKL one day for dinner, can't resist Boma). And well, the confession is that I enjoyed the Disney muzac on dine line so much, I called back again! Clearly I am in need of a Magical Fixx. ;) Something about that muzac gets me every time, makes me feel instantly relaxed! And it's not like I couldn't just turn those songs on at home! I can't explain it!

stina :wave2:

I agree!! Another enthusiastic :thumbsup2 for Boma. I got stuck by myself in Orlando because of Katrina (relocated to WDW when it was obvious I wasn't going to be heading back home anytime soon) and I chose to dine solo at Boma my first night there!

Yes, I've dined at Boma many times and it never disappoints. I just LOVE those soups!!!

Q: Anyone done the Pirate Soul excursion? What did you think of it? I hear it is cheaper to do it direct (not through Disney)

I was hoping to do that with my family before the pub crawl. I won't have much of an attention span post-pub crawl!

Anyone have any thoughts on a timeline for the pub crawl? I know we don't get to Key West until about noon.

Here is the info I have gotten so far. I keep trying to post the info like a chart but when it post it justifies to the left. Hope you all can make uot what is there. If I have anything incorrect please PM me or let me know somehow. In August I will e-mail the file to those who have given me there e-mail address. Hope everyone has a good week. Lois

lois - thanks for the update! we are a formidable bunch of sailors!

everyone:
check out these leis!

http://www.orientaltrading.com/appl...ial&N=377378&sd=MULTICOLOR+DOUBLE+FLOWER+LEIS

they're so much fun and only $9.95 a dozen. this would be super fun for our first day dismeet and sailaway party. also it'd make it easy for us to identify other DISers on sight. i know we're in the caribbean and not hawaii but they are tropical and festive. what do you guys think?

i'm trying to think of some creative & identifying thing we could all wear.

Why not! Maybe some can go to the Hyatt and some to the Meet at WDW then the rest of the group could get hooked up at the port. There is also the possiblity of getting some wrist bands. I think Ann is doing something like that for the 9/15 cruise. I know they need to be ordered in large numbers and not sure we could make the needed order but that may be an idea as well. Or we could all try to find lime green t-shrits to wear that first day to help ID each other. Anybody else got any other ideas? Lois

Hi everyone! Sorry I've been MIA for so long. I'm trying hard not to focus too much on the cruise because it is too far away!!!!! :scared: I like the idea of having a meet of some sort on embarkation day. Another idea I've seen on other threads is doing kind of a secret "Santa" kind of thing where each day someone different leaves a small surprise for everyone. People have been making "fish extenders" to do this. I just thought it was a neat idea.

Do we have a takers for setting this up? Need to take names and come up with the questions so the Secret Mickey will have some idea of what to get. Also set a limit on the cost. Could do adult and kids or even break it down by Gender. It does seem to be something that many DIS groups do. Anyone in this group want to have a Secret Mickey?
