09/08/07 Early Check in September 8, 2007 Western

We paid our deposit on 4/6/2006, one year ago today. I thought by booking early we would get a good rate. Today the same cat 7 is only $100 more per person. I guess thats the chance you take. We are still looking forward to this cruise.

That's still 100.00 per person that you can spend on fun that the rest of us might not have. Do you have any special plans for it?

Hey everyone!!! I'm bettin you all know already, but I wanted to say it anyway. For those of us taking a trip to WDW before the cruise, they will be offering free dining with you package purchase while we are all there. Not sure about Min. night stay but the deal is begining for Disney Visa Card Holders on Monday. I upgraded us from POR to Wilderness Lodge because of the $$$$$ I will be saving. Just wanted to let you all know.

good morning!

i just got all my vacation time for work approved. i had already asked for the week in sept. but just added sept. 7! so hopefully (if i have my way) we will be flying in a day early and staying at WDW, which means hopefully attending the meet n' greet! yippeee.

so i'm trying to figure this out. i booked the land transfers on the bus. since i am now no longer going direct from airport to port canaveral what should i do? for those of you staying at wdw before the cruise, what are you doing transportation-wise?

stina :wave2:

There are several of the WDW resorts that DCL picks up from. Check with WDW to see if they will pick you up and take you to the resort if you are only staying at the resort. I know if you are going to the parks pick up from the airport is part of the package. Then you can have DCL pick you from from your resort (If you pick one they pick up from) and take you to the port and from the port to the Airport. Just work it out with Disney.

Before you make any reservations call and make sure there is still room on the transport with DCL. I really don't think there would be an issue. Even if you can't make the meet I would fly in the day before and stay at the Hyatt at MCO. It makes the day so much more enjoyable. I believe there are several people doing that. Maybe those that are staying at the Hyatt can arrange a mini meet there before the cruise.

I hope all this has cleared the water not just made it more confusing. Lois

DH will have withdrawal symptoms if he doesn't get into Ebay for 10 days, so this $$ will go for internet access. We are staying at BCV 3 nights on points prior to the cruise, so we will be away from his desktop for 10 days. I have a bulky laptop Dell Inspiron 9100 but I will bring it along...got a nice rolling case on EBags...

I saw the free dining promotion, but we will stay with renting points. We want to be close to Epcot because we are going to the Epcot Pin Event prior to the cruise...

I do have to say hearing that the Cat 7 is only $100 more expensive than this time last year is making me feel a lot better b/c DFi and I only decided to get married in February and then decided to do the Disney Cruise for our honeymoon shortly thereafter (right before he went on deployment), so there wasn't a lot of advance booking for us. I learned the prices go up the closer to the cruise it gets, so it really makes me feel good that we didn't get the price raised on us all that much! :D

stina...
Dh and I are coming in on the 7th and are staying at the Hyatt.
Perhaps the non-WDW people can have our meet at the airport?
I have no idea what time we will be coming in at.. it's usually by 7pm... (WestCoaster here)

It would be great if you could get something arranged. I know there has to be at least 3 if not more families staying at the Hyatte that first night. That is what we would be doing if we were not visiting WDW before the Cruise. Even just getting together for a drink right before bed might be nice or maybe for breakfast the next morning before checking in with Disney. Do that and you might be able to get on the same DCL bus to the post and complete the meet at the port. Wish I could do both. Lois

Thanks for the transportation advice Lois. We still haven't decided whether we are staying at WDW on the evening of the 7th or at the airport or at Port Canaveral. We have non-expiring park days left on our MYW tickets from our trip last year, so we're thinking it'd be cool to fly in Fri. morning and have an afternoon at one of the parks and a nice dinner at Disney before going on the cruise. Mostly I'm not sure how much $ I want to spend/where i want to stay. If money were no object :rotfl2: I would stay one night at AKL, my home away from home, but...back to reality. We just don't know what we can afford right now. We're kind of scrimping right now just to afford this cruise! Cruising is expensive but soooo worth it! ;)

I guess my next question should be :

Who is flying in on Friday and staying at the Hyatt at the airport?

Anyone up for meet on Friday night or for breakfast on Saturday morning before the bus?

Ann

what Hyatt are you guys talking about? Is it the one at the airport?
We haven't decided what hotel yet and don't have air yet. Going to wait for Southwest to release their fall dates.

Bill

YUP... Bill... that's the one!
I thought I would hate it since it's IN the airport! I really do like it. We haven't eatten there, we ran out to the food court and picked up something there, and came back to the lobby and caught the bus to the port.:cool1:

So the question remains did you get through to Disney and get your free dining? I was on hold for awhile but it saved me over 500 dollars for the two of us. I am so amazed that it just worked out this way. Lois
