Ok I last left off everyone was washing off the days sweat from our very HOT! day at the Animal Kingdom
(oh and 1 side-note on my hopeful plan was to try and see the Pocahontas Show (w/ her animal friends), well we just ran out of time and energy and now I read today that the last show is this Sept. Huge Bummer, Ok maybe it wasnt excellent, but we never got to see it, and both Aldine and Mae like her, plus Michael is a huge animal kid )
And just some final thoughts for Animal Kingdom:
here is my cool KS postcard...going in the scrapbook!
So despite the morning EMH, we were quite successful with this first day of touring, the big ticket items on our TP were all hit w/ very minimal waits, our lunch was very good and the eating area was very tranquil for a busy park. We got some good shopping in, including DHs b-day present from my Mom:
Its a hand painted/wooden dragon kite. He really likes kites, though this one probably wont actually be flown and is still in need of a permanent home somewhere in the house.
The things we missed out on, mostly due to getting there a little later than hoped and the heat just dragged us down, were no meet & greets w/ Safari Mickey and friends, plus some quality Tree of Life viewing time and the above mentioned show.
But all in all it was a good 1st day in the parks!
and lastly:

Its off to NEVERLAND kids ..
A little happy thought w/ some pixie dust and were flying thru Wendys bedroom window toward the 2nd star to the left!
this is from the web....
Ok so like a big dummy I didnt take my camera w/ when dropping them off or picking them up. Whoops!
We signed the 3 big-kids in for the night (the CM probably thought were off for a nice romantic dinner well sorta w/ my Mom and Margaret .)
They got to choose their dinner choices from a special menu, I think they all picked chicken nuggets, either chocolate milk or white, plus pudding for dessert and grapes or carrots and applesauce. They are not hard to please. They got their special Peter Pan sticker nametags and in they went.
Then Matt and I went back to our room and went up to our Kona Café dinner ADR w/ Mom and the baby too.
Our ADR was for 6:05 pm and we were finally seated around 6:40 pm. We passed the time looking around at the Sushi Bar and gift shops in the upstairs area of the GCH. It looked like a busy Friday night for both restaurants.
Before we had left AK for the day, my Mom got this for Margaret:
In the next picture she has it on, but I think she kept thinking it would fall off .
Here are few more pictures while we waited:
a pirate's life not for me
Well our pager/lighty thing went off and we were seated in a nice comfy corner table near the railing, which ended up being perfect for Margaret, as she was not to keen in staying put in her highchair, she just walked around right there in the little corner, looking out at the people too.
On the way to our table the hostess shows us the dessert bar with this as a centerpiece:
We had the most excellent waiter for this meal, his name was Quey (I apologize if I spelled that wrong). Time for the food porn portion of this TR!:
We first ordered and paid op for the Kona Crab Cake Sushi Roll
I really enjoyed it, being the 2nd time EVER I have had sushi. Mom said it was good, but didnt eat the seaweed, Matt was so-so on it, hes not a sushi kind of man (not to mention it was his idea to order)
For dinner I ordered Macadamia Mahi Mahi, which was so amazingly good! The side salad was just ok not my preferred taste.
Mom had the Beef Teriyaki, and said it was so GOOD and TASTY. The meat was extremely tender.
(whoops have to resize this one to bigger)
Matt ordered the Filet Mignon (msp?) and he cleared his plate, big-time. Oh plus he had a lovely op $12 glass of wine w/ that.
He and I also got these op specialty lemonade drinks, had seen them on the POLY thread and just had to get one, so we got a matching set:
I dont have any pictures of Margarets food, but lets say she ate some dry cheerios from the room and our excellent waiter brought her a kid-cup of milk for FREE, and a side order of fruit salad for FREE, plus an extra giant (for her) sized bowl of grapes for FREE yet again!!!
Seriously, cheerios, pretzel goldfish and red grapes was her diet of choice for Disney.
We also ordered some dessert to go:
Me-coconut cream kiki tort
Mom-white chocolate cheesecake
Matt-chocolate lava torte
Oh and just so you know we were on the DDP but if we paid for everything out of pocket including tip, this little meal would have cost us around $165.00
(ok now I'm just thinking...I was journalling for most of the time during the in between parts of the meal...you don't think he thought I was some crazy reviewer?)
Im not sure what time we were actually done eating but it had to be after 8:00 pm. Because while Mom and I waited for the bill, DH took a very tired and cranky Margaret back to the room and got her ready for bed. We got back and then a few minutes later, DH and I headed back over to the NC and picked up the kids.
We got to go in thru Wendys window (OK we could have used the door, but this was more fun) to find them. Inside they had a craft/coloring area, dress-up, video game area, games, toys, books, and dolls galore (all Disney of course) plus behind a wall they had movies on. That was were the girls were and Michael was lying down not to far from them reading.
It was reported they were well behaved and Michael had no problems! Yay! There was just under the max 20 kids that night and everyone was just cool .as we left Neverland, each of the kids got a plastic MM straw of their color choice, plus an office NC member card, tattoos and coloring & painting sheets. I thought was very cool!
ok so it's a bunch of free left-over movie promo's but still cool for me and a 9 and 5 yr old
We got back to our room(s) and quietly had everyone change into their pjs in my Moms room and got all to bed it had to be around 9:00 pm by now. Then DH and I re-changed back into the clothes we had on earlier and headed off for OUR nighttime FUN!!!
To be continued soon ..
