And another...

I baked a peach/blueberry cobbler for DrHug tonight. Now he's a happy man! :goodvibes Think I'll go dish us up some while it's still hot and put some vanilla ice cream on it. YUM!
I need to bake Bill something. He saw your post and nudged me. He likes apple cobbler. Hopefully, Mrs. Smith's will be acceptable. I tried to make an apple pie once and lets just say, the dog was full that night. :lmao: I am more of a cookies and cakes baker. I know my limits. I'll leave the pies/cobblers to the experts. :rolleyes1

We have no sales tax here in Oregon. Lots of income tax and property tax, but I like not having to pay sales tax. Especially on big purchases like autos and motorhomes. :scared:
The Tax-Free Weekend in Texas is from August 17 - August 19. They do it annually to give people a break on their back-to-school shopping.:cool1: Also, we don't have a "state" income tax in Texas. But, we do have a sales tax (8% - 8.25% in most places) and a lovely property tax (I don't even want to get into that one!). However, I can't complain too much because house prices in Texas are pretty low compared to other states. We had thought about moving to Washington state for Bill's work. But, we'd have to move from our four bedroom, three and half bath with an inground pool to a three bedroom one bath house for MORE than what we paid for our current home. So, we are staying put for right now.

Oh that's too bad! I love my DSil's Apple Pie... I too usually make very soggy pies... but I make one heck of a cheesecake ;)

That and BBQ, the type that has to cook for 6+ hours, that's my favorite. When I decide to cook ribs, I start the night before. My wife's family has told me that Thanksgiving is always going to be at our house because I always make good turkeys. Two years ago I deep fried one, and that was a huge hit. Last year I BBQ'd one with homemade BBQ sauce, and indirect heat on the grilll for about 8 hours. I'm not sure yet what I'm going to do this year...

Matt and i would like to join the brunch crowd!

Great!

Angie has requested brunch on the first day at sea, and I'm requesting the second sea day. If you'd like me to add you to my request, just send me a PM with:

Your full names,
Stateroom Number
Reservation Number

and I'll see if I can add you. i'm pretty sure I'm not at the max yet, but will let you know what they say.

I love the magnets, Wendy! I need to get DrHug crackin' on ours. Creativity is his job. :rolleyes1

Apple pie is one of the best things I make. DrHug's very favorite! :)

All this pie talk is making me hungry. I think I will have to bring Mrs Smith home when I go shopping on Tuesday. Cherry is my favorite, yum!

Good job with the magnets Wendy :thumbsup2

I have to get started on ours for this year :surfweb:
