Hi, we are back form our Rte 66 adventure. Talk about weird weather, Saturday morning we had to scrub our "middle" Missouri 66 because of a blizzard. We had 80 miles of snow and 300 miles of rain on Saturday. Now we have to go back next year. We need to drive the section from Devil's Elbow to Springfield, MO. It was a miserable week weather wise, 40s and rain, 5 of the 6 days.
One of the comedians we saw said it is so cold, Al Gore's lip froze to the microphone while he was giving a speech about global warming.

I know it's different font, but.......

Welcome Back !!
You were Missed !!

Hey all - it is me! I am sure by now you are thinking "who" LOL Just cking in! I am hoping Spring is here to stay here in Texas - we had another cold front along with a tornado last Friday - we are fine but those in Haltom city near Ft Worth saw the worst. I spent Friday night in a closet at one of my jewelry shows! Good thing I knew the gal having it!
Cannot wait til we hit the 6 month mark!
Have a great Monday!

Sorry you had to miss some of your planned journey. The good news is that you can do it next year.

Funny comment. Hmmm, my smiles are not working, but I am ROTFLOL. I too wonder about that warming stuff this spring!

 It was nasty here on Friday too. DH was stuck at work in Las Colinas (Irving, TX near where the Dallas Cowboys play) due to hail. He didn't want to ding his baby (his H3). He had to wait for a window of no hail to finally head home. I never heard any tornado sirens here, but did keep my eye on the sky. It was very windy with thunder and lightning and of course lots of rain. I was a sight, trying to get a swinging hammock off the stand and the umbrella off the patio table. It was VERY windy and raining into my eyes. It reminded me of the scene in Caddy Shack when the old man is playing golf in the storm and walking into the downpour of rain and winds. Pure craziness! It was chilly on Saturday. I met my sister at the Baby Faire at Dallas Market Hall. She is pregnant and I thought it would be neat for her to see all the new baby gadgets and vendors. It was fun. DH and I went to the Faire when I was pregnant with our first. Sunday could not have been more perfect. It was beautiful outside! It was a shorts and short-sleeved shirt type day. No wonder my DS6 is now sick. We go from cold weather to hot weather in one day. Then again, a cold or flu is going around here. DS1 has started to cough and sniffle today too. We may be off to the Pediatrician if he doesn't get better with the over-the-counter medicine. DS6 has his 7th Birthday Party on Sunday. We need everyone to be healthy. We are having his party at the Texas Motor Speedway with a Disney-Pixar Cars theme. It should be fun! - Jennifer

Hi everyone! I haven't posted in a while. I guess it has been the winter blahs. Here in PA, we are getting brutal weather and it even snowed a bit yesterday! That is normally unheard of this time of year!

We went to Disney on Ice Sunday in Hershey, PA and had a fun time. However, it made me "homesick" for WDW and DCL! He He. It had the same effect on our DD6 who is counting down the months too!

What is the count for "secret santa" items right now? We want to participate and I want to start planning our strategy.

Has anyone decided on their excursions yet?

Best wishes for good weather Angie :thumbsup2

Our DS lives in Mesquite and has been keeping us up with the news on the weather. It is scary but just be careful.

This whole group is! :woohoo:

Welcome! Please tell us all about you so we can get to know you. We're a friendly bunch of people who love to cruise DCL. :thumbsup2

Grand Floridian 3 days prior. Anyone going?

We want to do WDW either before or after, but we have the school absenteeism to consider. We are only supposed to take dd6 out of school for 5 days, which leaves us with an issue. Last year, we did WDW for a day on the disembarkment day. We got off the ship as soon as we could and were at WDW by 10am. That left us the whole day. I would love to go longer this time, but I'm not sure we will swing it. Perhaps we can fly in early on Friday and have some time at WDW and then the following Sat/Sun if we get a late flight. Decisions, Decisions... We have been to WDW several times, but our BIL from the UK and my sister are coming with us. She has not been to WDW as a kid and he has never been there. We want to get there as much as possible. Any suggestions??

Well, umm.. ALL of us will be on the cruise. :thumbsup2

We have a house being built as we speak, should close in May. So we won't be at a Disney Hotel this time. We can stay in our Own beds :goodvibes

Did you want to join our Secret Santa? :santa: We have a seperate listing for that, with Cabin numbers and how many people in the Cabins.

Thanks! I had another rainy Jewelry show about an hour from my house last night! I am really glad that the rain is here though we are still under drought water restrictions.:confused3 Speaking of it is our day to water! Gotta go:rolleyes:

Would love to join the secret Santa. How do I go about this?

I will be putting little "somethings" in any stocking and/or fish extender that I find by a door that can be identified as belonging to a DISer (in addition to using the list). Magnetic door signs, Mickey Heads that say DIS or have a DIS name on them are clues to me that a DISer "lives here" and I drop something in any container I find hanging on the fish. :) :thumbsup2

Would love to join the secret Santa. How do I go about this?

1st you will need a fish extender, some people use a Christmas Stocking and others have made their very own special extender with pockets.

Just give me your Cabin number(s) if you have one yet and how many people will be in your room(s) (ages of kids if any and how many adults) and someone actually several someones :santa: will add little trinkets to your pockets. It doesn't have to be anything big or expensive. A pencil, a sticker, anything at all. Just make sure you have something on your door to let all us secret santas :santa: know you Dis :thumbsup2 Then I will add you to the list. We have a secret santa thread and on page 1 is a running list of who is in what cabins

Lets see if I can get a working Link. I'm so bad at these things.

We need to make this thread a little more active and get to know each other a little better.

One of the other threads I am a part of has been asking 10 questions about once a week with a theme. Here is the latest one:

How would you respond to the ten questions by Bernard Pivot that host James Lipton asks every guest on Inside the Actors Studio?

lipton.gif

1. What is your favorite word?
2. What is your least favorite word?
3. What turns you on [creatively, spiritually or emotionally]?
4. What turns you off?
5. What is your favorite curse word?
6. What sound or noise do you love?
7. What sound or noise do you hate?
8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
9. What profession would you not like to do?
10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates?

Be careful answering #5!

This can be fun and very informative. I hope everyone likes this and we do more of these.
