It is definitely going to be a quiet week on here with so many already headed out on their vacations. We leave on Friday to drive to Downtown Disney for the night. We want to be closer to the port for a more relaxed drive over on Saturday morning :thumbsup2

We'll probably do some pin trading at DTD :woohoo:

I just had a minute to check in - need to get to bed. Sunday's are an early day for us!

We were thinking of going to DTD on Friday as well. Is there a lot to do for kids? I don't think we will feal like the parks on Friday and I want to get to bed early so we can get to the ship by 11 at the latest.

How long will your drive to Disney take, for us it is 7 or so hours. I get so excited when we cross the state line.:cool1:

DTD is mostly shopping and eatting.. ;)

There is Disney Quest which is always fun.. I'm not sure of the cost though..

They sometimes have singing, dancing, bands, or little skits on a small stage beside the lake.

Then there's that jolly  old man you can tell what you would like for Christmas.

Pleasure Island has night clubs, eating, and more shopping.

Westside has eating, shopping, and if I remember correctly stilt walkers. There is also Disney Quest and Cirque.

WE leave Thursday and hope to see the Shuttle take off. Last time we went to see a shuttle take off and got there about three hours before it was to take off and they called the launch off.

We did see one of the Apollo launches a long time ago. It was amazing to hear and see and feel. :woohoo:

In total we have missed 3 launches.

We have seen a total of 2 launches. One was them was the space shuttle, the other an Apollo mission.

I plan on doing a little shopping and eating at DD. We also plan on going to the nearby outlet mall. Got to visit the Disney outlet store.

We always seem to Miss the Shuttle launches by a day or two :guilty:
I was hoping Thursdays would be delayed but I highly doubt it will happen..

We leave Friday night to get to Orlando.. Our flight won't be in til 10pm

It's about a 2.5 - 3 hour drive from our door to Disney - not too bad, as long as we don't get behind orange trucks (we take the backroads, rather than interstate).

There is a train ride and carousel. Oh, and the LEGO store has a building area outside with lots of bricks. The Toy Store has an area where you can build a Mr. Potato head and other stuff. You don't have to buy, you can just play a bit :) Of course, there's all the figures outside the stores and lots of pretty things to look at. So, YES, you and your family can probably enjoy a couple hours (at least) at DTD :thumbsup2

We'll probably get there around 8:30 or 9pm and stay for an hour or two. My kids want to be at the port at 10 on Saturday, so we'll need to get up and get moving!

We have no idea how to get to the port from WDW. We know how to get to WDW from GA, but no idea how to get on to the port.

We use to live in Ft. Myer's close to Sanibel and the beach area. I loved it there. I wished we had never left.

My grandson use to really love going to the LEGO store at DD. He never wanted to leave. :rolleyes1

We stayed at Saratoga Springs last night and did Downtown Disney and Pleasure Island. There is plenty to do there. It was a bit crazy because they were having a jr. football championship at wide world of sports. Ghiradelli has the best ice cream/chocolate. And I always have to go to Goofy's candy store and create my own Mickey shaped candy covered rice crispy treat.popcorn:: Yum!

Well, DH decided today that he will be taking the laptop after all. I had assumed he would and was actually kind of surprised when he'd said earlier on that he didn't think he'd take it. But, it gives him peace of mind to check in at work, so I'm okay with that. He's also said he'll just be going with the by-the-minute thing rather than getting a plan. So I really don't think he plans to spend much time online.

We'll probably take my DW's laptop because her's is smaller than mine and weighs about half what mine does. There will be no online activity though. It is only for downloading and working on photos. :surfweb:

Glad to see you are back, I was starting to get worried.

I thought we would break 20,000 posts before we left. It is not going to happen.:sad2:

I am finally going to make my signs tonight and finish the angel costume and address all the holiday cards for our business. While talking to all of us who are still left at home.:rolleyes1

We're taking ours - with two home businesses, we need to be able to check on things. I am also attempting to get my Disney Blog set up so I can blog daily from the ship :thumbsup2

I want to start on my signs, but have to write some product reviews for a newsletter deadline first. Work before play! :surfweb:
