Good evening everyone! :goodvibes

Our computer died a couple of days ago and I had to go buy one today. :surfweb: The old one that I built lasted 11 years so I guess we got our money's worth out of it. ;) We are in full packing and prep mode as we leave in 2 days! Woohoo! :cool1: I know everyone else is excited too. :thumbsup2

- Bill

I feel your pain! I finally got my new computer a couple of weeks ago. But it just wasn't cutting it. So it went back before the 14 day trial period was up. Spent twice as much, but got one that runs well :thumbsup2

I've been working on my skirt tonight in an effort to get it "done enough" to know if it was going to work before I put all the finishing work into it.

So, ... uhmmm... yeah... I'll be going shopping this weekend. :upsidedow

This is may be my son's last Santa year. The oldest is turning 9 and the younger is 5. I've planned 7 nights of Christmas with Santa visiting each night while they sleep with little presents through next Thursday night. We leave next Friday for Orlando. Then on the ship I'm going to have presents each night on their pillow from Mickey.

Hello everyone! Just found out about this site and have found it to be a big help. :thumbsup2

Our family is so excited about the trip. Will be wifey, 12yr princess: , 2 4 yr pirate: pirate: , and myself. This will be our 4th disney cruise but first in the last 4years.:woohoo: Hope all will go well.

Is there any big changes we should know about? I tried reading through the navigators and it looks as if its about the same with some minor differences.

Thanx, (not spanx)

Bob

What are the inserts for the kids? Do my kids need inserts, I am sure they will want inserts. They want everything!;)

There are pouches that hang from them and adults can put their key cards in them but some do not let the kids have keys or want them hidden so I am making cards with the kids name and favorite disney character on it - and 2 sided so those kids with keys can slip it in between and no one may know they have a key. If you want to have one made for your kids send me a PM with their names (or what you want on it) and their fav. charactor.

I am so glad your husband will be home. I hope he doesn't hve to go back.

Did you get the shuttle tickets that include the meal? I heard the meal is really fun.

I thought I was busy. I have done half of what you have, have not been sick and I am exhausted. I am impressed.

Hubby will be home :) but will be going back at the end of December :(

We did not do the shuttle tickets that included the meal because we may be going back for the Merry Christmas Party - so did not want to tie ourselves down.

I stay busy! Oh and did I mention I run a website about Christmas :) so this is my busiest time of the year :)

I am really impressed now! I love Martha. Did you see the show after her mother passed? Really odd vibes, she seemed a little too light or something.
I wish I could get over my fear of air travel so I could do quick trips like your trip.:sad2: Maybe some day. I am still tramatized by the hour on 9/11 when I couldn't get in touch with DH. He was headed to Newark from Atlanta that morning. Then I went up with him the next week, we drove. Still really freaked out.

Yes I saw that show - I think we all deal with death differently and I know I acted differently around everyone when my mother died than I did in private because I was the one who had to be strong for everyone and they may have been the case with her or something like it - my uncle won tickets in the Macy's VIP sweepstakes that included going to the show (if you saw that one - he was the only man winner :) ) and it was filmed the day of the funeral - but the show had to go on - - - and who knows - her and her mother may have talked about what to do if . . . .

We are not planning on dressing up on formal night. Any suggestions for what we can fo for dinner?

Enjoy a quiet night outside of Topsiders or gather up food from other places you want and go find a place to "picnic" on the ship.

I've still got some floating around from about that age. The first one we bought is an IBM with a 233 Mhz AMD proc in it and a 20 GB hard drive. It's still in running condition. I can't throw old PC's away :)

Neither does my hubby - I am ready to rent a storage unit for all the extra's!

DH and I usually go to Topsider's on formal night. We really enjoy it there. On our last cruise we were in diversions on formal night and just grabbed a hot dog and later went up to deck 9 for some fries. We like to just wing it when we cruise and do whatever we feel like at the time.

I know that this can sometimes be a touchy subject but if you want to go to formal night you should go. You do not need to have a formal dress or a tux. On one cruise when we told our servers we would not be at formal night because we don't like to dress up they told us to come anyway...that formal dress is "suggested" not necessary. I like to travel light. DH does not pack a suit jacket. If we go to formal night DH wears black slacks, white shirt and tie and I feel perfectly fine in black slacks and a white sweater. We have been on enough cruises that I don't feel that I am missing anything if we don't attend. If this is your first cruise and you want to experience formal night you really don't need to dress formal. Just go and enjoy!:goodvibes

Welcome! I have a 12 yo daughter who will be on the cruise too! Maybe they can meet up - she really likes making new friends. Does your daughter like to do the clubs?

:welcome: Glad you found us!:disrocks:

Sorry to hear about the loss of your pets. My kitties are getting older and i can't imagine being without them.
My mom is our petsitter. She used to own/run a in home pet sitting company and was glad to move onto other things. So im not sure if she appreciates having to come over twice a day to feed our spoiled cats! Plus, she told us if we got a ferret we would have to find someone else.

DS had a ferret for awhile once. PHEW!! Stinky. He kept telling me I would grow to love her, but nope. Too smelly for me! We have a 16 year old cat. He no longer catches mice or moles. He is a very sweet guy.

Yes, there are more lunch options then those. You can go to Lumieres, they have shrimp cocktail! We ate at Tritons on the Wonder and it was very good. I never ate the buffet lunch, I am sure I will try it this time.
Oh, Goofy's has wonderful paninnis and wraps and salads.

TACOS!! Deck 9. Yummer!

Good evening all!

Just made it in from the packing, moving, and college basketball game. Unfortunately I saw a jaywalking girl get hit. Almost the same spot where a girl was killed when I was in school. I don't know if it is a college toen thing but I am always seeing people get hit around here.

I am going to be too tired to pack my stuff. I have to go help my mom again tomorrow and I am planning on taking the kids to see abig drive thru Christmas light display. I am not sure I will make it.

I still need to decorate the tree, kids weren't into decorating. They are too tired. I am going to do it in the morning.

This time next week I should be crossing the GA/FL state line!

Sorry to hear you witnessed that. :grouphug:

We still have had no luck getting brunch reservations and are kinda bummed about. I was checking every day and just gave up. I read a report where someone had boarding card #7 and still didn't get to do the brunch.

They do have a waitlist also and I have heard folks have luck with that also.

I am really impressed now! I love Martha. Did you see the show after her mother passed? Really odd vibes, she seemed a little too light or something.

I had flown to St. Louis on Sept 10. Americans have short memories, but that is a day I will never forget. I could not get home until Sunday. That was the day I got my priorities straight! Dennis and I have not traveled without each other further than we can drive since then. I learned that day that if we are together anything is ok, if we are separated in a time of crisis it is NOT ok. My chest still gets tight when I think about it. It was very, very lonely in St Louis.

We are not planning on dressing up on formal night. Any suggestions for what we can fo for dinner?
Dennis ate at Topsiders one night when I was ill and he enjoyed it alot. Or, if you wear something other than worn out sweatpants I am sure you will not feel out of place in the dining room.

Dennis still has the Timex Sinclair he had back in the late 1970's (you hooked it to the TV and ran it with a tape recorder!). We just threw out all the others he has had since then. We still have 2 plus 3 laptops. :sad2:

I've been working on my skirt tonight in an effort to get it "done enough" to know if it was going to work before I put all the finishing work into it.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I like you already, Bob!! Welcome!

DH and I usually go to Topsider's on formal night. We really enjoy it there. On our last cruise we were in diversions on formal night and just grabbed a hot dog and later went up to deck 9 for some fries. We like to just wing it when we cruise and do whatever we feel like at the time.

Yes, what she said!

We had SNOW tonight! We live at 600 feet and there was about a half in accumulation when I got home. Weatherman did not seem to think it was getting below 1000 ft, but :scared1: it was falling pretty good as I came over the hill to get home. Time to go to Florida! :woohoo:

The lanyards are HERE! They are so cool! I will now start dividing them up and making the inserts for those who asked for the kids.

Thanks Krisann! I sent you a PM with the final count for the lanyards.

Do you really think the party is worth it? We are trying to decide to do it or not Thursday after the Shuttle - as it would be less crowded than the Saturday after the cruise. I can not seem to make up my mind.

I don't think there's a party on Saturday night, but we're going to the one on Sunday. If you will be at WDW on Sunday, I'd suggest going to that party if you go at all. I found out from this thread that you can actually enter the park at 4pm with your MVMCP ticket. That'd give you 8 hours Sunday night vs however many you can squeeze in on Thursday after the launch. Plus think how stressful it'd be to fight the traffic coming back. I think I'd plan something very flexible that night.

We plan to go :thumbsup2 maybe we'll see you then :yay:

Cool! We plan to be there when they start at 3pm, and then are going to hangout at the Boardwalk afterwards. Btw, Jasmine was planning on trading her DLRP pins for 2 pins each on the ship. But she said she'd trade you one for one. :thumbsup2

Well I just caught up on the past couple of days. Screaming baby girl has a diagnosis FINALLY. Double ear infection and to think Monday she was fine???

Oh poor baby! Thank goodness this happened at home, BEFORE your trip. Hope you get some good sleep now! :cloud9:

We are not planning on dressing up on formal night. Any suggestions for what we can fo for dinner?

You can wear something clean and presentable and go to dinner in the Dining Room. If you prefer to skip the Dining Room, and still want some really good food, then go up to Topsiders. We really like going up there, as you get the same food as in one of the dining rooms downstairs, but you can eat at your own pace. Its nice when you just want to get in and out. One family wrote about how they ate out by the pool one night, and had the whole pool to themselves. They said it was a neat experience.

I can't throw old PC's away :)

Me either, between the 2 of us we've got 2 desktops (one with a HUGE 19" monitor), 3 laptops, 2 b/w laser printers, an old color fax/printer/copier, and I just bought a new network color AIO printer! I think I'll be the same way with TVs. When we get back to the states I want to buy a HD plasma, but will probably have the huge clunkers still laying around the house!

That sounds like fun! But my DD9 still "chooses to believe" in Santa. She doesn't like me to tell other people that she believes in Santa, so I think she's on to me. But she likes to play the game.

Hi Bob! Welcome to you and your family! I think that's the 3rd set of twin boys we have on this cruise! I'm traveling with my DD9, and my siblings and their families for a family reunion. This is our 4th DCL cruise also. Our first was in 2003 and they seem to get better everytime! There's a Navigator from the Oct 13th sailing at castawayclubdotcom, if you want to see the recent activities.

Please click on the lime green link in my signature below, so you can see our cruise blog with all of the pertinent info. The first meet is at 3pm on Dec 10 Starboard on Dec 8th.

Will you be at WDW before or after the cruise?

I know that this can sometimes be a touchy subject but if you want to go to formal night you should go....If this is your first cruise and you want to experience formal night you really don't need to dress formal. Just go and enjoy!:goodvibes

My thoughts exactly! :thumbsup2

I am so happy for you! I love snow and we had none last year. Good years we get an inch or two. Better than none. Everything shuts down because no one can drive in snow in GA. Well I am sure people who have moved here can but most locals just can't drive. Three flakes fall and everyone runs off the roads.

I have been wanting to make a snow machine. It does get cold enough to make snow here, but with the water ban it is out of the question this year.

Anyone travleing with teenagers (17-19)? DD(18) has never really met anyone on the ship and is not bringing a firend this time. I think she will have more fun if she meets some kids her own age.

Got to get started...all this moving to do for my mom. And the painting.

It will be good and we will get finished. I must go to Targt today! Got to get started packing.

Got my documents the other day. But more importantly I got my Spanx today!!

DCL really should include a letter with the docs that reminds you to put them in the packet you got earlier with the shore excursion info. I'm glad they send the info out early, so you can book online. But unless you put the docs and luggage tags in the foldover velcro booklet, they do look quite unimpressive. I would've forgotten about it, if someone hadn't mentioned it upthread.

Leaving work early today for a hair appt. I'll check in later.
Wendy

I am off to fill the car up and return all those DVDs to Blockbuster. I hope the kids get ready while I am gone. I just woke them up and they all just groaned. :rolleyes1
