Nope, don't need a porter, thats what all the kids are for. In fact, when I first read your post I decided to bring 3 extra suitcases and 2 less kids, but I have since changed my mind. I think I will need all 5 kids just to tote all this stuff.....

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

If you are not flying you can bring as many suitcases as you want. They will hand out extra luggage tags at the curb where you unload. Porter can help you tote it all back to the car after the cruise (for a tip of course). All us folks that have to fly have problems fitting it in and not going over weight though.

When flying inside Europe, you can usually only take 20 kilos per person in Economoy class. Somehow we managed not to go over the weight limit going to and from the 11 Night Med - even with the souvenirs!

I have an idea, how about if we are posting a real "cruise" question to put CRUISE? (question) or CRUISE! (statement) in the title so we know to read it because to be honest there I times when I skim through and when I see someone quote I am wondering how I missed that important tidbit of info...So what does everyone think

I agree, we need some type of code. I'm afraid we're losing folks who don't have time to keep up on the thread. Maybe we need another thread that says "Important Info for the Dec 8th Magic" or something like that?

I try to read every post in case there's something that needs to go on the blog. But everyone please feel free to PM me if I miss something!

I'd be lion if I said I knew so I will defer to the experts.

Good Morning !! sorta' ;)

DS will be leaving in a few minutes and DH a few after that and Me, well I have to be at work at 10.. So I get almost a 2 hour nap :cloud9:

Wendy, Thank You for the update on the Landyards and your efforts :thumbsup2

My brother called me last night.. Him and his wife live in Key West.. He has a meeting to go to in Orlando and wanted to know if he can use our house for a night or 2.. Of course I said Yes.. He does have a key and was told he could use it whenever he wants as long as he cleans up after..

I warned him, there has been a frog or two in the hole where the water shut off is  so be careful.. Not sure who they get in there cause there is a cover on the hole :confused3

Wonder if he'll grab a screwdriver and put together some furniture for us :rolleyes1

Jennifer and I have discussed this a few times as our kids can be quite a handful at times. We actually felt bad for the 2 people they had seated at our table on the last cruise as our kids were relentless. :dance3: So given that, we like everyone on here too much to do that to them :goodvibes and actually look forward to something rare these days...dinner as a family. :scared1:

We appreciate the thought though. :grouphug:

I understand as I might have agreed to something I'll regret with my DD and the boys. My DD can be prissy at time but can be one of the boys too and get in trouble.

Good morning! :wave2:
I plan on taking some Clorox wipes and swabbing down the worst offenders... the tv remote, the door handles, the faucets, the light switches, etc. I've also found a small disenfectant spray that's basically alcohol that can be sprayed on the shower floor, etc. Lysol now makes a 1oz travel size disenfectant, but I haven't been able to find it for sale anywhere yet. It's relatively new. I'm not so much a "clean freak" as a "germ freak." I live in happy clutter. But it's germ-free happy clutter. :rotfl:

That being said... I was thinking the other day... I know the cabin stewards come in and clean up each night, wipe down the sinks, etc. But do you think they use a clean rag for each cabin? Cause the thought of them using the same rag they wiped someone else's cabin down with... :crazy2:

Good idea on the wipes, I'll add a few to the list.

You reminded me of a story...my first "office job". The cleaners who came in at night cleaned the coffee mugs we left on our desks. Woohoo! Until one night a co-worker witnessed the process...the guy pushed around his little cart with a pail of warm water. Into which he dipped his rag as he wiped, cleaned, etc. Into which also went our mugs. Which were then polished dry with the same cloth. :crazy2:

It drives me nuts that the boys do not wash their hands all day long at school that they use only the sanitizer.... So I make them go to the bathroom when they get back from the bathroom and wash their hands when the teacher is not there and they have to ask to use the restroom before they eat to wash their hands with soap and water.... When I found out they go from recess to lunch with just using sanitizer I almost fainted I mean the sand box is just a litter box.... :scared: I can just imagine the other parents will freak out if they knew what was going on.

Eww.

I have an idea, how about if we are posting a real "cruise" question to put CRUISE? (question) or CRUISE! (statement) in the title so we know to read it because to be honest there I times when I skim through and when I see someone quote I am wondering how I missed that important tidbit of info...So what does everyone think

Good idea! :thumbsup2

I haven't had a chance to start my skirt yet :sad2: Guess I'm gonna work on it this weekend. I did get the sewing machine up and running though. That thing was duuuuuuuuuuuusty.

I was wondering!

I was hoping they would delay the Space Shuttle for 2 days :thumbsup2 That would be an amazing site to watch Live from the Magic

It could happen! I am surprised it hasn't yet, with all the complications with the last couple of flights, but of course I've seen it cancelled an hour out b/c of unexpected weather. I really, really want to see it, I don't care how or where!! :hyper:

In 48 hours, we will be on a plane bound for VEGAS!!! Woo Hoo!!! In 56 hours, I should be savoring the goodness that is IN/OUT burger. The yard is covered in leaves but we got an inch of rain last night. It is much colder today that it was yesterday.

DH and I are currently making up a funny list of DD's routine for the people who are watching her. They are going to think we are NUTS!!!

DD wake up sharp alarm or not at 5:30

After bathroom duties, she expects 13 grapes arranged in a star of David pattern (this cannot be made the night before)

She eats them in bed

After this, she is read every word under a letter of the dictionary. Today we would be starting with "M"

She then watches exactly 26:30 minutes of television programming with the Spanish track playing, if not available she must watch Telemundo

After this she drinks no more and no less than 3/4 ounces of Milk from her sterling silver cup. The temperature must read 41 degrees before her first sip

Clothes for the day are laid out and she does dress herself, though strings must not be in her shoes as we must re-string and tie them each time she puts them on

For breakfast she eats a banana with NO brown spots (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT), a cup of watermelon, and two egg whites softly scrambled.

Lunch includes 39 shelled edamame beans from Mama Fu's. You usually do not have to call as they know we will be picking them up at 11:35

Her bath at night must have exactly 3" of bubbles level across her bathwater. She must play in the water for exactly 11 minutes before bathing herself.

While drying her hair, she must brush her hair exactly 252 times or she will not go to bed. She often loses count and must start over.

She is allowed to make 3.5 minute calls to her cousin, to her nana and to her aunt each night She MUST talk to each person or she will not sleep no matter how late. We must call until we reach all three
We are not sure what to add next.

I posted on the main board for more perspectives, but I know I'll probably get more detail from you guys. :flower3:

Dd will be 5 in Feb. I was planning on her going to the 3-4 club while ds is in the 5-7 club. I know they will be together for some stuff, which works--they are good playmates. But it seems like all the 4 yo's are getting "bumped up" to the 5-7 group? The activities in the 3-4 look sweet and fun, but dd would be bored if all the kids were significantly younger than her. (And at this age, 6 mos can be significant developmentally.)

How separate are they, really? I mean if Snow White comes in for dancing and dd dashes across the "great divide" of the 5 yo's, will that be ok??

Really glad to hear about the rain, you guys. :thumbsup2

Just had to report that dd has gone into her closet AGAIN and picked out her formal night dress and put it on. She is totally in love with this dress, I have never seen her so attached to a piece of clothing. She's a polos-and-pants kind of girl generally. She is also scribbling on a big sheet of paper "dictating" a love-letter to her nana. Nana is very hard of hearing so there's no way I could explain it to her, but it is the sweetest thing ever.

Now that everyone knows I have blindingly-pasty skin, I have a related question--does every WOMAN (I will not say everyONE b/c some smart-a$$ will start talking about cross-dressing ;) ) wear hose? I have a long dress for formal night with open-toed sandals, and I'd really love not to wear panty hose. Same for my below-the-knee and knee-length dressy dresses... :confused3

And in general, no shorts at dinner? Not even the first night? I don't do capris, they look awful on me; I do have a couple of pairs of bermuda-ish ones that are within a couple of inches of capris, just not "in spirit". Kids too? Ds' shorts are all nice khaki sorts, not knit "gym" shorts.

I know we can always go to Topsiders or one of the quick-service places, and we may if there's no "special" reason to get dressed up. It just sounds like work, to make sure everyone's changed by 5:30 or so, when the sun's still out and it's the Caribbean...

Ok so... Tell me what you think... Anyone feel free to chime in when you read this...

I have a notebook type scrapbook.. It was part of a gift basket I won and never used it.. It looks similar to a sketch pad but with a Spiral wire to hold the pages together.. Acid free and all..

Ok.. If I were to decorate it all Dis and DCL and Disney themed.. and bring it on the ship.. It's not that heavy and can be packed in my suitcase without being ruined..

I was thinking of using it for Autographs.. which I haven't done since DS was like 9 years old and interested in Characters..

Plus... have all the Dis members who are willing to sign it for me.. sign.. and I take Pictures of them and add them to the book when I get home... Kinda like a HS Yearbook..

Or.. am I being too corny? :confused3

KEWL idea!! :cool1: I will be coveting your book! ;)

No Fair... You leave in 17 days... We don't leave for 22 more.. :snooty:

We leave in 17 days too! :yay: :yay: :dance3: :woohoo: HHHMMM.. maybe I should start gathering up our stuff to pack this weekend.:sad2: I think I will "stage" the cruise stuff in the motorhome. That will get it all in one place and out of the way for Thanksgiving. :thumbsup2

I'm hoping for this also. I don't know if we can expect that magic two years in a row though.

I don't understand why you folks have trouble with your children. :confused3 Ours were always perfect and well behaved. :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rolleyes1

That sounds like an awesome idea!!!! :thumbsup2 Of course, I'm a scrapbook nut now that I've finished my first one!!! Let me know if you need help with anything for it!!!

How sweet! :cutie: Our children and grandchildren have always LOVED getting all dressed up. When DGS was 3 we took the whole family on a 4 day cruise. This little on LOVED his shiny black dress shoes so much that he wore them everywhere. One of my favorite photos of him is by the Mickey Pool in his bathing suit with his shiny black dress shoes and black socks!

My DD6 is excited about her fancy "big girl" dress too BUT she thinks it's for x-mas. She doesn't know and will not know til the cruise is upon us. Her big girl dress has 1 inch strapes (she says spaghetti strapes) and could be tucked in for strapless but she doesn't have anything to hold it up then. I have always dressed her in smocked dresses up to this point so she's outgrowing them and wants "big girl". My baby is growing up so fast.:sad1: :sad1:

I wear nylons on Formal and Semi-formal nights if I wear a dress. I have dressy pants this year so Spanx only! :rotfl2:

The official dress code is no shorts in the dining rooms. I take a couple of sun dresses and find they are super easy to slip on before dinner. :thumbsup2 Although there is MUCH discussion on this board about dress code, we try to abide by the code set by our host where ever we are. DCL is our host and asks no shorts so we put a pair of slacks on the kids with a polo or button up shirt and sun dress for the girls.
