He also told us a little bit about what he called the "onboard mafia". He didn't mean it in a bad way, but it was what life was like.

He and his roommate had a cabin steward which they tipped. He would also tip the head waiter for better table assignments, the kitchen staff to get his food up in a hurry and sometimes he would tip a co-worker to reset the tables after the second seating. They had to be done before he left the dining room for the breakfast seatings. If he was tired which he always was, he would slip someone some cash to set up his area so he could get a few extra moments of sleep.

Here is another question.

I know if you have late seating, you eat on the last day at a second breakfast seating. If you are not going to eat breakfast on the ship, can you just walk off when they announce that people can leave?

I may actually try and take a nap today because it was not a restful night out on the couch.

Did you see our governor on the news yesterday on the steps of the capitol praying for rain? I am sure that will play well across the rest of the country. Something there about mixing church and state.

I heard a report on one of the nat'l networks this morning about the prayer meeting. The reporter kind of chuckled and said GA might get rain today. He added "less than 1/2 an inch". I think he thought the whole thinkg was rather silly. I don't care what works, we need rain.

I loved the ministers on TAR on Sunday talking about how they had prayed during the race, but said "We do not think g*d really cares if we win the Amazing Race." Very humble and very funny. I was sorry to see them go.

I am reading the most recent Nagivators (as my DD calls them) and on the last day it talks about settling your account. It is a fact of life that many people in America and who take cruises are living beyond their means and overextended on credit. I wonder would it happen if they could not pay their final bill because they had maxed out their credit cards?

Would they be forced to stay on the ship? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yes, you can just walk off then. Don't forget that Topsider's buffet is open early for breakfast on the last morning. DH and I always go there then. It is very convenient.

The DIS is not cooperating for me. Way too slow today so I'm off for now. Have a good day everyone!

So WIFamily,

How is your son feeling this morning. Is his face still purple or is there some blacking and bluing going on.

Thank you thank you for your answer!!! We figure we would lightly snack if anything and then get on the road for the drive back.

I think the rest of the DIS is waking up because we have hit lag city.

But I cannot give up now. Of course everyone will come out of the woodwork and I will be a bridesmaid again. Oh well such is life.

So emi, Who is performing your service on board? I know you said you are having a shoreside civil service, but wondered what happens on the ship?

I need to make several returns to the store today, so I need to get going, but I am so so close.
