Ok so I have been holding my tongue as not to cause any problems.. But.. I am curious....

So which was it? :confused3

I guess sometimes it is just difficult to remember what room you are in.:rolleyes1 That is one reason we make those door signs. It really helped my mom remember what cabin she was in. :)

By the way, how do I book one of those inside cabins with the secret verandah:confused3 And how difficult is it to open that verandah door??

Howdy All,

First chance I had to post since the cruise. Got sort of lucky that my boss allowed overtime this past week (will be able to pay for some of the previous weeks expenses):scared1: .

I read a few posts and it seems that everyone had an overall good time. Weather at times was frightful (no fire to speak of but the in room movies were o.k.) but it was for just the first couple of days. After that all was well.

We had a good time. DD met a few friends and has not stopped talking to them since even thought they are a few states away. My DS(x2) had a good time and were sad to leave. In the car they kept asking to go back to the ship. DW liked the cruise but not the seas. This was our forth Dis Cruise and like them a lot but would have to say that this one is at the bottom. Dining service was less than desireable (our server was even sick two nights and we had trainees for those nights, every one else around us had the head server, odd you think!) must be that my boys were acting like such at dinner. Asst server was quite friendly and personable but didn't serve drinks well.

Shows were great as usual but I do like the hercules show and missed it.
favorite was day at CC just love that island. Cool to see the "Flying Dutchman" there as well. Anyone know where the "Black Pearl" is?

Kids liked the clubs as expected but my sons wanted to do other things like explore the ship rather than be in club. Does anyone know where you can go to see where (if any) hidden mickeys are on the ship. I thought I found a few but wanted to check.

On an other note that picture of the towel that no one is sure of? I would report it to the cruise director. Kids should not be seeing anything like that.

I just came from our local Walmart. What a mistake! I went out to buy a computer (a family Christmas present), and started at Sam's Club, but the computer I wanted wasn't the price I wanted to pay, so I convinced my son to go with me to Walmart (next door). I found exactly the same computer for less than I expected to pay! Weird, since Sam's Club and Walmart are the same company. So once I sign off here, I'm going to start unpacking and test driving my new system!

I have found Walmart to be cheaper on many things like first release DVD's. etc. I am looking for a new P&S camera and WM has it cheaper online than Sam's.

I have only used DELL's at home but I want a Mac bad, so I have no experience with Vista either since my desktop was purchased in 2001 and my laptop in 2005.

:rotfl2:

And if you actually step out ONTO that verandah from the inside stateroom will someone have to hit the man overboard button?? :rotfl:

So which was it? :confused3
It was a mistype as we were on the promenade on Deck 4 watching. Heck all of Deck four felt like your balcony as there was rarely anyone there. The gym felt like our gym early in the morning because it was usually empty.

The one I just bought is a Dell (my first Dell). This notebook is a Gateway, our other notebook is an IBM which we bought refurbished. Our desktops are Compaqs. Unlike most artists, I don't have a Mac because I started with PC's and just learned everything I know about graphic design using them. We bought our first computer in the summer of 1980, so I've grown up with the PC world!

Hi, Welchfam!

I'm glad I had a chance to say "Hi" in the elevator! There were so many DIS'ers on board that for a while it looked like we had taken over the ship! Maybe that's not a bad idea.....

I, too, love the Hercules show. I'm sorry that it's leaving Wonder, too. It was always very funny!

The weather on CC was the best we've ever had, and this was our seventh DCL cruise. It was absolutely perfect!

The Black Pearl was in St. Lucia in Dec 2004 when the Magic was there. They came out and fired at us as we sailed into the harbor that morning. Very fun, I got a great photo of it. I assume it is still there since I have not heard any different.

Sorry to hear the a few people did not have great service at dinner. Ours was amazing as it has always been. There are, of course, as many different personalities as there are servers and we have had different interactions with the servers on each of our 10 cruises, but they have all given us excellent service. Some are more interactive and fun. We do not expect them to "dote" on the children in our group as at least one mentioned they expect, but we do expect good recommendations, prompt service and attention to our needs. William, our server this cruise, was right on with his recommendations. DrHug wanted to order the ribeye steak one night, but William told him he thought he would be disappointed and recommended something else. DrHug went with William's recommendation, but William also brought him the ribeye. He was absolutely correct....the ribeye was a disappointment and his recommendation was great.

Guess you and I were not on Deck 4 at the same time. Lots of folks there each time we were out there. :confused3 Shuffleboard games going on, folks running, folks smoking, folks like us in the deck chairs - most of them being used each time we were out there-, staff in their yellow coveralls washing and cleaning.

There are cat 7 navigator's verandahs with a secret full obstructed balcony.
The SPH cabins are 5020, 5022, 5024, 5620, 5622 and 5624.
The cat 7's secret verhanda are 7120, 7620, 6134, and 6634..

LOL :rotfl2: I am ashamed to say that I had to look that word up but I am glad I am not the only one in the world that thought that too. I was going to reference the Everybody Loves Raymond episode where his mom makes the sculpture but I wasn't sure if it was over the top. Could this towel be the missing piece from Emi's mystery towel creation? ;)

- Bill

LOL, the term/word is from Grey's Anatomy :).

Hi Aunt Michele

I sent you a PM :goodvibes

Yup! See above--I'll have lots of new chances to do stuff with all those fonts and graphics!

I had the wonderful opportunity to chat with Ducky in the pool. The older gentleman who was with him (maybe his dad?) likes the ladies and was trying to strike up a conversation with all of them! It was very interesting to talk to him since I do some computer animation myself. He's such a pleasant man to talk to!

OK, now I'm going to start setting up the "family Christmas present". They all understand that it will be my primary work station (for my artwork and animation), but when I'm not using it the rest of the family will be able to use it if they want to, although now each person will have his/her own computer. I'm not going to connect it to the internet until I'm sure that it's what I want. I have no experience with Windows Vista, so I may have a pretty good learning curve here. I'll be back later!

Beth

Congrats on the new computer...

Beth did you see this post?? http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=22242649&postcount=17383

Tell Jim to try it and to come on in!! The water is fine :rotfl2:

Any Vista questions please feel free to pm or email me :)

We liked Deck 4 for strolls, minus the smoke. It reminded me of the old pictures from the oceanliners with the teak wood and chairs. After our excursion on St. Maarten, the older kids wanted to go into the clubs. So, we were out there with Cole "people-watching" and we saw lots of the cruisers from the RC ship heading to their gangway and snapping photos of the Magic. We saw one group singing the Mickey Mouse song. Either they were really drunk or wish they were on our ship. It made me proud to be on her. Also, when we were sailing away from St. Thomas, the people on the RC ship were dancing to our band as we were sailing away. It was very cool to see them all out there watching us sail away. I get a kick when the Captain sounds the horn. No other cruise line can top "When You Wish Upon A Star". :goodvibes

While driving to the store the other day with the family in the car, I turned down the radio and in my best monotone voice said "Vee are now traveling East-South-East at 35 miles per hour... One mile is equal to .85 nautical miles. The pavement is currently at a depth of 3 inches". Everyone started laughing hysterically.

I will never forget having captain Thom reading our wedding vows!
"Do you tek zis vomen"!

Sunday, on the plane home :sad2: we talked with a young couple who were on the Mariner docked next to us in St Thomas (sorry, I am fuzzy on the details) any how.....they said they loved hearing our ship's horn. While they enjoyed their cruise, they wished they had been on the Magic because everyone looked happy and like we having fun. They love all things Disney even though they don't have children yet. They did not book DCL because they were worried that children would over run the ship. We reassured them we would not have booked number 7 if that was the case. We love the adult only areas, etc. We love kids but been there, done that with our own.

I love the ignore feature, too bad I didn't know about it months ago......like maybe September or so.

And now i have the door signs on my fridge to feel a little more at home! It sure is disapointing though when i open the door...
