:goodvibes As already mentioned, Happy Thursday JoAnne! :goodvibes

We are watching the Jets and Cowboys game. We ate and had the kitchen cleaned up and in the dishwasher within an hour and 15 minutes.

Our menu was

Beef Brisket
Oyster stuffing for Father-outlaw
Mashed Potatoes
Corn Casserole
Green Bean Casserole
Rolls and Gravy

Costco Chocolate cake for dessert.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! :goodvibes

We're having a quiet day! Browsed the Black Friday ads this morning, fixed/ate our big lunch. Cleaned up a bit, took my nap and now I'm getting ready to plan my shopping strategy for tomorrow :)

Youngest DS decided to start putting up some outside Christmas lights last night, so he finished today. Otherwise we've all be laying around having a quiet day - watching TV, playing video games, the usual :surfweb:

Hmmm....haven't had any pumpkin pie yet! May have to have a piece while I read the BF ads again. Yum!

Hope everyone is having a GREAT day!

Just finished dinner with DW. We had a beef brisket and saved a turkey this year. :goodvibes

I was working on my computer in the basement Disney room installing a slide scanner. After getting it all done the computer froze up on me during the reboot. Now it will not get past the first start up page no matter what I do. Looks like I'm going to the Geek Squad this weekend. :confused3

Hi Everyone! Hope you have had a great Thanksgiving.

I am still doing dishes, well the dishwasher is doing the work.

I pulled off Thanksgiving dinner thanks to all your help. I actually brined the turkey and it was wonderful. I cooked way too much but it worked out well because DH friends had an issue at parents house. They skipped dinner at their parents at the last minute and came up.

I am interested in the brisket everyone is mentioning. First, I don't think I have ever had brisket. Second, I wouldn't know how to make one.

Hope all you Black Friday shoppers have a good early morning! I wish I was with you but I would have to drive 2 hours to get to any stores. We do have a Home Depot but I don't need anything they have. Guess I will save more money for the ship!

Hi, everbody!

I guess we're about the last people to eat. We haven't quite gotten started yet, but will be eating within minutes. The house smells wonderful--turkey and stuffing, green bean casserole, spanakopita (not exactly traditional, but we love it), mashed potatoes, and sweet potato pie and dessert pizza for dessert.

It's been a lazy day--I slept part of the afternoon, my DS watched the Jets game :sad2: and we did almost nothing.

We have no plans to go shopping tomorrow, I think we'll just stay here and enjoy a day with nothing to do!

Enjoy the rest of your evening, everyone!

Beth

I am beginning to worry about getting sick. I don't want to miss this cruise. I am trying to stay away from sick people and it is not working. Tuesday we had dinner with friends and one had a bad cold. Wednesday I went for a haircut and the shampoo girl complained about "everything hurts and I don't feel good" the whole time she was washing my hair. Then my hairstylist (?) could hardly talk she was so hoarse. I had my flu shot in October so I hope I can stay well.:scared:

I never ever leave the house on black Friday!:scared1:

Having Thanksgiving at DS's house was a real treat. It was so nice to let someone else do the work for a change.:goodvibes

Hope everyone had a great day!

And our daughter has a sore throat, cough, and cold. Need some:wizard:

Here ya go...pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: Hope your daughter is feeling better soon and everyone else stays well. This is the first year that I got a flu shot. I haven't had the bad flu since 1971. Figured this better be the year I start to get the shot, especially since we are cruising. I have been very lucky not to have gotten it in so many years. I remember how awful it was.

Happy Thursday everyone! ;)

Have been busy all day but knew there wouldn't be much to catch up on for a change, you'd all be feasting. Dh's project's client is American and he had a reeeeeally quiet day at the office!

Many of the recipes that DDIL is using for our Thanksgiving dinner are his. His show is great--it's fun, the food is good, and you learn WHY things happen they way they happen when you cook. Even my DGD has learned to cook some things from watching his show.

We don't get Food TV anymore, but yeah, I enjoyed him too. I watch "America's Best" on PBS b/c the style is different, but the content is similar--understanding why things happen in the kitchen the way they do. :thumbsup2

I am with you...we are on double doses of Vit C and I am loathe to send the kids to school/aka the pit of contagion. Here's some :shamrock: for all of us!

In two weeks I will be in Fl and will have witnessed the shuttle launch. :hyper: :woohoo:

G'night. :cloud9:

OK, I caved in. There is a discount store in our neighborhood that was opening at midnight tonight. The first 500 people get $10 off a $20 purchase. Since I am a night owl I thought what the heck. Well, when I got there at 11:55 and saw a packed parking lot and a long line of people I turned around and came home. Wasn't worth it. Back to never leaving the house on black Friday even at midnight. There are people camping out in tents at Best Buy. Hope everyone brave enough to venture out in the morning gets some great bargains!

We are actually thinking about going out to Best Buy and maybe the mall :grouphug:

DS is going to Best Buy.. for a Monitor.. Did you see 3am people get Tickets for the Door Buster sales.. and only while they have numbers :scared1:

I am going to staples at 6am for him, since he can't do both.. for a 400GB hard drive :sad2:

I would love for the sales to be here at Midnight, I'm wide awake :confused3

I did see that but there was nothing that I really wanted in the Door Buster's so I'll go later. :thumbsup2

Good morning!

Happy Black Friday!

I went to Home Depot this morning. It is the only store in town. I bought a lovely tree for the porch. Nothing too exciting.

Hope all of you early shoppers got exactly what you wanted!:thumbsup2

I was at Staples at 4:00AM this morning! I wanted the Navigon 2100T GPS. I knew we only had 15 in stock, so I wasn't sure if I would be able to get it. When I first got online, I was about 20'ish..but more ppl get joining the people up front. Thankfully most of them watned the Laptop, so I got the GPS, and the other things I wanted in the store. We had about 29 laptops in stock. I know we had LOTS of hard drives, so I hope you got one.

The crowd was very friendly and really nice. When ppl found out I worked there, they wanted to know why I was standing online! I told them that we aren't allowed to put things aside, so there I was. I did have one of my co-workers bring me a cup of coffee while she picked up the coffee for the store. I also picked her up a digital frame, since they would be gone by the time she took her break.

I was out of Staples by 7 AM, and then went over to Target. I got the DVD's I wanted, but they were out of the few toys. Oh well. Now I am hungry and tired.

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!
