We ALWAYS shop like crazy while we're in the US, and the Canadian dollar is higher than I remember...I am used to spending 60 cent dollars, and here we are at 1.03. BUT between Christmas shopping and the cruise itself, we'll be trying to take it easy and NOT bring home a lot more stuff. Wish me luck!! Passing an outlet mall is MUCH harder for me than passing on the cheesecake!

Mmm...pistachio cake. Sound yummy.

Cheesecake...of course that's yummy! But it's the one food I've really sworn off. I mean, there is NO way to make it light and "right", and once I start, a "reasonable" serving isn't enough. So I just keep my distance.

LOL, I know what you mean. I make an Italian one, and it has 1 pound of ricotta, 1 pound of cream cheese, 1 pound of sour cream, 1/4 pound of butter and lots of sugar plus a few other things!! But it's soooo yummy! I had a small piece last nite, and a slice today.

One of the rotational dinners, I think it is Parrot Cay has creme brulee cheesecake. It is really good .

LOL, sounds like my dh. If he's the first one to suggest something, then I end up having to put it into action!

I had a snack with the kids just now, actually gave them cookies for an after school snack...must be Friday, I've loosened up on them! I've been "really good" lately, but man, I needed some chocolate. And standing in the kitchen and eating the cookies standing up so I don't have to share is NOT responsible behaviour! So I wanted chocolate, which means they got some.

...Which kinda relates to dh wanting Wendy's and you "getting" it I guess!

Creme brulee is NOT on my (short) list of forbidden foods.

I am also looking forward to the chocolate peanut butter pie, I love those two flavours together, and everyone raves about it.

Mine is very dangerous. I am sure it can be made with low fat and skim versions of the dairy. It can also be made with artificial sugar. MIL did it like that one year. But well, I prefer the full version .

I've been "hanging out" with Americans on line for a few years now, through my moms' group. Took me a while to get used to this post-Thanksgiving loneliness! I still find your whole long November/December holiday season a bit overwhelming...I like getting Thanksgiving over with before Hallowe'en!

LOL, I get that all the time though I'm from a different "accent family" entirely. I have to bite my tongue not to call you ALL "Yanks" as I know a lot of the country doesn't identify with that!!
