Hi Jennifer , how's the littlest one today? No one else showing any symptoms I hope?

Thank you for asking about DS2. He is still coughing, but never got the flu full blown. I had my flu shot yesterday and my doctor said that the vaccine sometimes makes people feel like they are getting a cold or flu. But, it is actually the body working to help protect from future illness. She wasn't too concerned about DS2. Which is a BIG relief. He is still my little baby and I hated seeing him coughing and glassy-eyed.

After my doctor game me my flu shot she told me that her arm swelled up a bit and she had a fever after getting the shot herself. Also, other patients of hers had the same reaction. Of course she gives me this information AFTER she gives me the shot! So far, so good. No swelling or fever thank goodness. But, I would have liked that information BEFORE I had the shot.

My arm was sore for about 5 days after the shot. It felt like someone had punched it hard just no bruise.

Maybe she figured if you had the information PRIOR to the shot you'd back out and she knew that you'd much rather have a few SYMPTOMS prior to the cruise than getting the full blown flu on the cruise and having to be quarantined. I agree with you though, if a doctor gives me a shot or medicine and then right after I take she says your head is about to spin around shooting out pea soup, I'd rather know of it BEFORE I take it, just so I can be aware!!!

I'm glad he's not getting worse, and that the doc isn't worried; I hear you, I think we'd much rather take whatever it is ourselves than see our wee ones unwell...

Yes, I'm glad my doc gave me full disclosure that my two would need TWO shots for it to be effective. BEFORE I committed! I've never heard of anyone here getting the mist, sounds like a much better option overall.

I know exactly how you feel. DS2 is right next to me pushing the keyboard tray back and forth. I have to type in between motions. Phew! He has grown bored with that and is now proceeding to empty the bookshelf. Okay now he is back again getting between me and the keyboard. I think he wants my attention.

What's funny about that brack is that when Robby started his MMA class he would come home with the SICKEST bruises all over his arms but he said they didn't hurt at ALL! I was afraid to even touch him and he kept saying he didn't feel a thing!!

Hi Brack! It seems like forever since the last time I was online at the same time as you. I am sorry you felt the side effects of the shot. I am hoping that maybe since I had my B12 shot at the same time, it helped? My arm isn't sore or even reddish. I hope I don't jinx it.

JoJo will do that to me too When he wants attention he'll get between me and the keyboard, then take his nose and push my hand off of the keyboard.

With that rave review, I probably would have backed out! I am a chicken when it comes to shots. Now that it is over and done, I am glad I got it. I'd hate to be the one denied boarding for a few sniffles. I need to hurry and get DS2 COMPLETELY better. We leave next Saturday for WDW and then to Port Canaveral for some other thing . . .
