Another question...rebooking.

Let's say we wanted to do another cruise in August. Just, you know, theoretically... on the website the cheapest date is Aug 24, which is a double dip. I'm getting $2500 for four, cat 12. That's a LOT, only about $200 less than we're paying for this cruise. 10% isn't going to make it worth it for us. But if we book onboard and the prices get better, can we book at the lower price and keep any part of the onboard discount? Stateroom credit or something?

And here's an even longer shot--if you're doing back-to-back (seeing as there are no 7 days from FL in August), do you get any discount for booking two together?

If i"m understanding your question...yes. You could book on board and if the prices drop you could get the better price AND keep your onboard credit. You also could book and if the prices don't drop and you want to move it out to say.....Jan 2009 :rolleyes1 you would still keep all the perks for booking onboard. Lots of folks book a "dummy date" on board and then move it to a date they really want when the later date is released.

They are very good! A bit sweet (honey) and a bit tart, juicy and crisp. The best apple I have found both for eating and expecially for pies. I like galas also. I think you should try one. The farm stand will probably cut you a slice to try.

Sounds great, Angie, I will give it a try.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope your little princess feels better soon! princess:

Thanks, she's still flaked out but not quite as miserable with some Tylenol in her I think. (That benedryl comment is biting me in the butt!:guilty: )

I have never had a honeycrisp, but gala's are one of my favorites. My Wegmans is selling a new apple called Sonya, it is a cross bet gala and red delicious. They are sweet and firm...very yummy :).
They are from New Zealand, and currently being grown only in Washington right now.

That sounds good too. Anyone else think of red delicious as "Christmas apples"? We only ever got them at Christmas, they were special! Everything else was MacIntosh, which I still dislike...

Ok, time to try to talk my two little sickies into eating some supper...ta ta for now.

Wow, I start writing a post and between interruptions from DGD by the time I finish there is another whole page since I started typing! And you all actually have time for TV, books and jobs? I'm a SAHGM who babysits DGD's and cannot even begin to keep up with you all. Don't know how you do it.:confused3

Thanks Angie, good advice. We "have" to travel in August to use up some tickets, that's why I'm thinking then! And the canal one is sold out, I just found out...

Well it is almost 5pm so I'm going to start the stew and maybe by the time DH gets home, said he'd be a little late, that it will be done :thumbsup2

Back Later !!

I've enjoyed getting to know all of you also. The details of day-to-day life make you all not quite so imaginary! And on that note, you can all help me celebrate! I finished my big project two weeks early! It's done, and it was the last big thing I had to do before vacation! I have some little things that need to be done, but this is the last big project of the year. And that's what I've been doing all afternoon. However, I can't figure out how you all got so many posts in that little bit of time!

Beth

Wooo.. congrats! :cheer2: I also love that feeling. It seems like it's hanging over my head till it's done, then suddenly, I'm home-free!

I'm feeling very virtuous, having just gotten off the elliptical. I've "earned" something, right? I bought a big box of the "100 calorie" bags at Costco last week, haven't opened them yet. (Big box of small portions... there's something wrong with that...) The hard choice is, cheesies, sun chips or doritos...:scratchin

And nobody say all three!! :scared:

Cheesies!!

So here's a legit question I've been considering...what's the consensus on pasty-ness? My limbs will be blindingly white in another month. Tan in a can?

Wear your pastiness with pride!! In earlier times, being pale was actually a sign of status. It meant you had enough money/standing to have servants do outside work for you. Therefore, you stayed inside all day and remained pale. Also the reason being plump was considered en vogue at one point in history.

But, really, I have two colors - white or red. There is no tan with me. I'll be the one reflecting into everyone's eyes at CC.

I thought I had read somewhere that you couldn't get the on board promotion for a Cat 12 room. Is that not true? We've never tried rebooking on board, but I'm definitely looking into it this time.

And as far as I know, you get absolutely no discount for booking two at a time. However, you will get the 10% off and stateroom credit for both. :thumbsup2

WoW, I have a WHOLE LOTTA catching up to do. I am still miserable, got up this morning took the boys to school, came home went back to bed, slept til lunch took a very, very long shower and felt good for about 10 minutes then was miserable all over again, I am going to my aunts this weekend and she has no internet :scared: and will probably need to take off of work monday just to catch up. Lets see............ Eric Carle, Lois Ehlert , of course Dr. Seuss, Judy Bloom (read every book she wrote when I was kid)...can you tell I am a childrens services librarian...:rolleyes1 oh and my favorite grown up author John Grisham

Oh, I don't need to google Rueben... he's my idol  ;)

Oh, I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well. I remember you saying your Mom helps with the boys. Does she live with you? I'll bet your little guys get a kick out of "taking care of Mommy" when you are sick.

Authors let's see...:scratchin

Sidney Sheldon
Danielle Steele (great for vacations)
John Grisham
Julie Garwood
Tom Clancy

And probably lots of others. I do love my reading!

We're headed out the door to go to WDW for a couple days - we just decided to go last night. Even though we have annual passes and can go "anytime", it is still a 3 hour drive and still a treat! :) Our budget can only handle so many trips - the cost of gas, hotels and eating, you know.

I can't wait to see Mickey and the fireworks - it just never gets old does it?!? pixiedust:

Everyone have a GREAT weekend!

Only 5 weeks until we cruise!

Well actually we live with them, I figured why am I paying over $1,000 a month for rent, phone, cable, water, electricity...etc. when they would come over everyday after work stay until the boys went to sleep and sleep over on the weekends......so with the money I am saving we get to go to WDW every year now and my parents are in heaven. It took them 4yrs to do it but they finally won and now everyone is happy.
They love taking care of their mommy but they kept telling me I need to get a shot to make me feel better...

The magic and the wonder are both docked in Nassau because of hurricane Noel

Wow I thought you dug it up from some file somewhere, I didn't know it was today. Where'd you find the photo?

I hope Castaway Cay wasn't hit too hard! Hopefully they just couldn't dock there because they'd evacuated the CMs.
