I may be wrong but I think that in order for someone to truly "get" Disney and what is all about :wizard:, you have to be a little bit of a romantic.

- Bill

You may be on to something there! But, I have been on several cruise threads and this one just seems to have an abundance of DHs that spend time praising their DWs and that is just WAY COOL!!

I don't know if it is just me or ALL of Dis Boards or what.. :confused3 It is taking at least 5 minutes to load and 2 minutes to load each thread.. :sad1:

:badpc:

I am hoping it opens up soon and I can post Normally again

same here. i too thought it was my computer so i re-booted. the boards must be swamped tonight <G>

I was 20 and Jim was almost 23 when we got married 35 years ago:love:. How will I know when we become responsible adults?:rotfl2:

We're growing old together, but neither one of us is growing grey. One of us is losing some of his hair, but no gray!

We haven't figured out yet what we want to be when we grow up.

Beth

Annette had just turned 18 (still in HS) and I had just turned 20 when we got married almost 36 years ago.

I think we will stick it out together for awhile longer.

So is anyone up for a hike?

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

I have been looking for this picture to show my kids. It's of the path I took to school each day in the snow (both ways)! We had it so hard in the 80s.

umm.. ok.. well since we are all sharing... here's goes my life..

I was 16 when I got pregnant with ds.. Married his Father when I turned 18.. That was "the thing to do" even though it never fully felt right.. He was/is an alcoholic.. I grew up and went into "Mommy" mode and he stayed a Partier.. We we seperated like 3 or 4 times while he "dried" out and tried again.. I finally had enough and divorced him when I was 26.. We had been seperated for almost a year as our divorce went through..

Well started working for my Hubby's Uncle and met DH.. He was also divorced, no children though.. We dated and got married and a year after we married, he adopted my son as his own..

I'm 34, DH is 37 and DS is 17.. We have been married 6 years and it is 100% different & way better.. then the 1st time.. We do things we didn't do in our first marraiges.. So it must be working

It just is all about finding that right person for you. Some of us are blessed to find - and recognize - that person early, sometimes it takes a bit longer. You and your son are very blessed to have found not only a husband but a dad also! THAT is a true love story!

I noticed the post about not giving out the names of our kids and room numbers. I really like to think Disney is safe.

I am just wondering if anyone has had anything like this happen? On our cruise last year, there was a man who I always saw by himself. He was always in the areas crowded with children. Like the pool. He really bothered me so I kept my eye on him the entire week. I never saw him with another adult or children of his own. Maybe I am making too much of this, but something about him really bothered me. When he was around I made my kids leave.

I probably should have said something to the staff. I just didn't think.

I believe it to be a very safe environment for everyone. As in any open place we should all be safe and pay attention to our children.

Do remember that the beverage station is in the Mickey pool area. I sit there a lot drinking coffee :coffee: and it is fun to watch the kids have a good time. It is also a great place to take really wonderful photos because it is a fun place .... please don't report me to the staff.

Honestly, I agree with getting the photos. Here's my "story": DW and I were both in college and living together when we got married. We thought since we had been engaged for 2 years, lets just get married. It doesn't matter how much money we have because we'll be married and that's all that matters....WRONG!! Being married is what matters, but because we were trying to cut corners we hired a photojournalism major to take our pictures. Let's put it this way; she broke 3 DSLR cameras on our wedding day (and no wisecracks on that!) and ended up having to use our bridesmaid's 35mm camera and her shots were NOT that great. Looking back, I wish we would have splurged on photography more than anything else. We even thought about having our vows renewed just to get the photos in our formalwear. You can get a couple's cabana massage on any cruise with a bottle of champagne, but this is going to be the only time in your wedding attire. You'll be glad you have the pictures.

DrHug and Brack have both done wedding photography. I tell you it is highly stressful because, as Rob points out, it can't be redone. I agree with Rob, so much money is spent on weddings, food, cakes, flowers, bands, etc, etc and the absolutely only thing that you have (except for possibly the dress) 20 years later are the photos and that is where alot of folks try to cut expenses.

You're right.... to me 1000$ seems alot for pictures, but in reality many people spend much more. We will just have to do another cruise for our cabana massage!

 Ok, I'm putting DrHug back to work! Brack, you interested in assisting??

Oh yeah! I found out on the DCL intranet that they will not be showing National Treasure 2 (that premiers on the 12/21 cruise) but Enchanted, and Dan in Real Life were both posted.
I don't want to spoil dining rotations for anyone (some people might like the suprise???), but i feel very disapointed to see how its done :sad1:

I would LOVE to know what rotation we have. We have 2 one year olds and an 82 year old and everything in between!

Oh yeah... I'd never wanna live in NoVA. Ugh. The beltway alone is enough to keep me from going up there.

I'm the complete opposite. Moved from MiddleofNowhere, VA to Los Angeles. :headache:

You prefer LA traffic to DC traffic?

That like saying I'll cut my big toe off rather than my thumb! Neither choice is a good one!! :confused3

If it's traffic you want to avoid try Grafton, WV; they have one stop light!

I wish they had special trained dining rotation mice that picked names from a hat! Its divided between families with kids(8pm), families(8:15), and Adults (8:30). I just thought it would be a bit more random. Your are right on the LAPLAPL (for late dining adults). And i thought i found out some sort of secret!

For the attire, all i remember is that we have Formal night the 3rd night.

Is it the same for the main dining? Are we going to have to be earliest dining because we have the babies with us??

pirate: Hi, I'm new to this board, will be crusin on Dec 8. It will be my hubby and I, and 5 children ages 8 - 22. Five of us went for a 4 day last year and had a great time, I can't wait to go again this time with the whole family.

You guys are a wealth of information, thanks!

Welcome! Wow, big family! You will have a ball! And welcome to the DIS also. Great group of people here.:grouphug:

OK, fellow cruisers, I'd love to stay up and chat, but I'm exhausted and falling asleep at my computer. I think I'll call it a night and head for bed!

Beth

hi all. i know i am not as active here as most. its not that i don't want to. you guys are just so fast and my middle aged mind is more like Dory from finding Nemo. I really believe Dory and I are related LOL.

It's official Pal Mickey will be joining me on this cruise. Minnie isn't very pleased but Pal hasn't gone on my last two she did. So Pal is going and excited to show off his Christmas Holiday sweaters <G>

I am looking forward to meeting you all either in the terminal or the first Dis Meet on deck 10 correct? Then of course throughout the cruise.

Good news Pal Mickey is joining us! Sad for Minnie. :sad2:
