I was reading a book called "The Worst Case Scenario" during the downtime. Interesting stuff. Now I know how to fend off a shark while we're snorkeling in St Thomas :thumbsup2

Okay, can you punch them in the nose?

- Jennifer

What's funny is that you'd think when the 'net goes down at 12:30am, a person would go to sleep, right? No... I have to stay up just long enough to make sure it comes back on.... then I can sleep :lmao:

:lmao:

- Jennifer

Omg... I just read back and saw how much Jennifer posted to get to the pirate and now I feel bad. :sad1:

Can I give my pirate: to Jennifer? :flower3:

No! That's the common misconception! The more sensitive areas are the gills or the eyes. Try for those first. If you can't get them, then nose is better than nothing. Basically, anything that shows them you're gonna fight back and not be an easy meal. popcorn::

Did you know you're also not supposed to suck venom from a snake bite anymore either?

And I read how to make a fire in the wilderness. That's one thing I never get with the people who go on Survivor. They know they're going... yet they don't read any kinda survival guide? Wouldn't you pick one up on your way back from the post office dropping off the application just on the off chance that you'd get picked? :confused3

Okay, so hit them in the eyes or gills. That's good to know. I hope I never have to use that knowledge. I had always heard that myth about punching them in the nose. But, didn't know how smart that would be to get your hand that close to the front of their mouth.

:lmao: :rotfl2:

Ok... I'm really gonna sleep now. Now that I know the internet is up and running and the world is safe for another day. ;)

Goodnight!

Sorry, my explorer crashed. I tried to post a message saying yes there are larger bags on Ebags.

Since Jennifer decided to keep the wench, I'll give Julie the pirate. Be back in a sec.

I did hear that about the snake venom. Living in Texas, we have a few poisonous snakes here. :lmao: Out of every creature on earth, I can't stand snakes. They just give me the creeps. :scared:

Wow you night owls were busy... :surfweb: Posting the night away..

Awwww Poor Jasmine... Please tell her I hope she gets better quick :flower3:

We are on the 1st Post dry dock Cruise.. We have a category 4 so I doubt we will get any type of Upgrade.. But we have a connecting room with my MIL, FIL, and Niece (5) so I think that is a Double whammy against us.. Maybe hoping we may possibly get some type of FLorida Resident discount is the Only thing we could do.. :confused3

DS left for school and it is dark out.. :sad2: I hate this time to see him have to go out in the cold :cold: in the dark.. I will pick him up after school at 1:05 pm since I am off from BAB today.. He will drive himself to the Orthodontist for a 2:45pm appointment to fix his broken bottom pallet expander.. Then it is Trick or Treat from 2-8pm.. Guess because it is a school night the town decided to call the Ghosts & Gobblins in early..

Congrats to Julie for her pirate: and Jennifer for her princess: I have some catching up to do.. :rolleyes1

DH is still in bed.. I hope he didn't fall back to sleep... I don't hear any movement upstairs at all yet.. :confused3

Ok well I better get him up and off to work..

I NEED to get the house cleaned BEFORE I get back or else it will just NEVER get done :upsidedow I will Vacuum & Dust and start the Cupcakes and Then come check up on you all.. :woohoo: Because then I'll be able to Dis the afternoon away.. :surfweb: At least til I get DS from school..

Have a wonderful Day :grouphug:

Everyone kept telling me that when they were babies, " you only need one can I have the other" haven't heard that in a long time.... :sad1: :sad1: :sad1: I can't believe my babies are not babies anymore.

Yep, my DD says you'll have to get a new username since your boys aren't infants anymore. ;)

Thank you. I think we all had our share of "accidents" in our school career. She who loves school and wishes she could go 7 days a week was obviously not feeling to well today. There have been reports of a little bug going around. I did a modified BRAT diet when we got home and did a shot of immodium for children.

It was time to change out the spare clothes anyway from shorts and a t-shirt to velour pants and a warm baseball jersey type shirt from BIG DOGS. The paranoid mommy in me went online and got all sorts of scary diagnosis about hurt tum-tums. That was no fun either.

Hope your DD feels better soon! :flower3:

Others on here have transferred their onboard reservations to the site sponsor "Dreams Unlimited". They have rave reviews. So, we plan to use them in the future.

- Jennifer

We've used DU for all but our first cruise. Our local travel agent got the cruise reservation right, but she forgot to put my FIL on the resorts or the transportation. I was able to straighten that out, but never went back to her! We've used Merrie at DU and she's always been great!

When I was younger, my sister and I visited family in San Diego. I was in a dead sleep when I felt my bed shaking a little and then the pictures on the wall were banging a little against the wall. It was a really "mild" earthquake. But, a weird experience and one I still remember to this day. Usually in the movies, things are banging everywhere and chairs and tables are sliding across the floor. But, what I experienced was pretty mild. My Aunt and Uncle didn't even wake up. I guess they were use to it.

- Jennifer

Every now and then we have earthquakes here in NJ. Nothing big, but I can remember the first summer I was married we had a quake that was strong enough that my new dishes fell off of the shelves. Thank goodness we had carpet in that apartment! We lived right along the edge of the Delaware River in the small town of Florence at that time.

:sad2: Our dog refuses to go outside when it is raining. He'll stand there and look at me and then look outside and then back at me again with those puppy-dog eyes. Like I can control the rain to make it stop. He is a weird dog. :rolleyes1

- Jennifer

Our dogs all hate the rain, but love snow! Once they know it's snowing outside, they throw themselves against doors and windows to get outside and play in it.

OK, I'm all caught up! I fell asleep early last night, and had a busy morning this morning. Today was "treatment day" for my DIL. Last month's treatment didn't "hold", so she's trying again this month. If this month doesn't work, she's skipping next month because we'll all be in Florida, and then in January they will try another approach. The way it's being done now doesn't result in "multiples" any more than the natural way would. Of course, if it does work, she'll find out while we're on vacation--that would be really cool! So once again, some prayers and pixie dust would be appreciated!

I suggested to Jim that he might find himself in one of the bars with the rest of the DIS males drinking beer. He's threatening to start a thread for "abandoned DIS husbands on the Dec. 8 cruise".

He's also starting to think about cruising next year. "The kids" want to cruise in the very early spring if the treatment works this month so that they can still cruise before she's 24 weeks. They want to do just a short (probably four night) cruise, and of course we'll have to go with them! We're thinking about a longer cruise in the fall, but that, too, will depend on how things are progressing on the pregnancy front! I'd need to be home when the "big day" approaches.

Wendy, I hope Jasmine is feeling better!

Amber, I hope your DD is feeling better, too!

Everybody needs to start getting healthy!

Beth
