Yes it is at the Pin Trading shop.. and agreed it does make it creepy with THOSE people out there Lurking :scared: I stay clear of them but DH loves to listen to their "logic" on the Value of a $10.95 pin :rotfl2:

I guess I'm confused. :upsidedow Who are these people??? Are they like scalpers trying to sell you pins for a higher price?? Or are they asking you to buy pins for them?? That's weird.

Can he pick me up a chocolate glazed please? :rolleyes1

- Jennifer

Sure!! but, It may be a little stale by the time I can get it to you though ;)

We arrive on the 24th You should really try and stay another day :) Although, we are going right to Dircet Buy to pick up the Sofa, Loveseat and Chase they have waiting for us..

Still no bedroom sets.. :sad2: Looks like it is another weekend on BoxSprings and Mattresses :confused3

Okies.. Toodle Loo.. Im off til tonight..

Basicly.. Yes..

They are called "Sharks" they have a pin that you want.. They paid $10.95 for it However... the "Ebay" Value of this $10.95 pin is about $50.. so they expect and will tell you.. to buy them which 5 pins *$50+ value* they want for the One you want from their book.. Which again.. they paid $10.95 for..

Yea, it's Not a pretty sight

:thumbsup2 We homeschool too! So, school vacation is not an issue this year. We are flexible. But, DS7 was in Public School last year. We took him out for a week for our cruise and received grief from the School District. You will find kids onboard all year round.

:surfweb: If you like to chat, you've come to the right place! :lmao: We are a VERY chatty bunch on here.

We homeschool too and our children ages 10 and 12 will be with us. We will also be on the May repo cruise with the kids - love the flex I have with homeschooling.

Ok stop talking to me... :rotfl2:

You know you're addicted to Dis' when...... you try and leave for a half hour but get too excited because people are still posting and you need to reply before you actually leave....

:rolleyes1

Isn't it nice to not have to worry about when you can go on vacation? We usually plan a trip somewhere the first or second week of September - no matter where we go it is like having the place to ourselves (except Disney of course). But even at WDW, you definitely notice that there are fewer people - we usually walk right on most rides that time of year.

My kids have had trouble with some of the pin sharks at DTD when they first started collecting. Now, we sometimes let them get a table and trade from their books. My boys always bring extras of the hidden mickey pins, since other kids usually collect them - then they try to be easy to trade with, rather than like the other traders who only want people to buy them pins.

We have so much fun pin trading that we try not to let the sharks spoil it for us :cool2:

I hope WDW is slow next September. :woohoo: We already have a WDW trip and cruise planned! Bill (DH) went to WDW for business this past September and kept telling me, "We need to go this time of year!". I hope it stays that way! :rolleyes1

I like the saying in your signature:

"WE ARE HOOKED! SO WE HAVE BOOKED:"
:lmao:

Although, we are going right to Direct Buy to pick up the Sofa, Loveseat and Chase they have waiting for us..

We have a couple of Direct Buy Warehouses in our area. Is it worth the membership fee? We plan to re-do our kitchen next fall. It is so hard to get in there and do the tour. Because they only do them during the week. Also, kids are not allowed. So, that makes it even harder.

Krisann,

I LOVE your signature about this cruise!! That is so amazing that your DH is coming home right before the cruise!! How far before the cruise does he get to come home?? I didn't know if you were going to get to spend any time with him before or not. Please let him know when you talk to him how much we appreciate him!!! :sad1: The job that he and everyone does over there is SO amazing!! Whether I agree or disagree with the idea of us being over there, the one thing that I will NEVER argue, is how special our military is and how hard they work for us!!! He is an amazing person! :yay:

:dance3: The kids must think whoever gets to me first, is not going to be in trouble. DS7 and DD5 just ran in here to tell me what the other just did. I'd better see what they have done. We are leaving bright and early at 4 AM tomorrow morning. :scared1: So, I am logging off for a few days. Everyone have a great weekend and early week. I am sure Bill will be on his phone checking in during our stay at WDW. Until next week. . .

- Jennifer

BTW- :sad2: It doesn't look like driving down to Cape Canaveral on Tuesday is going to fit into our schedule. We may meet back up with our DVC CM to sign paperwork if we do decide to go that route. Oh well. Seeing the launch would have been neat. Maybe next time? When is the next launch?

Whoa! Looks like I stand corrected. Brack, you canceled the Aug canal cruise??? Come in May with us!! :goodvibes

We can't for the same reason as the August one ..... our schedule. :sad2:

One more thing. . .

Rob,

With Bill and I away, I expect you to nab some of those pirates!pirate: GOOD LUCK!:shamrock:

Kids, Not allowed? Really? Ours has a Playroom and were told Kids are welcomed..

Honestly.. In my opinion.. No, Not if you are only doing a Kitchen.. Unless you are completely gutting down to bare walls.. It is more of a Hassle then anything.. Unless yours is different then ours in Policy..

We did a whole house.. Membership fee is about $6,000 for a 3 year membership.. Then you have an option to renew for another year for $2,000 I think.. I'd have to look at our paperwork..

We bought 5 Mattresses, 6 Boxsprings (our king takes 2), 4 Dressers, 4 nightstands, a Kitchen Table & 4 chairs, a Dinning Table and 8 chairs, 2 bar stools for the Kitchen Island, 2 Couches, 2 Loveseats 1, Chase, a Coffee Table w/ 2 End tables.. 5 headboards, 5 footboards, 5 sets of rails and I think that's it so far.. We spent almost $14,000 for it all..

However, we ordered and Paid for in Full all the furniture on July 24th.. It is now what October 19th and we only received the Mattresses, Boxsprings, 2 couches, 2 sofas, 1 chase, the Coffee Table and Endtables.. :confused3

Plus.. we weren't told til the pieces started coming in that you have 5 days to pick it up or the charge you $8 per day per box.. When we get the sofa and stuff Wednesday, we will owe them $144 since we couldn't get an earlier flight for a reasonable price.. :headache:

Oh.. they also Make you decide right there and then if you want the Membership.. They don't want you to go home and Discuss anything with anyone.. You can also ONLY bring your Spouse.. Anyone else you bring in will have to wait in the waiting room..

Then again this is My own personal experience and opinion..

Yes, you can save a bunch of money, aproximately Half the cost, but add in the Membership fees and Hassle and I would of said No... :sad2:

:rotfl2:

That is another Reason while DH & I don't drink very much.. We are on a Ship for a week and sitting at the same table every night with the same people... :rolleyes1 Better safe then sorry

But Yes... I have a bunch od Dis'ers on the list for a Late Night dining Table... so I am guess I would need to Link all our Reservations together.. correct? Anyone? :confused3 Or can we tell them when we get there we awant a Table big enough for all of us? I think he only have 8 people anyway.. I was hoping for a HUGE Dis table so we could dicuss our Daily meet ups for the next day.. But.. I understand we can't do EVERYTHING together :guilty:

You need to get the ressies linked for dining now. They will link hundreds! They will seat you in the same area. We had 40 people or so linked on the 10 day cruise. They seated us at a table for 10, 8, two 6 and a 3 or 4 tables for 4. But we were all within shouting distance of each other and after the first couple of nights there was some table hopping going on. Same thing on the Dec Geek cruise last Dec. Lots of us linked. We filled up two sections, but they put us in adjoining sections. Again table hopping, kids that made friends sat with their friends, etc. Very fun.

It will be our 2nd Disney cruise and we're so excited! We splurged on a Cat 6 for the veranda - don't have a stateroom assigned yet, just GTY.

We are Mom :tink: DH:surfweb: DS(16) :music: DS(13):music: We live in FL and go to WDW quite often - we LOVE pin trading!

I'm going to look over the posts and try to find some other teens - it will be our first time trying the teen events in the Stack.

Our nephew will be 13. His mom is Spoiledbrats3. She has not been able to post lately. Way to much going on in their life, but I know he will be looking for buddies to share fun with. His name is Lucas.

I may try and sneak the kid's lanyards into the suitcase for the weekend trip. They haven't participated in pin trading yet. Just collecting. We are going to the Beach Club Villas. So, I may see if they want to trade with Art, the front door fixture there.

- Jennifer

Your DVC guide should be able to get them some DVC pins that they can use for trading with CMs also. :thumbsup2

Wow, busy day. Fldisfantastic and Joiseymom (did I get that right?) and was there someone else?
:welcome:
:welcome:
:welcome:

Jennifer, there's another launch scheduled for Dec. 6 at 4:30 pm. If it doesn't get bumped. We're arriving in MCO 10 am so I can get there...but if they reschedule a little we'd still be able to see it, on the 7th or the 8th. Much as I don't want to get stressed out by a delay and wondering if it's going to launch, I think it would be a heck of a start to the cruise to watch it from the deck...Hope you guys have a great trip!

We can't for the same reason as the August one ..... our schedule. :sad2:

RATS!! It seems like a nice group going on that one and it would be fun to have you and Annette join in. Oh well, we get to cruise with you for this one! :)
