Yesterday was the funeral of Maria Lauterbach. Has this been a big TV thing in any of your areas? I decided it would be best if we stayed home and out of the way until after the service was over, because this was all going on about 1/2 mile down the street from me. There were 4 protestors from that Kansas church and about 150 counter-protestors. So my idea of protesting the protestors wasn't off the wall. It's just a very sad situation all around. :sad2:

That's a shocking story, Abby... :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

GoDaddy commercials are hilarious. I like the one where the two guys are sitting at their cubicles and it ended that the one said "I already did my mom!" when the girl walks up behind him. :rotfl2: (know which one I'm talking about) I know the one you are probably referring to......the chic at the hearing with the slippage. ;)

Exactly the one ;)

Has anyone seen the Mickey Rooney one for Airborne? He's sitting in a sauna with a bunch of other people, a woman behind him coughs on him, he jumps up, grabs his towel, runs out of the room screaming, and he drops his towel in the doorway so you see his behind? It is so funny! :rotfl2:

Hello FOotball Fans!

Just swinging through to say "hello"... we went up to the snow yesterday - only the 3rd or 4th time I have ever gone sledding - even though I've skiied countless times in the past 4+ decades of my existance.

We had great fun - it felt beautiful like we were in another world with 3-4' of snow up near Gorman Pass (we were at Mt. Pinos). We brought up one of the girls' friends who's from Hawaii and it was only her 2nd time ever in the snow. It was a blast!

Then afterewards, we took our supper at Bucca de Beppo (is that how its' spelled). That was fun too - as we took a nice long time to dine and go back over the pictures and movies we shot during the day.

At any rate - adios fer now. I'll glance backwards through the thread to sort of follow some of the latest news and antics. maybe even post a little more before I move on to other things.

Hope all are doing well...

Cheers!

In our area the health department said flu cases have tripled this year verses last year, so I assume it is that way across the US as well.

According to the CDC (US Center for Disease Control) during week 4 (January 20-26th 2008) every region tracked this season in the USA is at or above the baseline for that region (or the nation). http://www.cdc.gov/flu/weekly/

picurve04.gif

Looking at the chart above you can see how the red line indicating P&I MORTALITY is SPIKING above the seasonal baseline into the epidemic region. Of course, this has happened in past years too as can be seen in the historical data of past years shown. In particular the 2004-2005 flu season.

So it looks like a good time to stay away from anyone coughing near you. :surfweb:

DH is the one adamant that after our doggie dies that we are done. I just play along with him because I know after we lose our dog, it's going to be much harder on us than DH expects. Last year I did volunteer work at our local animal rescue shelter and they had some pretty amazing dogs there. I want to adopt one of the older (2'ish years old or so) dogs. I have already had to give up cats for the man, I'm not giving up dogs too!! :rotfl:

Abby,

We are in a similar circumstance at our home. My spouse grumps about the dog hair = we have a 110+ pound fluffy white Samoyed (sample pix above). We've had this breed in our family for 20++ years now so you'd figure she'd be more tolerant - however Sugar is an extra fluffy one!

My spouse laments that when Sugar moves on (one way or another) we're gonna switch to a non-shedding breed... now... do those exist? < chuckles > :confused3

Morning all.

Worked on the website last night will be emailing it out to you in a few days....

Happy Super Bowl!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Kristen -

- don't miss me on the list! I've been off and on - and mostly busy catching up, sulking while sick or caring for the others in my home who have been out with one "bug" or another - so my absence has more to do with the chaos here than anti-social exercises. As you know - I am a socialable neighbor... :goodvibes

Ed-

How is Caitlin today? What time is your movie?

Her fever is starting to go down, she was well enought to see the Hanna Montana movie. Our showing was at 3 and we just got back,

Thanks for asking.

What a great looking dog

Just got back in time for the start of the game.... had to pick up a bunch of last minute stuff....

Jake had his first indoor game of the season today. I ended up coaching the team today, too - a 6-6 tie (more goals are scored in the indoor game)- Jake had 2 goals and an assist (he also played a bit in goal as well).

I coach several different teams and I usually take the indoor, winter season off to relax. Coaching, while fun at times, takes a certain toll - trust me. At the beginning of this past season I told my wife I wasn't sure my heart was in it this year and really had to dig deeper to get up the energy (we ended up undefeated and tourney champs). So..... expecting to watch today I get a call 30 minutes before the game.... the coach as a "PT appt" and can't make the game -- ON A SUNDAY?!?! I was pissed! I ran out and met the team 30 minutes before the game... kids I've never met.... I wasn't happy....

All ended well.... still very tough to coach a team you've just met! And, very importantly, they all had fun!

Honey I'm home!!! My DH and I are watching the Superbowl- well I'm just watching the commercials. We were soooo busy this weekend- we didn't want to do any more parties. I liked the dancing lizards- flavored life water. It was funny- Jordan loved that.:goodvibes
