Just back from the beach and was wondering if anyone has received their DOCS ?? Just got through reading all the posts from last week.

Clueless San Fran... That's great that you want to do Pompeii with us ! Glad to see we'll have some boys on the excursion ! My Grandson is 11. Also, thanks for the taxi and train info for Naples. Hopefully, everything will go smooth with no strikes.

pclare.... That's great that you are also interested in the train trip to Pompeii. How much does your daughter charge for the guided tour ??

Bruce,Jack and I will either take the train back to Naples after our tour of Pompeii or take the train to Sorrento and take the hydrofoil back. It's very tempting to go back to the ship and relax by the pool !!

Pauline, here is the listing that Gina put together for our Pompeii group. I will double check the past posts for time, I think it was 8 or 8:30 meeting time to head out to the train. Gina had mentioned setting the meeting place at our Dis meeting on embark day.

Also, I will put together the Pisa group interested in taking the train together from our group.

Dollar Tree has the magnetic locker pockets in a couple of different sizes. They also have lightweight magnetic white boards for your stateroom door.

Both items were in the back-to-school section.

I began my packing today...non-clothing items. Was wondering about shorts. I plan to wear capris most days in port. Are any of you wearing shorts?If so, which ports ? Do you think I'd be ok wearing shorts in Barcelona if I weren't going in any churches ? Seems like I read somewhere that Europeans don't wear shorts that much except to the beach ??

Donna, If you need people to pass out gifts at the end of the cruise we could do it on Villefrance day instead of Naples. Whichever is fine with me.My gift is more of a cruise "memory" gift.

Yes, we will be at the DIS meet. As of today, we have not received our cruise documents yet by mail.

We are so excited about the trip. We have watched every relevant Samantha Brown - Passport to Europe episode on the Travel Channel.
AND, we have been going through Anne Vipond's Med by Cruise Ship, 2007 edition.

Cinderella1001 - Thank you so much for the movie list. I look forward to seeing Ratatouille again, I saw it opening weekend and loved it. I thought they were supposed to be all first run movies, so I am kind of surprised at some of the older ones. Not complaining though - it's so much fun to see any movie on the big screen with popcorn, and there are a couple (like Wild Hogs) that I have not seen yet.

James - we are also just kids trapped in these adult bodies. Although the decor in our newest home is a bit grown up, you would have thought our past three homes were decorated by a little kid - Disney, Muppets and Simpsons items everywhere! OMG - have a great time at DL. We are fortunate enough to go to DL/CA twice a year (Xmas time being the most important time because of the Haunted Mansion Holiday & It's a Small World transformations). My mother is retired and lives in Las Vegas, so it's just a "quick" four hour drive each way for a mini-vacation!

Woo-hoo, three weeks left!!!

We have early seating and have two rooms on the 6th floor.
We have two private tours in Naples and Rome but looking to see if there is one for Florence/Pisa. (Let me know if anyone has a recommendation as we are currently booked on the DCL tour). This is our first cruise so we are very excited. I am learning so much from the DISBoard. We are arriving in Barcelon on Aug 5 and staying at an apartment in Las Rambles. We do not have any Palo reservations but hoping to get some.

We are definitely ready for this. To top it off, I start a new job, within my company, on August 1 and then leave for two weeks on August 4. I let them know when I accepted the job and they asked if I could change the dates. I said NO WAY. They ended up being OK with it.

I am glad that you are able to have your rooms switched. One of your rooms, 2066 is very close to us. We are all looking to meet each other soon. We came back from a Princess Cruise last April and our room was on the top deck foward which was absolutely gorgeous with the view. But on the last night back to the U.S. from Mexico the sea was so rough that things were falling of the shelves in the cabin. The higher cabins in the foward deck were hit the hardest so we begged for the lower deck right smack in the middle. I hope we don't have to revisit rough seas again on our trip.

WOW, your first cruise ! How exciting !! This isn't our first cruise, but it's our first time in the Mediterranean. And I'm SO excited ! Our soon-to-be 11 yr old Grandson ,Jack, will be with us. He'll be glad there's another boy onboard ! I hope you'll be at our DIS Meet so we can meet. We have 2 private tours lined up for Rome and Marseilles ( St Remy, Les Baux, Aix ).We cancelled the one in Florence because our son said it's very easy to get around. So we are doing the DCL Florence on Your Own. We went online and got tickets to see David.We also plan on seeing the Duomo,the Baptistry,St Croce church, the Medici Chapel, grab a bite of pizza and shop at the San Lorenzo market.

How is everybody getting to the hotel in Barcelona from the airport ?

I emailed Barcelonataxi 3 days ago, but haven't heard back

We leave in 17 days !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GINA

Yes, there is now internet access in the staterooms.
Childcare: Does it seem just as good as in circa the US?

Seatings: Do they still do that ridiculous Staggering of Times still? or have they given it up?
For the Med cruises they are not doing staggered dining times.
