08/08/07 Well, Olbia Monkey's Uncle! We're cruisin' on the 10nt Med Cruise!

Wow! Great minds think alike!

I forget, do you have any kids coming with you?

We will have DD(9) and DS(12) with us.

sharonrs50 - Day 2
Palo Brunch
Palo High tea

Are you really going to try to do brunch and high tea on the same day?
Have you been to both? I wouldn't suggest it.

UMTerp

I would second this -- by the time you finish with Palo brunch you will be stuffed and yet it would only be a short time before the high tea . . . see if you can get one of them switched to the other sea day (if you're not able to do it online, go to Palo when you get on the ship and I'm sure they will accommodate you).

We have no children going with us. We just love Disney. It is just my husband, my friend and I. Every day that we get closer I get more and more excited. I can't believe we are really doing this. It is going to be the vacation of a lifetime no matter what we do. I can't wait!!!:cloud9:

Has anyone set up a meeting place and time for us to see eachother? Since we have been planning this together for so long it would be nice to meet everyone on the ship. My thought were that maybe we could meet at the family pool the 1st day since we are at sea. Just a thought. What does everyone else think?

UMTerp & Julie:

Thanks for your feedback. I was wondering about scheduling the high tea and brunch so close together myself. I was concerned that if I tried to reschedule, I would lose the reservations. Is there a way I can try to reschedule without giving up my reservation?

If I have to give one up, which one would that be? Is the brunch or tea better?

Also, I want to meet my fellow DISers on the ship, and thought the tea on the second sea day might conflict with whatever will be planned. What time are these get-togethers usually planned for?

Thanks,

Sharon

That sounds good to me. Maybe near the pizza place? What time is good for everyone?

I would give up the high tea. Brunch is much better!!! I didn't even book high tea this trip.

UMTerp

I have no activites planned for that 1st day at sea. I just wanted to hang out and relax before all that sightseeing:sail:

Sharon, I agree with UMTerp. Don't miss the brunch...best meal on the ship ...go hungry ! I didn't even try to book the tea.

I would love to meet my fellow DISers too. Looks like I'll be on afew tours with some of you...Palermo for Kids , Olbia- La Cinta beach, and Cannes,Grasse, St Paul..

It'll be fun reading the trip reports from the early Med cruisers !! :surfweb:

Bought a pair of TEVA sandals and a white pr of capris. I think I'll be living in capris the whole cruise. Hope I can wear them to dinner. I'm short so they come down pretty far on me.

Once we get to June ,time will fly..... :yay: GINA

Gina - thanks for your reply. Well, that makes my decision easy there is a consensus that the brunch is the best.

I think white capris will be just fine for dinner. I have short legs, and wear capris a lot also.

I think UMTerp's idea of meeting by the pool or pizza place sounds good. Maybe we can choose an alternate spot in case of bad weather, like down by route 66 somewhere. Does the Magic have a route 66? How about late morning or early afternoon? If we don't meet ahead of time, how we will recognize each other on the tours?

Gina - we are on the Cannes, Grass & St. Paul tour with you.

Sharon

I agree we should have a meet and greet the first day at sea, but the family pool gets awful crowded on sea days. I am willing to meet anywhere the rest of you are comfortable with. On a few of my cruises in the past we have met on deck 10 just above the family pool and it has worked out well. We do have brunch at 10:30 the first sea day, so I would suggest early afernoon.

Our Plans:
Day 2 at sea - Palo brunch for all 4 of us
Day 3 Palermo - Donna and Joi- Erice and Segesta, Alessa and Grandma - Village of Cefalu and Marionette Show
Day 4 Naples - Timeless Pompei and the Flavor of Sorrento for all of us
Day 5 Olbia - no plans
Day 6 -Rome - Highlights of Rome and Vatican Museums for all of us
Day 7 - La Spezia - Pisa for all of us
Day 8 - Marseille - Marseille and the Historic Santons Figurines for all of us
explore on our own in the afternoon and Palo dinner that night
Day 9 -Villefranche - Highlights of Monaco and Monte carlo including the Grand Casino
Day 10- At sea - Palo High Tea

What about meeting around 1pm on our first day ? Brunch should be over and most will have had lunch. And we can put names with faces before everyone's off and running ( or napping ) for the afternoon ;) !

Sharon...I'm looking forward to seeing you and your family on the St Paul tour. I have read more positve comments about that place than anywhere else. We almost didn't book anything for Villefrance since it's easy to get around. But I know it's not that easy to get to St Paul on your own. Just hope my Grandson won't be too bored. I guess he can bring his PSP game

Those ideas sound good to me.

Gina - my son is not very happy with the perfume part of the tour. Maybe your grandson and my son, despite their age difference, will have fun together.

Jack ,I'm sure, will be happy to hear he's not alone at the perfume factory :rotfl:

I have the 11:30 seating for brunch on the first sea day . . . should be finished between 1 and 1:30, but will be happy to meet everyone as soon as I can get there!

Ok for us, but maybe 1 PM is a bit early ?? Should 1:30 be a bit more comfortable ??

Hi ! Happy Mother's Day ! 1:30 will be fine !

Is anyone going on the Spanish Village DCL tour the day of embarkation ? Gina

I'm sure I could be there for 1:30 -- also anyone not having Palo brunch will have plenty of time to have lunch before we meet. Did we decide on a place?

Port side, Deck 10, 1:30 pm.....:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: GINA

I will add this to the post listing who is cruising. I agree we need a backup plan in case of rain and think the suggestion of Promenade Lounge is a great one. I will add that as well.

Gina- We are doing the Spanish Village on our own while in Barcelona.

Happy Mother's Day!
