07 into 08 reservation

This stinks!

I have a reservation from Dec. 29 to Jan. 6. I was really hoping that with the new system, my rate would automatically change from Holiday rate to Value rate on January 1. Of course it didn't! I was hoping to avoid making to ressies. Oh well.

I bet if Dec. 29 - Dec 30 were Value season and Jan 1 started Holiday with a higher rater, then the new system would recognize it and make the change.

I just needed to vent. Thanks.

I noticed that too, I will be there at the same time as you. I decided to do a split stay to get the value season. This was before the rates had changed. Since part of the ressie is booked in 2007, the rates more than likely are the ones that are going to be implemented. I thought, just maybe, it would change. I am glad we can make two reservations. I really want my first value season, I usually book at peak season. I just hope people are checking their reservations and not thinking the new price structure is going to take place. I also hope they know they can make 2 reservations, something I did not know until I started reading the boards.

Wow. I assumed that you would be assessed the holiday rate from 12/29 through 12/31 then the Value rate for the remainder of your stay. Of course, i guess that would be too easy and convenient for the guest.

This is the answer in a nutshell.

Any reservation that begins December 31st, 2007 or earlier would continue at holiday rates for the maximum duration of the single reservation; unless you booked it as two reservations to take advantage of the lower rates.

I figured this was going to happen, but I was hoping that since the new system starts with dates at Jan 1, that my rate would change automatically. It was wishful thinking.

At least next year that will be the case.
