07/22/2006 - The Oh-Seven Double-Deuce Double Dip Desperados!

Wow, great tips, everyone. Big-time THANK YOU. :grouphug:

DW got me a some shirts for the cruise that can also be used for casual work shirts for Father's Day. It was quite the banner day for me, wardrobe-wise.

Hope all the other dads out there had a great day....and Moms and kids, too.

Now, if my everything goes to plan this week, I can start working on that bag.... :smooth:

I love the whole crayola magic line!!!! Thank you for the tip about the hotwheels. We didn't need those for DD, and I hadn't thought about the roll away factor. Thank you...and I'm sure I can say "thank you" on behalf of all the people we will be sitting next too. Also love the playdoh idea. Can't wait to use that one.

Ahh the joys of Monday...

Woke up this morning to hear DH yelling at our daschund for going potty on the carpet.....OH NO....wish it was that easy....

Our 55 gallon fish tank in the living room sprung a leak. Water water everywhere, and no cruise ship in sight.....Save the fish.....we have Nemo's and a Dory and various other fishies in coolers and large tote bins in the kitchen, along with live rock..

So now the tank is being resealed, and I am trying to dry out the carpet...and the cats seems awfully hungry pacing around the coolers... :rotfl2:

Anyway, found some cute pirate stuff in the Oriental Trading catalog...even little pirate rubber duckies... pirate:

Back to the carpet.....

monday is horrible for me too so far.

my lab is 90 degrees, it's horrible. everyone who walks by is like, man, it's like a sauna in here. :beach:

I know our pool can't fill up fast enough.

Sorry everyone had such a bad Monday. Here's some good news though. From reading other posts it looks as though The Flying Dutchman ship used in POC II will be at CC when we are there! :sunny:

Thanks.....well the tank is resealed, and the carpet is drying....fish are still in the coolers though.....

I think I may be the only one who has not seen the first POC movie....but I am hoping above hopes the ship is still there, how cool would that be...

A rocket launch, the POC II ship and 2 stops at CC....how great is this vacation going to be? Oh and of course getting to meet all you wonderful DIS'ers... :grouphug:

Lets hope everyones Tuesday is better!!!! pixiedust: pixiedust:

:confused3
Boy, I thought I was the only one having a bad day. My shower is leaking into my family room below, my computer at work was on the fritz and now my home computer has a virus and they said the only thing I could do was to totally restore it. Unfortunately, I never backed up anything. All my pictures, all my emails I saved and need, will be gone. I'm still trying everything I can to get it up just long enough for me to back up. Must be a full moon! I borrowed my sons laptop for a few minutes. Here he comes, gotta go.... 7/22 get here quick!

Hello everyone!!! So excited...we fly out one month from today. Going a few days early in order to be able to use our miles. Sorry everyone had a bad Monday. Tomorrow will be my "Monday". I have to say good-bye to my Dad in the morning. His health isn't that great, and he is moving back home to North Carolina. Very Sad. Hard to say good-bye.

Well I hope everyone has a better Tuesday. Quick question....I keep reading about a "pirate night"....is this something that everyone gets dressed up as pirates or what exactly? pirate: We were pirates last year for Halloween, so didn't know if I should dig out the costumes.

he is moving back home to North Carolina....

Where in NC is he going back to?? We are here in Goldsboro, stationed at the Air Force base...I hope he has a safe trip...

We're not really dressing up for pirate night. I did make our group some special t-shirts to wear, and we are all going to wear black pants...I have been finding some cute pirate stuff at Michaels, and online at Oriental Trading. And I made some special door signs...

Speaking of door signs....I did find magnetic paper at Walmart. It is really nice and was very easy to use. Printed out our signs in a instant.

Well, lets hope for a better week for all of us... :cheer2:

Bethipooh,
I just picked up some of that paper at walmart too. DH is convinced it will jam our printer. I guess I need to actually make some signs and try it out. Did you put your first and last names on the door signs or just your room #? I was going to put our first and last names (our kids love to see their names), but on another thread a couple of people said it was a security risk. What does everyone think? At a hotel I would never do it, but a boat isn't open to the public so I thought it might be ok. BTW we are the 1st cabin after the elevator so everyone will walk by it.

How are your fish? We used to have a saltwater tank, made DH switch to fresh. I couldn't handle losing a $20 fish every couple of months.

Many I am sure have seen this already, just in case will post here.

Very good news for us in July going twice to CC to get a good view of it.

Disney News release:

Pirate Ghost Ship to Land at Disney's Castaway Cay

CELEBRATION, Fla. -- A mysterious pirate ship is landing at Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, in time to provide July's Disney Cruise Line guests with a swashbuckling photo opportunity and a sneak peek into movie-making magic. The ship is The Flying Dutchman, a 175-foot ghost ship which makes its silver-screen debut on July 7 in "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest."

The Flying Dutchman's commander is the legendary Davy Jones, who serves as nemesis to the infamous pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow, in the upcoming film.

The intricate film prop is unlike any other pirate ship -- with ragged sails and a barnacle-encrusted bow, the ship looks like it was raised off the ocean floor to haunt the open seas for eternity. The Flying Dutchman will provide a scenic photo backdrop, and guests renting boats on the island will be able to get an up-close look at the ghost ship.

Disney Cruise Line will also hold a PremEAR at Sea of "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" in the Walt Disney Theatre of both Disney Magic and Disney Wonder. On Friday, July 7, guests aboard Disney Cruise Line will receive commemorative buttons and pirate-themed temporary tattoos, and will be invited to view the premiere of the film at 12:01 a.m.

To learn more about Disney Cruise Line or to book a vacation, guests can contact their travel agent, visit disneycruise.com or call Disney Cruise Line at 888/DCL-2500. Travel agents can call Disney Cruise Line at 888/325-2500 or visit disneytravelagents.com.

do you just run the magnetic paper through like normal paper? or did you change something on the printer....I'm a little worried about jamming the printer too.....

I was too..you only put 1 sheet in at a time, and it worked PERFECT...
We have a HP inkjet printer, and it had given me some issues in the past using the fabric iron on sheets for our shirts..but I had no problem at all using the magnetic paper. And I didn't have to change a thing on the printer settings, I just used the normal setting....

I only put my DIS name on our door sign...however in the past i have put all our names...BUT I did go to the craft store this weekend(someone keep me out of there) and found pre cut Mickey heads in the scrapbook section..so I am going to make them into magnets and put our names on them. I guess I tend to let my guard down a little name wise for everyone to see when we are on the Disney cruise. DS(9) is never without us, plus his name is on his wristband, so why not on our door...

Our pirate night door sign has our pirate names on it from the questionaire we did a while back.

On another note...GO HURRICANES!!!!!!!

i was watching last night. they used to be the team in hartford. i was rooting for them.

my boyfriend is a hockey nut (his favorite team is the bruins). he recently started playing goalie again. i have to smell that gross sweaty equipment every weekend. yuck.

My first post to this site - couldn't help but share in everyone's enthusiasm!!! DH, DD and I will be on the 8/19 CC cruise and we can't wait!!! Well, DH and I can't wait: DD doesn't know yet (she thinks we're only going NEXT year)! Her birhthday is in July so as her present, she will be opening a box chock-full of cruising goods (Character bathing suits, snorkel stuff, a couple of gowns, etc) - and at the bottom I will put a mock-up of our ticket - we'll see how long it takes her to figure out that it will only be 3 weeks away!!!

Second Cruise in less than 2 months!!!! YEAH!!!!

How are your fish? We used to have a saltwater tank, made DH switch to fresh. I couldn't handle losing a $20 fish every couple of months.

Fish are doing as good as can be expected....they are alive...lol

we put them in a emergency 10 gallon tank so they had light and heat...they are cramped, but swimming....

It took us awhile to get over the sticker shock of the cost of saltwater fish, and then having them die.....but after 3 years we have learned how to run a saltwater tank...we actually have 2 now, the one that leaked, and another 60 gallon in the hallway....DH is suppose to pick up a divider,so we can get them into something bigger while we wait for the new sealant to dry.

All I can think is I am glad it happend now, not while we were away.

Dh and I both love hockey, we are both originally from the Philly area, and grew up with the Flyers....now we live about a hour from Raleigh, and actually went to the first round of the playoffs....

we found this growing in our lab today.
