06/29-07/04 bday @ CSR w/DDP Pre-trip Report

DH and I have taken an afternoon to just see resorts. Glad I did too cause I don't like the Poly at all!! I was thinking bout staying there too. The contemporary isn't very themed in my opinion but after being there a few times (for boat cruise, dinner, shopping, etc), it's grown on me. Hopefully I'll have enough pics to share in my completed trip report to convince you that CSR is better than CBR . After reading on all of the mods, and staying at POFQ, I def prefer CSR.
Also, have you ever considered becoming a dvc member? the membership has saved us a ton of money!! even when paying the monthly bill and annual dues! the dvc AP discount can't be beat!!

I wish we could do DVC...but I honestly don't think we could ever afford it! DH started listening to a lecture from someone at AK last year and I had to pull him away because he doesn't know how to say no! Like the time he had a Kirby man come over to give a demonstration on the vaccum cleaner...next thing I know he's writing a check to the man. Pretty sure we don't need a thousand plus dollar vaccum for the 2 rooms in our house that have carpet! If you don't mind me asking...what is the monthly payment and annual dues?

DH started listening to a lecture from someone at AK last year and I had to pull him away because he doesn't know how to say no! Like the time he had a Kirby man come over to give a demonstration on the vaccum cleaner...next thing I know he's writing a check to the man. Pretty sure we don't need a thousand plus dollar vaccum for the 2 rooms in our house that have carpet! If you don't mind me asking...what is the monthly payment and annual dues?

The monthly payment depends on how many points you buy, how much per point, and annual dues are based on which resort you buy into.

we started out with 200 points...at $94 per point (I think). We pay our annual dues once per year and they are usually around $800-$900. Our dvc payment for 200 points was $234 a month for 10 years. Good thing about financing thru disney is that the contract doesn't show up on your credit (as long as your payments are on time). The contract is usually good for 50 years. We added on 100 points in feb '09 cause we find ourselves always borrowing points from the next year and/or paying cash for rooms (like we are doing in june).
The minimum buy-in is 160 points (I believe) and right now they are offering certain incentives...don't know the particulars on those either.

I would've stayed at dvc and used points in june but the 100 points we added on was for BLT and I can't use the BLT points until after Aug 4th (when BLT opens).

Where have you been all my life? I think we are going to meet with someone when we are down there either in a few weeks or in December when we have a little more time! My DH might not be a big fan of you selling all this stuff to me! You should work for Disney!

I've been told that a few times!
DVCMike has like 1200 points I think!!! He would know any and everything there is to know about DVC membership! He probably knows more than the DVC guides!
I was thinking, gosh, too bad him and I are both married!

My lil yeti is NOT wearing a women's size 5 shoe! She is wearing a women's size 6 in a tennis shoe and a size 7 in old navy flip flops!!!

poor kid is going to be as tall as me!!!

Ok, I just did the online check-in for the resort!!!

The check-in consisted of:
a phone number where I can be reached
a credit card for incidentals and purchases (already there)
what time we would be arriving
what time we would be departing

I was able to enter in the celebration of our vacation and I didn't see the request I made for a renovated room. I will keep my 2 viewers up-to-date with info on this online check-in process and if it's worth doing or not. Of course I will also keep you guys posted on if we get our renovated room or not with LOOOOTS of pics!!!

I am going to place a phone call to CSR and make sure they 1) have my reservation and 2) request a renovated room...again

I am excited for you also!! When we go together in July, you are going to have to throw that commando itinerary out the window!! We are going to take it slooooow like Don We will have to step it though when it is time to ride TOT!! I only have 19 days left for my second trip to Disney this year for a total of 3 1/2 weeks!! woohoo!! I work at the same place Kindra does and everyone gets sick of us talking Disney all the time!! I will have to do a post trip report after we get back with them and tell you all how excited she was!! This is our 16th time going since 2001 but the first time with Kindra and Don, it will be an awesome trip!!

Zumba was AMAZING!! I absolutely LOVE it!! BFF and I were supposed to go earlier this evening but it got cancelled. I did drag my lazy butt up on the treadmill for 20 mins tho...btw, just ruined it with some ihop!!
I'm supposed to be back for zumba in the morn (5 hours from now) but another gf of mine talked me into going to see her husband's band play. Their band is awesome and after a few dirty martinis, 8am Zumba flew out the window! HEEEELLLLOOOO ihop!!! I did dance to a few of their songs though!! (80's band...gotta love it!! )


After I did the online check in today, I really started getting crazy psyched!! it's like everything is becoming more real...it's sinking in that in just over a week, I'll be at my favorite place on earth!!

About DH, last night I started asking him if he was sure about where he wanted to eat for our only TS. I started bringing up some of our other favorites. I said "how bout Yak & Yeti?" and he was like "oooohhhh!" then I said, "OH OH!!! What about 50's???" and he was like "oooohhhh" then I was like, how bout we just do 'em all!?! He started grinning ear to ear and said "I love you baby!" (awwwww ) He's such a sap!!

First off, JOE, now that Don will have someone to lay around with, I can do my world touring with Ramiah!! At least the 8 year old can hang with mommy!!

i found out that they are playing on the island in Oct!!! you HAVE to come for the whole weekend with us!!! i'm sure gabriella will appreciate having a quiet house after wes' show

Joe, you can have the credit ....even though we DID stay a POFQ last July and didn't I plan the entire trip while sitting next to you in your pulpit?? AHEM (clearing my throat)!
This will be our 7th trip to the world and our FIRST time staying at CSR.
You know all that karate chopping stuff and you got too many swords...so the credit is all yours!
