06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

I thought the Radisson has a shuttle to the pier??? Anyone know?

Also has anyone heard how the disney snorkel tour in CM is?
We have Palo dinner ressies for Wed night, thinking that pirate night would be on Tues, now we'll have to change them on board! (Hopefully)

Cozumel? Any Paradise or San Fransico Beach goers?
Thanks Lori!! :Pinkbounc
Wendy :)

The Radisson does have a shuttle to the port. You need to call now and reserve your time slot. We are on the 10:00 shuttle
Off to bed now as I have to go in and do report cards tomorrow and clean my classroom :scared1:

We also have Wednesday Palo reservations. We thought our teens were on the Teen Catamaran Cruise, but they canceled it because of the earlier departure. We may just try and move them later, so can spend the first hour of early dining with the kids, and then go to Palo. We should still be done by the time the Pirates party starts. We have seen it all several times before, and it wouldn't be a big deal for us to miss it. Actually, the kids are thinking it would be fun to dine without mom and dad and perhaps invite a friend or two to eat with them.

Wendy, hopefully someone on the first double dip will take the snorkel tour and you will be able to get a good answer. I checked Cruise Critic before and the reviews of snorkeling @ CM in general were not good. Lots of complaints of only seeing a few fish, and that it was a struggle to not scrape against the coral. Other reviews I found via google gave a few areas where snorkeling is supposed to be fantastic. :confused3

Wendy, per my Passporters book you can rent snorkel equipment at CC for $25/adult and $10/kids 5-9 and snorkel in a special snorkeling lagoon. You can also bring your own equipment and snorkel in the regular lagoon. There is also a Seahorse Catamaran Snorkel Adventure ($52 adults, $30 kids), but that only rated 4 out of 10.

I have read good things about Castaway Ray's Stingray Adventure on the boards, and it shows a rating of 9 out of 10. $35 adult, $29 kids.

You can try searching the threads and see what you can find.

Thanks for the info on CC stingray excursion! I have that booked for me on the 1st stop, DH and I are going parasailing on the 2nd stop.

Wow, I haven't been around for a couple of days and I feel like I missed alot. Everybody has been very busy! I still feel like I have a lot to do. Oh well, I work better under pressure so the closer to the cruise we get, the faster I move.

We're keeping very busy here. My DH's boss now knows that my DH is leaving his practice. This alleviates some of the pressure he has been under. Now he doesn't have to worry about keeping his new practice a secret. We could sure use this vacation!

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We'll soon be at 100 pages!

Good night!

I think someone already asked this question. My DH is thinking about renting the tux. How many are thinking or will be renting tux on cruise? I think he is worried he will be the only one????

We just got back from small break. We went to Williamsburg for the long weekend. It was a nice break, but guess what I did all weekend....Yes I was thinking about the cruise. I talked the whole time about packing for the cruise and buying for the cruise. By the end of the weekend my DH was tired of the cruise talk...hehehe :rotfl2:

I have to pull my self together. how many working days???19?? :cloud9:

He WON'T be the only one, many many people will be wearing tuxes.

I rented a tux the first two times on the Magic, but the last time I just brought a suit and wore it for both the Formal and Semi-Formal night. I will be bringing a dark suit as well for this cruise too.

Make sure you try it on FIRST THING when you get to your room (it should be hanging there). My sleeves were 6 inches too long! We called the tailor (on board) and he came to the room, re-measured, and I had it back in time, but I saw a few who waited until the day of the Formal dinner, and their tuxes did not fit properly.

Minnie - My DH will be wearing a tux too. Tell your DH not to worry. Think about the great pictures you will get!

I am so glad you sent this out. I called them a while ago about the shuttle and they said you couldn't get a time slot until the day before or after you check in. I just called and got on the 10:00 shuttle as well. Did they give you a confirmation number? I didn't get one and wanted to make sure I shouldn't have expected one. The time is just flying and I feel like I have a lot to do. AAAHHHHH!!!! :faint:

(Deep breaths.....) Ok, I feel better now.

Susan

I am also on the 10:00 am shuttle from the Radisson. It did seem wierd to me that all they asked for was my name and not how many people were in my group or my hotel confirmation number! I am going to call right now and verify I am on that shuttle!!!! I guess there will be an unplanned DIS meet on the shuttle as well!

I will also be wearing a tux on formal night.....I will be bringing my own! If you really shop around you can get one for the same price it is costing to rent on on the cruise!

Happy Tuesday!

Oh good, I can do some more shopping for lime green wear!!! Always up for another shopping trip! :rotfl:

Charla, I booked car rental through Budget as well. My only question is how to get to the Budget place after getting off the ship. Will they have a shuttle there? do I need to take a cab? Have you done the car rental thing in the past?

We just got our room assignment! Do they ever upgrade at the time of check-in? I'm pretty excited about our room assignment, I thought I'd just check to see if anyone ever gets upgraded! :teeth:

One more question, where do you find the ratings for the excursions. I signed up for the catamaran, snorkel sail thing. Someone mentioned it only got rated 4 out of 10 stars. We had wanted to do the stingray thing, but it looked to be booked. Am I missing the boat (no pun intended!)?!!?

Hurray! We're getting so close!
Meg

Hi Meg,

I just booked Budget today and we used them on our cruise 2 years ago. When we got off the boat we went to a part of the parking lot where car rental agencies pick up their customers and take them to their location. There was a line for Budget and they came and got us. They know when people get off the boat so we didn't need to call. It never hurts to have their number for the local office handy. They brought us to the boat when we arrived and told them we had reservations when we get back. They knew we needed to be picked up. We'll be doing the same thing this time. The vans hold several people and keep going back and forth.

40Mom- I have never heard of that happening before, however DCL generally calls in advance. With such a demand for this cruise and Disney cruises in general, I just don't know what will happen. :confused3 I hope you get lucky and get an upgrade. :thumbsup2 Here is a post about our upgrade on or last cruise. We posted this toward the begining of this thread.
Upgrade!
We have always been on deck 6 midship and loved our stateroom with verandah. Last Cruise (May 2004) we were called (3-4 weeks before the cruise) and asked if we would like to upgrade to a cat 4 (Deck 8 Aft), we were leary about the change, but decided if it is called an "upgrade" it would be a better room. We decided to take the upgrade and were very dissapointed! The room was a little larger, but the room and hall were always hot since we were so close to the stairs that led to the outside on deck 9. We also didn't like being so far back in the ship, we felt a lot more vibration. Our recommedation is to consider the differences in the staterooms. If you are getting upgraded to a room with a verandah instead of an inside stateroom and its something you'd like to try, Take It! But if you're partial to the room you know you enjoy, don't change.

Hi everyone,
I have been lurking on the disboards for years now, but have never registered. I registered today, so I could post to you all. I graduated from college 30 years ago (no old jokes!) and my college roomie and I are going on this cruise as a reunion. We are bringing no husbands or family. We both teach school. I teach in Indiana and she teaches in DC area. We are flying down the day of our cruise EARLY in the morning. We want to meet all of you, so we can go to the beach at Majahaul in Costa Maya. We will safer going with all of you, instead of 2 gals on our own. We have the Fury Catamaran excursion booked for Cozumel. We will be looking for you on deck 10, port side, wearing lime green at 4:30pm. I can't wait to come and especially to meet all of you face to face.

:welcome: Welcome Aboard :sail: -dipdotdarin'- :welcome:

Fury Catamaran on Coz. Us Too! This is going to be a wonderful cruise! Glad you could join us. See you on the deck! :wave2:
