06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

We won't be at WDW before. We are going down on Friday and staying at the Radisson near the port. We have done this for our other Disney cruises and found it worked out great for us.

I had asked about the David and Ivan tours. I read a lot about them on another board and they sound great. Just can't get my family to decide.

Beth A- Hi! We are staying at the Radisson the night before and so is Carole88. My DD(10) and hers are going to try to meet up at the pool that evening or afternoon. We are traveling with a friend who has a DS(10) I can ask her if he would like an e-mail pen-pal. My DD(10) would also e-mail him if he wouldn't mind having a new friend that is a girl  We are not doing Palo's as I like to have dinner each night with DD ( eventually, I know she will not want to be with Mom each night, so I take advantage of it now!) We are doing the ruins tour (through DCL) at CM and hope to do the sea lion/dolphin swim at Coz.

Has been a long time since my last post. My dad had a serious mediacla problem and we were not sure if we were going to make the cruise, but he is doing better. Today we paid off our cruise!!!

My DSs , 6 & 9, are excited and are looking forward to CC. We were there last summer and they keep talking about snorkeling. Not sure what excurisions we plan to do on Coz or CM.

We are not doing Palo this trip, but hoping to book a brunch for my parents.

Welcome back Jeff :wave2: . So good to see you back and glad to hear your Dad will be okay. Congrats on paying off the trip!

When we get closer :teeth: we can post a list of dis meets, a list of those who want to hook up for Maj beach, how to pick up your green mickey head. I guess you could always cut out a mickey head and color it with a lime green pen. Mickey's ears are about the size of quarters.

I'm with Jill at WDW before. Anyone else, Jeff were you heading there too?

BTW Jeff, glad everything has worked out and your Dad is feeling better. Yahoo on the paid off cruise.

Beth, can you tell me about the Radisson, we've always stayed at the Hyatt at the airport the night before. Does the Radisson have a shuttle to the ship?
Thanks
Wendy :)

We enjoyed the Radisson. They have a great pool, tennis courts, decent restaurant--we have also tried both places adjacent to them. The shuttle is free and you can sign up at the desk for the time you want. Some people complained of the rooms being dirty, but we never had that problem. Any other questions?

We're going to be at WDW for a couple days before the cruise....arriving Thurs., 6/22 and staying at Beach Club Villas. I remember there were a few other people planning to stay there, but I don't remember who anymore, and I didn't look through all 40+ pages to find out! We have 3 kids: DS-13, DD-9, and DS-6.

Linda

Linda, what time are you arriving at Orlando? We're scheduled to arrive at 8:15am, maybe we'll see you there!!! Are you flying out of Cincy or Kentucky? We'll be flying out of Columbus.

Hi everyone...

How many days is it? I think I need a countdown ticker!

We will be flying in on Thursday and staying at PopCentury! After the cruise we will go to KSC. I can't wait!!!

Anyone have kids that would like to email? DS (11) and DD (7) would love email friends if anyone still wants to.

The day we get back... I know I don't even really want to think about it, but we need to find a place to stay. We will be at KSC during the day, and we would like to go check out cocoa beach. DH suggested maybe staying by the airport. Any suggestions?

Goodness, was I asleep that long? :coffee:
The weekends are sooo crazy  for us, with swimming class, sunday school and other kids activities I hardly have time to open the computer.
Last year DH and I went to Puerto Vallarta. One day we went downtown shopping for trinkets to take back home to family. And must of the the store owners were getting prepared for the boats coming in the next day. The days the cruises come into Port they "up" the prices so when you are barganing with them it really is not a bargain you are getting it is regular price. Be very stern about lowering price if you start to walk away they will call you back and give in too your asking price! I will be in search of silver dolphin bracelet!
For those interested remember my DH picked up Mickey chips!

To Lorie, Linda and Princessviga, would you like to have a little pre meet somewhere at the World on Friday? That way Brendan, Zach and both Andrews can meet (not sure of princessviga's son's name)! And we can meet too, can't forget us!

So far, our plans are to do Epcot in the morning, back at the BW pool in the afternoon and to pack for the cruise, and MK for a possible very late night (closes at 2:00 am for EMH), don't think we'll last past 11:00 :goodvibes though. Jill

Wendy,

You said your family had done Mr. Sanchos in Coz in prior years. How far from port in Mr. Sanchos? Do you remember the cost for the taxi ride?

We are having so much trouble deciding on Coz (hopefully, we get to go!) Thought about an excursion, but prefer not to be on so much of a specific "schedule" -- my DS really wants to do the minigolf while we are there.

What is everyone else planning? I know some are doing the ruins, my family prefers the beach, etc. Anyone else done Mr. Sanchos? Anyone with suggestions?

Thank heavens we have our Maj. Beach DIS meet in CM -- I know what I'm planning for that day! ha!ha!

94 days and counting!

Jill-sounds like a good plan for a dis meet at WDW! Our plans are pretty flexible. If we do a park, we would probably take an afternoon break. We could meet in DTD or perhaps meet for a snack-what's the place with the "kitchen sink" ice cream dessert?

Princess-you can just look at my countdown clock. That's what I did before our thread starter Dan left us. :sad2:

FantasiaMM-We have a snorkel excursion with Jill set up for Coz. Of course, shopping will be in there!!! I'm hoping to shop early, do our excursion and later go to the mini-golf. There's something intriguing about ordering a pina colada from any hole on the course!!!

The only problem with Coz is that if we do get to go, it won't be easy to get back and forth to the ship since we probably would have to tender. I've been spoiled because everytime we've gone, we have been docked right there and were able to go back to the ship, clean up (salt water-yuck!) and then go back into town.

Oh yes, Beaches and Cream would be a great place to meet! :thumbsup2 How bout 4:00sh? That way we can just head out from there to our night time park. What do you think guys?

Yum!!! Is anyone offended by ice cream at 4??? I'm all about desserts!! I think desserts should be brought out before the main course!!! What the heck, I think desserts should BE the main course! :thumbsup2

Lorie -- We're not arriving in Orlando until 12:30 p.m., so I imagine you'll be long gone. We're flying out of the Cincinnati airport which is actually in Kentucky, so I guess the answer to that question is "both"!

Jillpie--sure!....a get together Friday afternoon for all of the DSs and the rest of us sounds good. I checked with my DS.....I was expecting him to say that he didn't want to take time away from the parks, but even when I set him up with that as a possible excuse, his reaction was he'd like to meet the other guys.

Not sure if we'll try to do parks that day or just hang around the pool, but as Lorie said, we can always take a break. Lorie, the "kitchen sink place" is called Beaches and Cream, so that's a good option. Another option would be to meet at the Community Hall at Boardwalk....there are a few *free* video games, ping pong, foosball, etc. in there.....might be easier for the DSs to get to know each other if they have something to do. We could hang around outside by the "quiet pool" or even head over to the Luna Park pool and have a drink. :cool1:

O.K....who else on this thread would like to do a WDW pre-cruise meet? It'd be particularly great to find someone else with a DD around 9ish or a DS around 6ish but of course, everybody is welcome!

Let's also stick with that Sail Away party meet too so that we can join up with the others who are staying elsewhere pre-cruise.

This is going to be great.....looking forward to meeting all of you!

Linda

We are planning to arrive in Orlando on 6/22 in the afternoon. We are driving down but my mom and dad and my sister are flying out of columbus, OH and arrive around 2:30. I plan to pick them up at the airport. They won't have any luggage because it is going down with us in our van. We are staying at the WL. We are going to skip the parks this year since we have done the parks for the last 2 years, and we are going to do one of the water parks that day, probably BB.

We probably will skip the Beach meet at CM since my dad cannot stay out in the sun for extremely long periods and he said Castaway Cat would be all the beaches he wanted. We are not sure what we want to do in the ports. I know we are snorkeling in the mornings at CC. We did this last year and had a blast. If any of you have never been to CC and plan on snorkleing, I would recommend you go in the morning. By afternoon the water is getting very murky and hard to see anything. Last year, My DW would not go with me and my son in the morning, but she went in the afternoon, and she could not find the mickey statue in the water until I pointed out she was over top of it and it was only about 2 feet below her and she could not see it because the water was so murky. We may split up on the islands because my DW and sister are wanting to go to see ruins and my sons do not.

Linda, I have a 6 year old and a 9 year old DSs. We venture to Cincy all the time since we are members of the Zoo.

the precruise meet sounds like fun, I will have to check with the family. We just decided to go to MK that day. We will be there all day!!!!! I am happy and sad.... I really wanted to do DC, but we just don't have the money :sad2: ... but on the flip side.... I'll be at MK!!!! :cool1: :thumbsup2   :cheer2: :Pinkbounc :woohoo: :yay: :sunny: princess: :cloud9:

Fantasiamm- Mr Sanchos beach was about a10 min drive, be sure to check out their wesite, just google search, they have coupons you can download t bring with you. FYI those of you planning on doing many activities in Coz. Remember, it's very hot and after the beach and shopping we we're too tired to go golfing. So next time we just did golfing and shopping. I didn't realize we had to tender in coz!
Yuck!
