'Scuse me???

Wondered when you would chime in....

How are things going for the Halloween Cruise --- are you dressing as piRATES? pirate: pirate:

I was up at 3:00 for reservations for the pre-Christmas, last minute cruise...Only one week between booking and ressies....not much time for anticipation build-up.

Can I go back to sleep now (yawn).

What's the pre-Christmas last minute cruise?

It's a Floridian DISer tradition. They get relatively short notice great deals, that are only available to Florida residents, and make the rest of us feel bad by taking YET ANOTHER Disney cruise! Can you tell I'm jealous? :rotfl2:

Thanks! I guess a have to wait till April for my cruise. At least I have a week at WDW starting in 7 days!

We were on the recent Sept 7th cruise and booked another cruise for 2007.At that time I asked shannon bradley the cruise lines on board travel agent . She said she expected 2008 to be released late Sept-early Oct. Then she added she thought at that time it would be only a partial schedual available to book. Which leads me to think perhaps there is something special planned for the summer of 2008.

heh heh heh.......

Well stated. We were e-mailed rates, booked, paid off and got ressies all in less than a week......

We're going to Alaska in June 2007 with Princess! I first booked DCL to the Mediterranean for 2007, but that lasted all of a week!

IF DCL were to cruise to Alaska (and I don't think it would be in 2008), they would probably sail roundtrip from Seattle or Vancouver. I doubt DCL would do one-way cruises between Vancouver and Seward/Whittier. If the ship left from Seattle, it would probably stop in Victoria or Prince Rupert Island to satisfy the "foreign port" requirement. Other probable ports would be Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway, and either Hubbard Glacier or Tracy Arm Fjord as the glacier. I doubt DCL would be able to get a permit to sail to Glacier Bay.

As much as adults would enjoy Alaska, I don't see it as a destination for families with really young kids.

We are in!
As much as I am not investing too much hope in this "rumor", we are sure hoping it to be true! If it is, we will be there....just wondering which port they will sail out of, and what the dates will be. Can't wait! :teeth:

I too am hoping for a 2008 Alaskan Cruise... I booked a cruise for 4/2008 just so i could get a discount (was on a cruise recently)... do we really have any hope for an Alaskan? It would be my 10th year anniversary celebration - if not we'll book another cruise line... my question...

HOW LONG do I have to wait till the 2008 itineraries get posted? Thanks everyone!

Well, the latest posts on the main board seem to suggest we're not going to Alaska in 2008. Oh well, it looks like Mexico in 2008 and Alaska sometime later! I changed the thread title to '09 even though I find that unlikely. Maybe 2010 or 2012 (with a new ship?)

tHANKS FOR THE UPDATE....MIGHT MAKE OUR PLANS FOR 2006 A LITTLE MORE COMPLICATED.....

Have they announced ASIA 2008 yet? One of our cruise mates says they are placing the ship in CA summer or 2008 (repo thru Panama?)

No announcements have been made at all! It's strictly DISboards sleuthing! The thread with the evidence is on the main board at http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1316427 and it rather strongly suggests that the Magic will spend the summer of 2008 doing 7 day Mexican Riviera cruises.

Al Lutz' column on MiceAge today mentions a press event for Jan 24th at DL to announce the Summer '08 itinerary and the new ship!

From http://miceage.com/allutz/al010907a.htm
The other big announcement to be made is that the Disney Cruise Line will be returning to the West Coast for the summer of 2008. A third ship in the Disney fleet has been contracted out of an Italian shipyard, but it won't be here in '08. They'll borrow one of the existing boats from Florida for that summer while they wait for the new boat that is purpose built for West Coast waters to arrive at the end of the decade. TDA would like to run cruises to the Mexican Riviera in winter, and up to British Columbia and Alaska in summer. But those types of itineraries require a different type of ship with different types of weather protection and amenities than the fair weather Disney Magic and Wonder are equipped with.
