Are their rules for the gifts? suggestions? are they just for the kids or the whole family? I just want to make sure I do this right. Thanks

No rules really. I'm doing mostly one per stateroom....I think I have one gift that I'll have some extras that can be for the kids in the rooms...but otherwise it would really be too much to take along.

Most of them are really just small little trinkets in the $1-$2 range...or less. I went with themes like Mexican, tropical, pirate.....
We definitely don't need to break the bank....it's really just fun to find something in your Fish Extender every day or two. And we weren't going to try to do them for the 1st day onboard of course, nor for the last morning off the ship because we'll already be all packed up.
So it ends up being 5 gifts. Oops, I guess it still would be 7.
Maybe we should say just do them Monday-Friday?

There are 12 or 14 Category 3's. There are only 2 Category 2's and 2 Category 1's.

I had a call a while back that one of the handicap Cat 3's in the aft was open, but I wasn't going to pay several thousand dollars more for it, so I turned it down.
Now if they were to offer it to me for FREE......

You are right, was thinking of the 1's and 2's. And actually, there are 18 Cat 3's - I just counted, LOL.

We are trying to do gifts for each "stateroom" as opposed to each person in the stateroom. On some days, we definitely bought stuff designed for the kids in the stateroom. My son has had a blast picking out stuff and I know he can't wait to deliver it.

There are no rules, except to have fun!!! Honestly, just get gifts that you are comfortable with $$$ wise and space wise.


On a side note, I see we have yet another Texan onboard. I think so far we have Austin, Dallas, El Paso and now Corpus covered

I think we're going to have to place a cut-off date for the FE's. Our list is growing, and pretty soon I'll be nekked on the ship for lack of room in my suitcase.

I agree. Nekked would not be good for most of us (remember...4-0?) . Friday seems like a reasonable cut-off.

I think I have my fish extender figured out. I have been looking all day on ebay. I did not find anything we could all agree on. I had an epiphany. I remembered that I bought a magazine board at the containter store 2 months ago and had never hung it up on the wall. It has 6 pockets which is too many but that is okay. joanns fabrics has iron on Disney appliques and I am hoping that I will be able to iron them on to the pockets. I think this is going to be so much fun. My kids are very excited about what we are going to give as gifts. What will happen if we dont have a cabin number before we get to the port?

Great idea. It's becomeing a somewhat comical, everytime I log on I have to run out to the store and get a couple more things. Can we also decide if we are going to start on the first night of the cruise or wait until the second. One more thing (for now ) are we set for the meet. DCL shoots out streamers, but they don't hand them out. They have CM's on Deck 10 with some kind of gun that pops them out. I think the kids would have a blast with the bubbles.

If we go over to PORT side, we'll be looking out at the water instead of the icky terminal...so let's do PORT side right after the drill...Deck 10...above the Goofy pool.

And I don't want to make all the decisions, but I think if we do the gifts on Monday - Friday, that is 5 days instead of the 6 or 7....to keep it more manageable. What do you all think?
We can put them out either late at night starting Sunday night, or early in the morning. The trick is to do it when no one is looking!

Good idea for the FE! I know our scrapbooking stores like Michaels and JoAnn sells disney embellishments in the scrapbooking section that have an adhesive on the back of them, thus no ironing! I've used them for decorating cloth scrapbook covers and also made my own disney headband and knit gloves when we went to WDW in Dec. one year. I just adhered them onto the gloves and headband and several people asked where I bought them because they wanted to buy some! They stay attached very well so would work for your project. Probably a lot cheaper, too, because one pack would have enough for all your pockets.

Thanks for the great tips. I used to be crafty, but I dont get to do much of that anymore with 3 kids. I bought a bunch of gifts last night. I think this will be such a blast.
