06/08/08 Magic And Mickey To Mexico!!!

party: party: party: party: party: party: party: party: party: party:

Just got home from a horrible 101 degree day of trying to keep 9th & 10th grade students interested in history (at least for 2 more weeks), and found a delightful envelope on my door step!

To quote James Brown, "I FEEL GOOD!":dancer:

Another 101 degree day predicted for tomorrow. This is so bizare... we usually have weather in the 70's this time of year. I guess I'll just have to pack up and go to Mexico to cool down!;)

Hello all,

A dear friend of ours lost her DH just a short ten days ago. He was killed by a drunk driver and left behind two beautiful children and a wife. We're thinking of bringing her along on the Mexican Riviera cruise. Is there anything special that we can have Disney do for her and her children? They are 4 and 1.5. They really need this magical time right now in their lives. They weren't just close friends, he was our groomsman and my DH was their best man.

Thanks for your help!

Phyllis

I'm so sorry about your friend. That is so incrediby sad.

Our thoughts are with you and your close friends. I am so sorry for your loss. I'm sure that if DCL knows the circumstances, they will work their magic.

Can someone explain the gift exchange to me . . . I've looked through several pages of posts and can't find where it started; thanks . . .

Stacey explained a lot. I just wanted to add that I am making most of my gifts. I did go to dollar store and find some little things like stickers to supplement.

I did not purchase a store bought FE. I'm just bringing a little plastic lunch type bag that is red and white polka dots (looks kinda disney-ish) and I'm decorating the outside to personalize. I have 15 of them, so if you want one, I'd be happy to bring one to you and give it to you at the meet after the safety drill so you would be set to go. Let me know.

I see you have a 14 year old. My son is 15. Hope they can meet at our meet after the safety drill!

Hi buddies.. just a quick reminder today is the last day to post if you are in for FE. So far it looks like 15 rooms are participating  I think this is going to be alot of fun! I was wondering when I posted the suggetion way back if anyone would want to participate.. well got my answer! :thumbsup2

I just talked to a CM at Disneyland and she told me that it was horribly hot. MUCH worse than here....that's really unusual.
The best part of her day yesterday (and she gets to do it again today) she said was being able to do the test run of Toy Story.....I think that's what she said. Isn't there already a Buzz Lightyear? Anyway, she meant the new one at California Adventure. Did it yesterday, had a blast and is doing it again today when she gets off work.

But as most of you that have been on this post for the past 6 months know, DH has been struggling with getting contracts, well, he has been without one for the past 2 weeks, we were really considering cancelling our Disneyland pre cruise trip, we couldn't cancel the cruise because we would loose a TON of money and I dodnt want to just hand Disney over 10 grand for free :sad2: But I was determined that we could do Disney cheaper then the $3500 that we were looking at.... So for the past four days I have been a mad woman researching and digging for bargins....I got two of them...One is for Disney its self... and here is how it breaks down As you all know There are 8 :grouphug: of us going... 3 adults... 5 kids ages 7,7,9,11,11, but as most of you know Disney considers our 11 year olds adults so technically there are 5 adults I guess :rotfl:

:yay: We are staying 4 nights at Disney and could not find a suite room that would accommodate all 8 of us...so we would have to go with 2 rooms... so here is what we got. :)

Two deluxe rooms for four nights at the Sheraton Park Hotel, eight 4 day park hopper tickets, eight lilo/stitch breakfasts, two $20 Disney Gift Cards, 8 lanyards and 8 Disneyland pins, and unlimited shuttle service. GRAND TOTAL for everything.......$2345.00 :cheer2: :yay: :cheer2: We are THRILLED I am just besides myself. :upsidedow :upsidedow

The second bargin we got was DH really wanted to go to Medievil times for his Birthday which is June 2nd, and the cheapest I could find was just over $470 for the 8 of us... Well, I called them directly and the customer service lady was sooooo sweet... She gave us three discounts... 1 is that my hubby is free for his brithday which normally you have to buy/have the entertainment book to get that coupon, and she also gave us a AAA 10% off all of us rate, AND $4 off for each person for the web discount...and normally the $4 is only for adults... so We are only paying $345... can you say YAY!!:yay: It honestly feels as if a huge weight/stree has been lifted off my shoulders...and I am determined to enjoy not only Disneyland but the cruise as well, I KNOW   DH will get another contract as soon as we get home. Thank you for letting me share/vent. Have a great Friday all. Big :grouphug:
