06/08/08 Magic And Mickey To Mexico!!!

Great news Rebecca! I'll keep my fingers (and toes, too) crossed. I know how stressful this can be. Things always have a way of working out as they should. Hang in there!:yay:

:thanks: Thank you very much. Everyone's well wishes are extremely thoughtful:flower3: . I asked DH yesterday if we should just cancel the cruise, take the $2K that we have already paid for the deposits and just go to Disneyland like the kids think we are doing. He insisted that it will all work out and he will get a contract and we will go. I just have to keep believing  and praying. Will keep you all up to date as I get more information. :thumbsup2 big:grouphug:

 Our cruise travel kits. With all the important dates..ie to book palo, pay off date etc... This makes it more real and more scary :scared1: trying to come up with ALL THAT $$$ Did anyone else get their kits yet? :yay:

NO FAIR! I didn't get one of those! In fact, I've never gotten one of those.
But then, I don't get half the stuff I should from Disney because they mail to street addresses, and we only get mail at the post office. :sad2:

But I am verrrrry close to being paid in full...:cool1:

For anyone traveling with Southwest Airlines....this was one advantage they always had over the other airlines, especially when we were going on a cruise.

The free baggage allowance for each ticketed Customer will change from three to two bags. The first and second bag you check (up to 50lbs) are FREE. The third bag (also up to 50 lbs) will be $25.00. Oversized and overweight bags may be subject to extra charges. The maximum dimensions will remain the same, where the luggage should not exceed sixty-two (62) inches when you add the length + width + height. SWA does not accept items over 100lbs.

"Customers will still be permitted to substitute certain sporting equipment free of charge in place of one of the two free bags. For example, ski equipment can be used for a free bag, SWA allows up to two bags (containing one set of snow skis, ski poles, and ski boots) to count as one item, even if they are packed and tagged separately. (Overweight charges may still apply.)
"Customers may substitute up to two baby items, such as car seats and strollers, in exchange for one checked bag. In real-life terms, a family of four (including two small children over the age of two) may check two sets of golf clubs, two strollers, two car seats, and four pieces of luggage (under 50 pounds each) all for free."

I really should be in bed, but for some reason, I went back to our first pages and re-read them. What a CRAZY time that was, booking this cruise!!
I find it IMPOSSIBLE to believe that it truly was (almost exactly!) a whole year ago. Wow....where did that year go???

So on page 6, I had said that we had 71 weeks to go.....and now we have....

Only 18 Weeks to go!!!!

Almost time to start packing. I absolutely can't wait!! :dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Hi again guys! Received our kit yesterday too! Makes it real - that and the upcoming "pay day"
Our group has a 3-68 y/o age range - excursions for everyone are proving a little difficult. DO any of you guys know if it says "5y/o and over", can a 3 y/o go along and just not participate - for example catamaran/snorkeling? I will call DCL today, but wondering if any of you have experience.

Happy Planning!:yay: :surfweb: :yay:

We got our Cruise Kit too! 18 weeks! I can't believe it. :cloud9: I am getting so excited. My 5yr old DD is talking about nothing else. I guess I am rubbing off on her! The excursions all sound so good...what to choose?!
Have a great week everyone.

We'll SEE you all in 18 weeks! :woohoo:

Hello - I posted on here way back when we first booked the cruise but I haven't been back much since. We were actually going to cancel this cruise but now that we received our packet in the mail, everyone is all excited and ready to go.

Only 18 weeks! I guess I better get busy. So many decisions to make and so little time. What are you all thinking for shore excursions?

Are there any teenage girls out there? My 2 (ages 19 and 15) would love to have someone to hang out with.

Stacey,

I just wanted to thank you for the suggestion to call DCL directly about our dining time. I called and in about 2 minutes the CM checked availability and moved us from wait list to main dining. It couldn't have been more simple. She was lovely and it really made my day. Yet another reason to be giddy.:dance3:

Hope everyone is well!

As I read back the other day, I wondered if you were still coming. No teen daughter coming this time, but a 15 yr old son.....

If you don't mind me asking "why were you going to cancel your cruise"? As for the teenagers...sorry no... three girls ages 11, 11, and 9 and our twin boys who will be 7 at the time of sailing. :thumbsup2

We were going to cancel since we did this cruise back in 2005 and now that we need 2 rooms, it's quite a bit of money. Also, I'm not sure how relaxing the cruise is going to be with a 22 month old. We went to WDW in August of last year so we were going to save money and do a smaller vacation this year. We considered trying another cruise line  but we always end up back with our one true love, DCL. A

The funny part is it's my 19yo who wants to go on the Disney cruise and not another line like Royal Caribbean.

So now that we've started looking at DCL again, we are all VERY excited. I've decided that a week chasing a toddler around on a ship is much better than a week chasing her around at home.

I was able to get two rooms for 144.84 through priceline pre-cruise. There is a shuttle from LAX to the hotel . Now I am working on getting from the hotel to the Port. Making final arrangements now. I am still waiting on airfare specials to come out for June.

Yes, but at least you get some 'free' babysitting at flounders reef nursury right? How many hours are you allowed to use? Bet you can't wait till she is 3 and fully potty trained so she can use the kids clubs!!

We've cruised on Princess and Norwegian, and even my grown kids and husband will tell you that we still like Disney best.

We did this cruise with Disney the last time, too...but I just can't resist doing it again with the ship being so close!! No 4.5 hour flight! :woohoo:

We love the ship being so close too!

Is anyone planning on welcoming the Magic into LA? We did that in 2005 and will probably do it again this time. It was a very exciting day and we loved getting a taste of what was waiting for us.

Does anyone know what port the Magic will be docked at for the Mexican Riveria? San Pedro or Long Beach?
