Good Morning!
I've been up since about 4:30...had muscle spasms in my back and couldn't sleep. I've never had those before, so it was "interesting".


Laura, when my parents have had their surgeries and I go up and stay, I'm never quite sure who I'm helping the most...the one who had the surgery or the one who has to take care of the other! It isn't easy. Hugs to you for helping!

Muscle spasms? Sounds like you need a massage!

I'm actually more concerned for my father right now. He's looking very frail and his hands shake a lot (something I've noticed just recently). I'm sure he's a bit overwhelmed at the enormity of being in charge of her care. Thank goodness they have a friend coming over today. I have the feeling I'll be back there tomorrow!

Good Morning! Did we scare everyone away? Stacey, I hope you're feeling better - I think I caught your cold - I feel like I have nails in my throat. ugh - I'm heading to Dallas on Thursday for more pilates training - I can't afford to be sick.

Laura, hang in there - as you said earlier it's tough to realize your parents are getting older...I'm glad a friend is coming over to help around the house. What about a quick phone call to their church, a few more friends, or even an aide type situation until your step mother gets back on her feet?

My parents do have some friends lined up and ready to help. I feel guilty that we moved far enough away that I'm not able to "just stop by". Plus, with my Dad, it's a matter of pride. There's that stubborn streak -- don't tell him he can't handle it himself!!

I broke down and called the doctor today. I know how you feel, Monica, I don't want to be gone this weekend and fighting this stuff. I went back to bed this morning and slept until almost noon, and then laid down again from 5:00 to 7:00. I can't keep doing that, so hopefully, the doc has some suggestions....or DRUGS!

Yeah - we're going too! We will be in room 7509. Has anyone ever stayed in that room? Any good or bad things I need to worry about. This is our first cruise and we are very excited.

Your first DCL cruise - how exciting!! So glad you found us! We are a small group at the moment, but I'm sure our numbers will grow over the coming months!

I could not find a stateroom report for 7509, but I'm sure the room will be fine. Hey, you'll be on the ship - you won't spend much time in your room anyway!

I've never stayed in that room, but I'm sure it will be awesome! Being near the forward elevators is good, they're quieter than the mid-ships.

Just got back. He gave me some muscle relaxers for my back, said to keep heat on it, and to take my anti-inflammatories. He's certain it's just muscle and not anything to do with my broken vertebra. Whew.

And....got a Z-Pak for the cold that turned much nastier during the night. He said he hopes the Z-Pak will knock it out so that I can have a good time this weekend.
He also told me "No lifting of the luggage" Cool...did you hear that, Jay??

And....(poor Doc!)....he's getting me a referral to a hand specialist for the wrist. I was seeing an orthopedic surgeon, but my doc says it's time to bring in the "big guns". Ruh roh.

I may be stupid, but I think I know what the "big guns" hand specialist will do....and I really hate the thought of surgery.

It looks like you'll have decent weather - no rain! Low's around 50; high's in the low to mid 60's.

Right now I'm VERY glad I don't live in the midwest or northeast. Yikes - what awful weather.

Hi everyone. We will be traveling with all of you and I just wanted to introduce my family and myself. My name is Kevin and I am the husband, my wife’s name is Nicholle and my daughter’s name is Skye. Skye will be turning 12 the day before the trip. Because of her birthday we are going to spend Friday and Saturday at DL and CA. We will be staying at the Grand California while we are visiting the parks. The trip will be a surprise for my daughter until a week before. We are telling her that my wife and I are going on a trip so we have to have her birthday party a week early. Her “present” is going to be a handmade book that will reveal the surprise. We have surprised her before but this one is going to top everything. I have to get her passport without her getting suspicious.

Once my wife and I started planning this, back in early Jan, I found this website and its wealth of information. Armed with this information we gave the information to our travel agent, my wife works in travel, and she got us exactly what we wanted. We will be staying in 8056.

We are very excited about this trip and yet angry when I think about how long I have to wait until this trip. I like to plan, but a year and a half is just mean.
