05/09/2009 May 9, 2009 7-Night Eastern St Maarten... Watch Out!

Thank you Scottie!!! I will do exactly that and see which menu I like the least and schedule Palo for that night. I think you have a good idea doing it on Sunday (Mother's Day) I keep forgetting that we will be sailing on MD -- I may even schedule myself a spa treatment on that day just to make sure I take full advantage of celebrating "my day" :thumbsup2 I am with the gals in your group... not really into dressing all that fancy on Formal Night, so maybe we will see you at Palo on Sunday :)

MouseNDaHouse: I take it from your post that AP only does the show on the first night that you are there? Is that right?

Sorry... no more questions.... I am off to read my passporter. I will come back more knowledgeable :flower3:
Yep - that is the impression I've gotten from other posters here on DIS.

One other note on choosing the night - since it's my first cruise, I'm going to do everything in my power to be in Animators Palate on the first A night of my rotation since that is the only night they do the show. I will schedule Palo (somehow) around that if I can.

I think the way to ensure you are not in Palo on your first "A" night would be to book your Palo reservation as soon as you board the ship. That way you will know your rotation already since it will be on the KTTW card when you check in at port. I would guess they would have an opening for the day and around the time you want but no promises. You may want to book something online for Palo when the window opens to book online just to be sure you have something locked in and then change it once you board the ship if needed. This is what I have heard others do.

Yes for sure, we can throw rolls at each other across Palo! :lmao:

I think we are going to try to book something after 7:30pm so we can have time to attend the Golden Mickeys show beforehand.

Well the kids said they want me to look into the Butterfly farm to visit after I am done with my excursion. So I guess I will be adding that to my research list!

So know that Disneymommy was checking to see how many people were interested in doing the Fish Extenders and Secret Mickey. Do we know yet what the finally tally was? I did it on the Members Cruise and it was so much fun to find something new in the bag everytime.:cool1:

Welcome scdizney!!

I am down for fish extenders. Just need the details and expectations.

Are we focusing our efforts on the fish extenders for the kiddies sailing in our great group? I thought I recalled a posting a while back suggesting that we have the gifts (I think you do "gifts" with FE's?) for the kids traveling?

OK back to watching one sweet Oasis Concert on Palladia!!:wave2:

Update: So I just realized my original post above left out the fact we should be sure to not leave out any big kids (adults) who want to join in too! I am still chatting with DW about this so Im not 100% if we are in right now or not, sorry I am not more on the ball!:goodvibes

Sorry got caught up in the concert and then breaking in the new BluDisc Player with a viewing of IronMan with the Dolby TrueHD cranked up (sorry slight av geek in me coming out)

this is great information! there are 7 of us, but my sister is staying in the park before hand so I am just worrying about myself, mom and my fiance to and from the port and I am definately going to call disney to see about the transfers, my agent is good but there are just some things she can't answer for me...so I think I will check out those transportation suggestions.. regarding the Hyatt at the airport.. you mentioned that you got a rate of $135, how did you get that? I checked out the rates online and they are like over $200....

Just wanted to let everyone know that I have only received a response from 5 family's and mine would make 6 for the fish extender list. I will give it one more week and see if we have anyone else would like to join. So please if you would like to participate in the fish extender PM me so that I can get an accurate count.

Well even better if theres only three of you to worry about for transfers you should be able to consider a Towncar for even less of a cost out of pocket then a limo. I think a Towncar will run close to the DCL price for 3, but you will have a private transfer and flexibility in your times:thumbsup2

As for the $135 with tax rate for the Hyatt MCO, Hyatt offers a thing called a Stay Certificate. It is like a gift certificate for a nights stay. The lowest level certificate Hyatt MCO accepts is the $135 one. There are two or so at more cost they will accept too but won’t accept the lowest price one ($99) so I bought the next one up at $135. They have limited availability in rooms you can book via a Stay Certificate.
You can call the Hyatt Reservation number and book the room in and let them know you want to use a Stay Certificate for the night and they will list it that way. Then you buy the actual certificate from Hyatt either on their site or via the telephone. When you check in you just hand it over. I think there is a $6 mail fee to get it so just a little over $135 total.

If you could do me a big favor and explain to me how this works I will be happy to pass on the info to DW and get back to you. I understand what the FE looks like and how to make one, but hadnt gone thru the long thread where they talk about the process of using them in a group.

Yeah, I could really use some explanation on it...the idea of a group gift thing sounds like fun but I need the info to convince DW!

sweet! thanks for the info.. I also just realized that there is nice discount for Seniors.. (which my mom just turned) so we can use her to get a good deal...perhaps we will run into each other!

I’m assuming you are talking about the Hyatt Rates? If so, you may still be better doing the Stay Certificate because the Senior rate is a little more money plus you would have the 12.5% or so tax on top of that discounted Senior rate- just a thought.
Look for us on the roof of the airport swimming in the hotel pool!
