05/09/2009 May 9, 2009 7-Night Eastern St Maarten... Watch Out!

I just started to get out all of our summer clothes. The kids will have to do some trying on before the clothes make it to the suitcases. I am hoping not to have buy any clothing for them before we go. Right now, all I need to buy is sandals. I can't believe how close we are getting to the big day. I remember the girls asking me to make them a calendar to show how many more days and it was something like 125 (or longer). The kids are starting to get more and more excited.

Well if it makes you feel any better I had to buy all new clothing for everyone in my family for this trip! the girls have out grown everything and I felt that I need some new stuff and DH well lets just say he could wear the same shirt every day and be happy! As for the kids and being excited here is a typical conversation every day

DD7: How many more days mom?
Me: 4 Weeks
DD7 You said that yesterday and the day before
Me: Well honey there are 7 days in a week so for the next 5 day you will get the same answer 4 WEEKS!
DD7: Man that will take forever.
ME: I know but soon that one week we are on the ship will go by so quick you wont know what to do with your self.
DD7: Sure I do you and DAD can pay for another one and we can go again
ME (IN MY HEAD): Man I hope I hit the lotto soon!!!!

Does anyone know if the buy 4 get 7 promotion for Disney World stays is still going to be running when we sail? Reason I ask is I heard that promtion is increasing crowds in the parks.

Yes, I think it is b/c my friend is going on the 16th of May for 1 week and she got that promotion. My sister visited Magic Kingdom yesterday and said it was "crazy crowded"

Yes...unfortunately, I just read that the promotion is over at the end on June. :scared1:

Well so much for my prior comment about the parks not being busy in early/mid May! :sad2:

Still, crowded Disney is better than no Disney at all!

I would rather be standing in the Soarin' line right now instead of being stuck here at work!!

The crowds will be much lighter than this week. The MK takes the brunt of the crowds when they do this type of promotion. Families with kids always go to the MK. A good way to tell what Disney expects for crowds is to see what time they are planning on keeping the MK open until. The later, the busier. This week the MK was open until 3:00 am several nights.

It is hard to tell what Friday will be like. The schdule indicates that MK is open till 9:00 pm. Normal time for that time of the year. In the past it is, not as busy as Saturday or Sunday and no where near as busy as April.:goodvibes

I was just listening to a recent Podcast and they mentioned the parks have been busier then usual for the past several weeks and their sources tell them to expect the parks to be more crowded then usual into October due to the various specials being run- which makes sense. However, they did say they think there may be a slight lull for a couple weeks of May (didn’t mention what weeks).
Their big tip was to get to the parks early so you can get a head start on the crowds and if you are staying on property and the park you want to go to has morning magic hours then take advantage of it.

And let's not forget that although most schools are out this week, some schools had Spring Break last week and some will next week as well.
We should be fine!

Hi everybody.... Well I am just starting to catch up on here because I was without a computer for almost a week. My DH 9 year old sony VIO died on us this past weekend so we had to go out and buy a new Laptop. Not that I am so upset about finally getting a new machine.

This week has been a bit of a mess. Our Apartment flooded on Sat for the 2nd time in 2 weeks and that was the 8th time since we moved in 3 years ago. On Thursday my poor little Toy Rat Terrier was bit by another dog in our neighborhood. She's OK but she did lose a chunk outta her poor tiny little ear. Then I go to the tanning bad that same day and I tell them to put it on for 4 minutes beacause I am sooooo fair skinned. What does the girl do she puts it on 10. Luckily I figured out that it had been the longest 4 minutes in history, but I still got a bit toasty. Then we find out the computer is dead, adn to wind up that day my car alarm starts going off at 4:30 AM and it is a forced entry alarm on a Mustang. It was just an all around tough week.

Now on to the good stuff. It's time for the 30 day DANCE!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Now to go and see if we are still in the same room...

Oh Boy... sounds like you have earned this upcoming vacation for sure!! I hope everything in your apartment is ok and your doggie heals up quickly!

Here hoping for better luck over the coming weeks!:wizard:

If anyone is considering Hyatt MCO for pre-cruise stay and hasnt locked into a price (like myself with a Stay Cert), it looks like Hotwire has it back on there for $76 plus tax/fee so just under $100 for the night before.
